The current study relates to designing a swarming computational paradigm to solve the influenza disease system(IDS).The nonlinear system’s mathematical form depends upon four classes:susceptible individuals,infected people,recovered individuals and cross-immune *** solutions of the IDS are provided by using the artificial neural networks(ANNs)together with the swarming computational paradigm-based particle swarmoptimization(PSO)and interior-point scheme(IPA)that are the global and local search *** ANNs-PSO-IPA has never been applied to solve the *** a merit function in the sense of mean square error is constructed using the differential form of each class of the IDS and then optimized by the *** correctness and accuracy of the scheme are observed to perform the comparative analysis of the obtained IDS results with the Adams solutions(reference solutions).An absolute error in suitable measures shows the precision of the proposed ANNs procedures and the optimization efficiency of the ***,the reliability and competence of the proposed computing method are enhanced through the statistical performances.

Hepatitis C eradication with sofosbuvir leads to significant metabolic changes

AIMTo assess the effect of sofosbuvir (SOF) based regimens on glycemic and lipid control. METHODSThis is a retrospective analysis of hepatitis C virus (HCV)-infected patients treated and cured with a SOF regimen [SOF/ribavirin/interferon, SOF/simeprevir, or SOF/ledipasvir (LDV) ± ribavirin] from January 2014 to March 2015. Patients with hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) and lipid panels within six months before and six months after therapy were identified and included in our study. Due to the known hemolytic effect of ribavirin, HbA1C was obtained a minimum of three months post-treatment for the patients treated with a ribavirin regimen. Medical history, demographics, HCV genotype, pre-therapy RNA, and liver biopsies were included in our analysis. The patients who started a new medication or had an adjustment of baseline medical management for hyperlipidemia or diabetes mellitus (DM) were excluded from our analysis. RESULTSTwo hundred and thirty-four patients were reviewed, of which 60 patients met inclusion criteria. Sixty-three point three percent were male, 26.7% were Caucasian, 41.7% were African American and 91.7% were infected with hepatitis C genotype 1. Mean age was 60.6 ± 6.7 years. Thirty-nine patients had HbA1C checked before and after treatment, of which 22 had the diagnosis of DM type 2. HbA1C significantly decreased with treatment of HCV (pretreatment 6.66% ± 0.95% vs post-treatment 6.14% ± 0.65%, P vs 0.71% ± 0.83%, P = 0.070). Fifty-two patients had pre- and post-treatment lipid panels; there was a significant increase in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and total cholesterol (TC) after treatment (LDL: 99.5 ± 28.9 mg/dL vs 128.3 ± 34.9 mg/dL, P vs 199.7 ± 40.0 mg/dL, P P = 0.684). CONCLUSIONEradication of HCV with a SOF regimen resulted in a significant drop in HbA1C and an increase in LDL and TC post therapy.

The liver is one of the most important organs in the body,performing a fundamental role in the regulationof diverse processes,among which the metabolism,secretion,storage,and detoxification of endogenous and exogenous substances are *** to these functions,hepatic diseases continue to be among the main threats to public health,and they remain problems throughout the *** enormous advances in modern medicine,there are no completely effective drugs that stimulate hepatic function,that offer complete protection of the organ,or that help to regenerate hepatic ***,it is necessary to identify pharmaceutical alternatives for the treatment of liver diseases,with the aim of these alternatives being more effective and less *** use of some plants and the consumption of different fruits have played basic roles in human health care,and diverse scientific investigations have indicated that,in those plants and fruits so identified,their beneficial effects can be attributed to the presence of chemical compounds that are called *** present review had as its objective the collecting of data based on research conducted into some fruits(grapefruit,cranberries,and grapes)and plants[cactus pear(nopal)and cactus pear fruit,chamomile,silymarin,and spirulina],which are consumed frequently by humans and which have demonstrated hepatoprotective capacity,as well as an analysis of a resin(propolis)and some phytochemicals extracted from fruits,plants,yeasts,and algae,which have been evaluated in different models of hepatotoxicity.

bstract>The recent development of a prosaposin -/- mouse model has allowed the investigation of the role of prosaposin in the development of the male reproductive organs. A morphometric analysis of the male reproductive system of 37 days old mice revealed that prosaposin ablation produced a 30 % reduction in size and weight of the testes, 37 % of the epididymis, 75 % of the seminal vesicles and 60 % of the prostate glands. Light microscopy (LM) showed that smaller testis size from homozygous mutant mice was associated with reduced spermiogenesis. both, dorsal and ventral lobules of the prostate glands were underdeveloped in the homozygous mutant. LM analysis also showed that prostatic alveoli were considerably smaller and lined by shorter epithelial cells in the homozygous mutant. Smaller tubular diameter and shorter undifferentiated epithelial cells were also observed in seminal vesicles and epididymis. In the efferent ducts of the homozygous mutant mice, the epithelium was composed exclusively of ciliated cells in contrast to the heterozygotes, which showed the presence of nonciliated cells. Radioimmunoassays demonstrated that testosterone levels were normal or higher in mice with the inactivated prosaposin gene. Immunostaining of prostate sections with an anti-androgen receptor antibody showed that the epithelial cells lining the alveoli express androgen receptor in both the heterozygous and homozygous tissue. Similarly, sections immunostained with antibodies to the phosphorylated MAPKs and Akts strongly reacted with tall prostatic secretory cells in prostate from heterozygous mouse. On the other hand, the epithelial cells in the homozygous prostate remained unstained or weakly stained. These findings demonstrate that inactivation of the prosaposin gene affected the development of the prostate gland and some components of the MAPK pathway. 63 )

Vergence eye movements are the inward and outward rotation of the eyes responsible for binocular *** studies have mapped and investigated the neural substrates of vergence,it is not well understood whether vergence eye movements evoke the blood oxygen level-dependent signal reliably in separate experimental *** test-retest reliability of stimulus-induced vergence eye movement tasks during a functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)experiment is important for future randomized clinical trials(RCTs).In this study,we established region of interest(ROI)masks for the vergence neural ***-seven binocularly normal young adults participated in two functional imaging sessions measured on different days on the same 3 T Siemens *** fMRI experiments used a block design of sustained visual fixation and rest blocks interleaved between task blocks that stimulated eight or four vergence eye *** test-retest reliability of task-activation was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC),and that of spatial extent was assessed using the Dice *** activation during the vergence eye movement task of eight movements compared to rest was repeatable within the primary visual cortex(ICC=0.8),parietal eye fields(ICC=0.6),supplementary eye field(ICC=0.5),frontal eye fields(ICC=0.5),and oculomotor vermis(ICC=0.6).The results demonstrate significant test-retest reliability in the ROIs of the vergence neural substrates for functional activation magnitude and spatial extent using the stimulus protocol of a task block stimulating eight vergence eye movements compared to sustained *** ROIs can be used in future longitudinal RCTs to study patient populations with vergence dysfunctions.

Effect of Sn precursor on the synthesis of SnO2 and Sb-doped SnO2 particles via polymeric precursor method

SnO2 and Sb-doped SnO2 particles were synthesized using the polymeric precursor method with different Sn salt precursors： SnCl2.2H2O, SnCl4.5H20, or Sn citrate. Sb2O3 was used as the precursor of Sb, and the molar ratio of nsn：nsb was held constant. FTIR and TGA/DTA were used to examine the influence of the Sn precursor on the formation and thermal decomposition of the Sn and Sn-Sb complexes. The calcination products obtained from heating the Sn and Sn-Sb complexes at 500℃ in air were analyzed using XRD and TEM analysis. The results revealed that the SnO2 and Sb-doped SnO2 formation temperatures depended on the nature of the Sn precursor. The calcination products were found to be SnO2 and Sb-doped SnO2 particles, which crystallized in a tetragonal cassiterite structure with a highly preferred （110） planar orientation. The Sn precursor and the presence of Sb in the SnO2 matrix strongly influenced the crystallinity and lattice parameters.
