Objective:To classify 21 new isolates of Trypanosoma cruai(***) according to the Discrete Typing Unit(DTU) which they belong to,as well as tune up a new pair of primers designed to detect the parasite in biological ***:strains were isolated,DNA extracted,and classified by using three Polymerase Chain Reactions(PCR).subsequently this DNA was used along with other isolates of various biological samples,for a new PCR using primers ***,the amplified fragments were ***:It was observed the predominance of DTU i in Colombia,as well as the specificity of our primers for detection of ***,while no band was obtained when other species were ***:This work reveals the genetic variability of 21 new isolates of *** in *** primers confirmed their specificity for detecting the presence of ***.

Olfactory ensheathing glia promote axonal regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system,including retinal ganglion cell axonal growth through the injured optic ***,it is unknown whether olfactory ensheathing glia also have neuroprotective *** ensheathing glia express brain-derived neurotrophic factor,one of the best neuroprotectants for axotomized retinal ganglion ***,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective capacity of olfactory ensheating glia after optic nerve *** ensheathing glia cells from an established rat immortalized clonal cell line,TEG3,were intravitreally injected in intact and axotomized retinas in syngeneic and allogeneic mode with or without microglial inhibition or immunosuppressive *** and gene expression analyses were *** bulb-derived primary olfactory ensheathing glia and TEG3 express major histocompatibility complex classⅡ*** and syngenically transplanted TEG3 cells survived in the vitreous for up to 21 days,forming an *** axotomized retinas,only the allogeneic TEG3 transplant rescued retinal ganglion cells at 7 days but not at 21 *** these retinas,microglial anatomical activation was higher than after optic nerve crush *** intact retinas,both transplants activated microglial cells and caused retinal ganglion cell death at 21 days,a loss that was higher after allotransplantation,triggered by pyroptosis and partially rescued by microglial inhibition or ***,neuroprotection of axotomized retinal ganglion cells did not improve with these *** different neuroprotective properties,different toxic effects,and different responses to microglial inhibitory treatments of olfactory ensheathing glia in the retina depending on the type of transplant highlight the importance of thorough preclinical studies to explore these variables.

Aim:surgical treatment of clinically negative neck in maxillary squamous cell carcinoma(sCC)of the upper jaw is *** purpose of this systematic review was to define the incidence of cervical metastasis and to assess if elective neck dissection is justified when the neck is not primarily ***:An electronic literature search was conducted in several databases,including MEDLINE,EMBAsE,and Cochrane Central databases,for articles written in ***:Twenty-eight articles were included in the *** overall cervical metastases rate was 33%and the total initial cervical metastases rate was 16%.Interestingly,the author found that 71%of patients with cervical metastases from maxillary sCC carcinoma were T3/T4 ***:This review shows the need for a change in the management of the N0 neck in sCC arising in the maxillary alveolus and hard *** neck dissection should be performed in patients with T3/T4 tumours with clinic or radiographic negative necks(N0c).

Aim:Traditional donor site closure from radial forearm free flap(RFFF)has been associated with esthetic and functional *** avoid complications,such as color mismatch and secondary donor site morbidity,a new technique named‘‘Iberic graft’’for covering the RFFF donor site was described previously by our ***:A study of patients who underwent reconstruction of head and neck defects using a RFFF was conducted to assess postoperative complications of the RFFF donor site and also to evaluate the morbidity in terms of aesthetics and function following the use of the“Iberic graft”.The donor site was covered by the use of a combined local triangular full-thickness skin *** match,quality of the scar,presence of necrosis,dehiscence of the suture or tendon exposure were recorded and ***:One hundred and twenty-five consecutive patients undergoing RFFF harvesting were *** donor site defects ranged from 15 cm2 to 70 cm2;9 patients(7%)had small dehiscences of the forearm skin graft,whereas 2 cases(1.6%)presented tendon ***,partial skin graft loss occurred in a few *** all cases,these sites healed secondarily by conservative management,with no final impairment of *** of the forearm donor site at 1 to 3 months after the primary surgical procedure showed complete defect coverage,good color match,and no scarring along the graft ***:The“Iberic graft”is a reliable method for closing most of RFFF donor site defects as it provides excellent color match and pliability,while obviates the need for a second surgical site.

This paper presents assessments of the fragmentation of the temperate and tropical forests in Mexico at the national level for two dates 1993 and *** study was based on land use and vegetation cover data sets scale 1：250,*** broad forest types（Temperate Forests and Tropical Forests） and five more specific forest types（Broadleaf Forests,and Coniferous Forests;Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests,Tropical sub-evergreen Forests,and Tropical Evergreen Forests） were defined to conduct the *** 3.3 was used to estimate nine metrics of the spatial pattern of the forests for each forest type and date *** results indicate that the land cover transitions that have occurred between 1993 and 2002 have resulted in more isolated forest patches with simpler shapes in both the Temperate and Tropical *** remaining Tropical Forest patches have become smaller and more *** contrast,the remaining Temperate Forest patches are fewer and on average *** the more specific forest types defined in this study,the Broadleaf Forests have the highest indicators of *** these forests are usually embedded or adjacent to Coniferous *** more concern for conservation purposes are the high values of fragmentation metrics found for the Tropical Evergreen Forests and Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests,because these forest types are usually surrounded by non-forest land covers or anthropogenic land uses.

The authors present the double-paddled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap as a successful alternative for the reconstruction of complex orocervical defects following failure of prior microvascularized free flaps or free flap harvest is not feasible. This method was used for the reconstruction of post-ablative defect in a 36-year-old male with a T4 squamous cell carcinoma of the base of tongue with laryngeal involvement. The distal paddle was adapted to reconstruct a defect of the floor of the mouth and further sutured in two layers (muscle-basal mandible and skin paddle-oral mucosa) while the proximal skin paddle was used to close the cervical skin and the peri-tracheostomy defect.

AIM： To evaluate rational and experiential intelligence in irritable bowel syndrome （IBs） sufferers. METHODs： We recruited 100 subjects with IBs as per Rome 11 criteria （50 consulters and 50 non-consulters） and 100 healthy controls, matched by age, sex and educational level. Cases and controls completed a clinical questionnaire （including symptom characteristics and medical consultation） and the following tests： rational- intelligence （Wechsler Adult Intelligence scale, 3rd edition）; experiential-intelligence （Constructive Thinking Inventory）; personality （NEO personality inventory）; psychopathology （MMPI-2）, anxiety （state-trait anxiety inventory） and life events （social readjustment rating scale）. Analysis of variance was used to compare the test results of IBs-sufferers and controls, and a logistic regression model was then constructed and adjusted for age, sex and educational level to evaluate any possible association with IBs. REsULTs： No differences were found between IBs cases and controls in terms of IQ （102.0 ± 10.8 vs 102.8 ± 12.6）, but IBs sufferers scored significantly lower in global constructive thinking （43.7± 9.4 vs 49.6 ± 9.7）. In the logistic regression model, global constructive thinking score was independently linked to suffering from IBs [OR 0.92 （0.87-0.97）], without significant OR for total IQ. CONCLUsION： IBs subjects do not show lower rational intelligence than controls, but lower experiential intelligence is nevertheless associated with IBs.

Forest managers and policy makers increasingly demand to have access to estimates of forest fragmentation, human accessibility to forest areas and levels of anthropogenic pressure on the remaining forests to integrate them into monitoring systems, management and conservation plans. Forest fragmentation is defined as the breaking up of a forest unit, where the number of patches and the amount of expose edge increase while the amount of core area decreases. Forest fragmentation studies in Mexico have been limited to local or regional levels and have concen- trated only on specific forest types. This paper presents an assessment of the fragmentation of all forest types at the national level, their effective proximity to anthropogenic influences, and the development of an indica- tor of anthropogenic pressure on the forests areas. Broadleaf forests, tropical evergreen forests and tropical dry deciduous forests show the greatest fragmentation. Almost half （47%） of the tropical forests are in close effective proximity to anthropogenic influences and only 12% of their area can be considered isolated from anthropogenic influences. The values for the temperate forests are 23% and 29% respectively. Anthro- pogenic pressure in the immediate vicinity of anthropogenic activities is much higher in the tropical forests （75 in a scale 0-100） than in the tem- perate forests （30）. When considering these results jointly, the tropical forests, and more specifically, the tropical evergreen forests and tropical dry deciduous forests are under the greatest pressure and risks of degra- dation.

Bucaramanga, with a population of about one million, is the capital of the Department of santander （Colombia）, and has the Rio surata as its main source of drinking water. In the upper reaches of the river, small-scale gold mining has been going onfor many centuries （Vetas-California mining district）. Geologically, the Vetas-California mining district is part of the santander Massif which is composed of pre-Devonian metamorphic rocks and Mesozoic igneous rocks. The mineralisation is restricted to structurally controlled veins and is often associated with hydrothermal alteration. There is also disseminated mineralisation, but presently only the vein-type is mined. The processing residues are discharged into the nearby watercourses, contaminating the waters of the surata river basin. As part of a joint Colombian-German technical cooperation project, with the purpose of controlling the negative environmental effects of gold mining pollution, an integrated distillation system for the recovery of mercuury. has been designed and tested.
