Environmental colloid behaviors of humic acid-Cadmium nanoparticles in aquatic environments

Humic acid(HA),a principal constituent of natural organic matter(NOM),manifests ubiquitously across diverse ecosystems and can significantly influence the environmental behaviors of Cd(II)in aquatic *** studies on NOM-Cd(II)interactions have primarily focused on the immobilization of Cd(II)solids,but little is known about the colloidal stability of organically complexed Cd(II)particles in the *** this study,we investigated the formation of HA-Cd(II)colloids and quantified their aggregation,stability,and transport behaviors in a saturated porous media representative of typical subsurface *** from batch experiments indicated that the relative quantity of HA-Cd(II)colloids increased with increasing C/Cd molar ratio and that the carboxyl functional groups of HA dominated the stability of HA-Cd(II)*** results of correlation analysis between particle size,critical aggregation concentration(CCC),and zeta potential indicated that both Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek(DLVO)and non-DLVO interactions contributed to the enhanced colloidal stability of HA-Cd(II)*** results further confirmed that the stable HA-Cd(II)colloid can transport fast in a saturated media composed of clean ***,this study provides newknowledge of the colloidal behaviors of NOM-Cd(II)nanoparticles,which is important for better understanding the ultimate cycling of Cd(II)in aquatic systems.

BACKGROUND Modified Pulsatilla decoction(PD),a PD with licorice and ejiao,is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine formula with significant efficacy in treating intestinal mucositis(IM)induced by tumor ***,its specific molecular and biological mechanisms remain *** To investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of modified PD in *** This study used an IM mouse model established using 5-fluorouracil injections to investigate the effects of the modified PD(3,6,and 12 g/kg)in *** primary chemical components of the modified PD were identified using liquid chromatography-mass *** weight loss,diarrhea scores,intestinal length,histopathological scores,and inflammatory cytokine levels were measured to evaluate the effects of the modified PD in *** on the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway were evaluated using western blot *** intestinal microbiota was characterized using Illumina NovaSeq *** The results showed that modified PD significantly improved weight loss and diarrhea and shortened the intestines in IM ***,modified PD suppressed the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway and downregulated the expression of reactive oxygen species,lipopolysaccharides,and pro-inflammatory cytokines(IL-1β,TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-6,IL-8,and IL-17),while increasing the expression of the anti-inflammatory cytokine ***,modified PD protected the intestinal mucosal barrier by increasing the expression of tight junction proteins(occludin-1,claudin-1,and ZO-1)and ***,16S rDNA sequencing revealed that modified PD improved intestinal *** Our research offers new insights into the potential mechanism of modified PD in alleviating IM and provides experimental evidence supporting its pharmaceutical application in clinical IM treatment.

Let(M1×(λ_(1),λ_(2))M_(2),F)be a doubly twisted product complex Finsler manifold of two strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler manifolds(M_(1),F_(1))and(M_(2),F_(2)).Denote by M the product manifold of M1and M_(2).In this paper,we first give the characterization for(M,F)to be of constant holomorphic curvature,and prove that(M,F)is of constant holomorphic curvature if and only if(M,F),(M_(1),F_(1)),and(M_(2),F_(2))all have vanishing holomorphic curvature under the condition that lnλ_(1)and lnλ_(2)are both pluriharmonic ***,we obtain the classification for(M,F)to be a complex Landsberg ***,we prove that a strongly convex doubly twisted product complex Finsler manifold(M,F)is projectively flat(*** flat)if and only ifλ_(1)F1andλ_(2)F_(2)are both complex Minkowski metrics.

Effects of ultrasonic-assisted extraction on bioactive compounds,volatile flavors and antioxidant activities of vine tea water extracts

Background:Ampelopsis grossedentata,vine tea,which is the tea alternative beverages in *** vine tea processing,a large amount of broken tea is produced,which has low commercial ***:This study investigates the influence of different extraction methods(room temperature water extraction,boiling water extraction,ultrasonic-assisted room temperature water extraction,and ultrasonic-assisted boiling water extraction,referred to as room temperature water extraction(RE),boiling water extraction(BE),ultrasonic assistance at room temperature water extraction(URE),and ultrasonic assistance in boiling water extraction(UBE))on the yield,dihydromyricetin(DMY)content,free amino acid composition,volatile aroma components,and antioxidant properties of vine tea ***:A notable influence of extraction temperature on the yield of vine tea extracts(P<0.05),with BE yielding the highest at 43.13±0.26%,higher than that of RE(34.29±0.81%).Ultrasound-assisted extraction significantly increased the DMY content of the extracts(P<0.05),whereas DMY content in the RE extracts was 59.94±1.70%,that of URE reached 66.14±2.78%.Analysis revealed 17 amino acids,with L-serine and aspartic acid being the most abundant in the extracts,nevertheless ultrasound-assisted extraction reduced total free amino acid *** chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis demonstrated an increase in the diversity and quantity of compounds in the vine tea water extracts obtained through ultrasonic-assisted ***,69 and 68 volatile compounds were found in URE and UBE extracts,which were higher than the number found in RE and BE *** vitro,antioxidant activity assessments revealed varying antioxidant capacities among different extraction methods,with RE exhibiting the highest DPPH scavenging rate,URE leading in ABTS•+free radical scavenging,and BE demonstrating superior ferric ion reducing antioxidant ***:The findings suggest that extraction methods signi

From the perspective of resource-theoretic approach,this study explores the quantification of imaginary in quantum *** propose a well defined measure of imaginarity,the geometric-like measure of *** with the usual geometric imaginarity measure,this geometric-like measure of imaginarity exhibits smaller decay difference under quantum noisy channels and higher *** applications,we show that both the optimal probability of state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations,and the maximal probability of stochastic-approximate state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations with a given fidelity f,are given by the geometric-like measure of imaginarity.

Atomic-scale insights into microscopic mechanisms of grain boundary segregation in Al−Cu alloys

This study aims to clarify the mechanisms for the grain boundary(GB)segregation through investigating the absorption of excess solute atoms at GBs in Al−Cu alloys by using the hybrid molecular dynamics/Monte Carlo *** segregation mechanisms,substitutional and interstitial mechanisms,are *** intergranular defects,including dislocations,steps and vacancies,and the intervals in structural units are conductive to the prevalence of interstitial *** substitutional mechanism is favored by the highly ordered twin ***,the two mechanisms affect the GB structure *** is quantified that interstitial mechanism is less destructive to GB structure than substitutional one,and often leads to a segregation level being up to about 6 times higher than the *** findings contribute to atomic scale insights into the microscopic mechanisms about how solute atoms are absorbed by GB structures,and clarify the correlation among intergranular structures,segregation mechanisms and kinetics.

Temperature-sensitive Micelles as Artificial Chaperones for Insulin Protection

Insulin is an essential and versatile protein taking part in the control of blood glucose levels and protein ***,under prolonged storage or high temperature stress,insulin tends to unfold and aggregate into toxic amyloid fibrils,leading to loss of physiological *** by natural chaperones,a series of temperature-sensitive polycaprolactone-based micelles were designed to prevent insulin from *** micelles were fabricated through the self-assembly of amphiphilic copolymers of methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(4-diethylformamide caprolactone-co-caprolactone)(mPEG_(17)-P(DECL-co-CL)),which had a regular spherical morphology with particle sizes of about 100 *** addition,the lower critical solution temperature(LCST)of the micelles could be tuned to 9 and 29℃by changing the ratio of DECL to *** from the temperature-sensitivity of DECL segment,the binding ability of micelles to insulin could be modulated by changing the *** LCST,micelles effectively inhibited insulin aggregation and protected it from thermal inactivation due to the strong binding ability between the hydrophobic segment DECL and *** LCST,DECL segment returned to hydrophilic and bound weakly with insulin,leading to the release of insulin and assisting in its recovery of secondary ***,these temperature-sensitive micelles provided an effective strategy for insulin protection.

The big-tapered profiled ring disk is a key component of engines for rockets and missiles.A new forming technology,as called spinning-rolling process,has been proposed previously for the high performance,high efficiency and low-cost manufacturing of the *** design is the key part of plastic forming process *** spinning-rolling process,the shape and size of the blank play a crucial role in process stability,deformation behavior and dimensional *** this work proposes a blank design method to determine the geometry structure and sizes of the *** mathematical model for calculating the blank size has been deduced based on volume conservation and neutral layer length invariance *** FE simulation and corresponding trial production of an actual big-tapered profiled ring disk show that the proposed blank design method is *** order to obtain a preferred blank,the influence rules of blank size determined by different deformation degrees(rolling ratio k)on the spinning-rolling process are revealed by comprehensive FE *** considering the process stability,circularity of the deformed ring disk and forming forces,a reasonable range of deformation degree(rolling ratio k)is recommended for the blank design of the new spinning-rolling process.

Practical approach for detecting k-nonseparability of multipartite quantum states

The instantaneous detection of entanglement in quantum states poses a significant challenge in the fields of quantum computation and quantum information,and there are no practical methods or tools to complete this task satisfactorily so *** propose a sufficient and necessary criterion of k-nonseparability for any n-partite finite or infinite dimensional systems,2≤k≤*** criterion serves as the foundation for a practical scheme designed to detect entanglement and k-nonseparability across multipar-tite finite-dimensional *** exemplify the application of our scheme,we have developed a software tool that facilitates swift and precise identification of entanglement,k-nonseparability,and genuine entanglement within n-qubit systems,specifically tailored for systems with 2≤n≤4.
