Abstract：Objectives:To review the calendar,mortality and morbidity of Iraq-Iran chemical war among Iranians based on researchers' ***:We used national and international databanks such as PubMed,ISI,Scopus,Irandoc and Iranmedex and studied 350 articles related to chemical agents and their effects on different *** main criteria for qualification of articles were relevancy orientation and being published in approved medical ***:The Iraqi army invaded to west and southwest Iran using chemical weapons such as nerve agents (NAs) and sulfur mustard (SM).Most victims were civilians including women and *** attacks had imposed more than 150 types of diseases and complications on Iranians and the frequency of death was 2％-3％.Most reports were about respiratory problems and a few were in the domain of socio-economic ***:At present,25 years after the end of war,the victims are faced with different complications induced by chemical agents and it is estimated that they will be continuously troubled by these problems in future。

Abstract：To review long-term respiratory effects of mustard gas on Iranian veterans having undergone IraqIran *** databases of Scopus,Medline,ISI,IranMedex,and Irandoc *** *** accepted articles published in scientific journals as a quality *** main pathogenic factors are free radical *** of pulmonary involvement is approximately 42.5％.The most common complaints are cough and *** respiratory complications are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,bronchiectasis,and *** resuits can reveal restrictive and obstructive pulmonary *** chest X-ray does not help in about 50％ of lung ***-resolution CT of the lung is the best modality for diagnostic assessment of parenchymal lung and *** is no definite curative treatment for mustard *** effective treatment regimens consist of oxygen administration,use of vaporized moist air,respiratory physiotherapy,administration of mucolytic agents,bronchodilators,corticosteroids,and long-acting beta-2 agonists,antioxidants,surfactant,magnesium ions,therapeutic bronchoscopy,laser therapy,placement of respiratory stents,early tracheostomy in laryngospasm,and ultimately lung ***-resolution CT of the lung is the most accurate modality for the evaluation of the lung parenchyma and *** treatment efficacy of patients exposed to mustard gas depends on patient conditions (acute or chronic,upper or lower respiratory tract involvement).There are various treatment protocols,but unfortunately none of them is defmitely curable。

The main ideas in the development of the solvent extraction mixer settler focused on achieving clean phase separation,minimizing the loss of the reagents and decreasing the surface area of the *** role of baffles in a mechanically agitated vessel is to ensure even distribution,reduce settler turbulence,promote the stability of power drawn by the impeller and to prevent swirling and vortexing of liquid,thus,greatly improving the mixing of *** insertion of the appropriate number of baffles clearly improves the extent of liquid ***,excessive baffling would interrupt liquid mixing and lengthen the mixing *** fluid dynamics(CFD) provides a tool for determining detailed information on fluid flow(hydrodynamics) which is necessary for modeling subprocesses in mixer settler.A total of 54 final CFD runs were carried out representing different combinations of variables like number of baffles,density and impeller *** data shows that amount of separation increases with increasing baffles number and decreasing impeller speed.

Background: So far, five types of prevention including: primordial, primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary prevention levels have been defined in literatures. Aim: In this study, we have proposed “prevention of malpractice” as the other level of prevention. Methods: Qualitative comparison of the data, obtained from the review of conducted studies by using of scientific literatures, registered in PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus sites. Results: Bringing dozens of examples of “malpractice” in the five areas of prevention. Conclusion: We concluded that, “malpractice” may be occurred at all levels of prevention and preventing it can be considered as the other level of prevention.

Background: The sources of respiratory disorders commonly occurred during the Hajj ceremony are now challenging and its infectious or allergic nature remained unknown. The present comprehensive study was conducted to assess sources of respiratory disorders in Hajj pilgrims. Method: In this prospective observational study, blood samples of 130 pilgrims were taken for assessment of serum levels of infectious and allergic sources. The measurement of IgA, IgG, IgM was used for assessment of infectious reactions against microbial antigens, NBT test was employed to assess phagocytic functions, and the measurement of gamma interferon was used for assessing immunity status against infections. Also, measurement of IgE and IL-4 was applied as two markers for assessing allergic reactions. The ELISA test was also used to assess serum levels of immunoglobulin A, G, M, E, IL-4 and gamma interferon before and three weeks after returning from Hajj ceremony. All of the volunteers were followed up along the trip and the involved pilgrim’s characteristics were recorded. Results: The present study showed no significant change in the level of allergic biomarkers including IgE and IL-4, however the mean levels of IgM, gamma Interferon and NBT test were increased after the trip compared with before that. Conclusion: Infections play a major role in occurrence of respiratory disorders among Hajj pilgrims and thus the role of allergic sources is doubtful.

Background: Respiratory disorders are the most common diseases among Iranian pilgrims in Hajj. Some studies recommended flu and pneumococcal vaccines separately or in combination to reduce respiratory diseases occurrence and its morbidity. These effects are not clear in afflicted Hajj pilgrims. Objective: This is a cohort study that investigates the effects of above-mentioned vaccines each or their combination on respiratory syndromes and their consequences among Iranian pilgrims in Mecca. Method: The participants were 295 Iranian pilgrims from the beginning to the end of the journey. They were systematically observed for getting afflicted with a respiratory syndrome or not. In this study, we have assessed the effects of flu and pneumococcal vaccines on respiratory disease occurrence and on 8 clinical consequences including as: the duration of fever, duration of cough, duration of bed rest, presence of post nasal discharge and dirty sputum, the total disease length, and the number of referrals to the hospital, physician’s visits and complications. The data for this study were gathered through a questionnaire with 14 basic questions and 60 choices. This was processed using the SPSS software of 11.5 version, T- and Chi-square tests. Results: The results showed no significant correlations between the above-mentioned factors and vaccination with one or both flu and pneumovax-23 except for the duration of coughs which was significantly reduced in all cases (p < 0.01) and also decreased complications of the disease (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The study suggests the high-risk groups, should be vaccinated with combination of flu and pneumovax-23 vaccines in Hajj.

Noise pollution is one of the common physical harmful factors in many work *** current study aimed to assess personal and environmental sound pressure level and project the sound-Isosonic map in one of the razavi Khorasan Paste manufacture using Surfer V.14 and Noise at work *** cross-sectional,descrip-tive study is analytical that was conducted in 2018 in the Paste factory that contains Canister,production and Brewing *** ISO 9612:2009,Casella Cel-320 was used to measure personal sound pressure level,while CEL-450 sound level meter(manufactured by Casella-Cel,the UK)was employed to assess environmental sound pressure *** analyzes was done using SPSS V.18 and Linear Regression *** sound-isosonic maps were projected using Surfer V.14 and Noise at work *** results of assessing personal sound pressure level indicated that the highest received dose(172.21%)and personal equivalent sound level(87.36 dBA)were recorded for workers in the Canister *** to results of measuring of the environmental sound pressure level,out of 16 measurement stations in this unit,overall 87.5%were regarded as danger and caution *** lowest and highest sound pressure levels in this units were 61 dBA and 92 dBA that belong to Brewing and Canister units *** indicate Over 75%of the Canister and production units had a sound pressure level greater than 85 dBA and these two units were regarded as the most dangerous area in terms of noise *** is there-fore necessary to implement noise control measures,apply hearing protection program and auditory tests among workers in these units.
