Comparison of functional outcomes among subtypes of Fraser’s typeⅡfloating knee

Purpose The poor prognosis in patients with floating knee injuries is mainly contributed to articular involvement(Fraser’s typeⅡ).This study aims to evaluate and compare the functional outcomes among different Fraser’s typeⅡfloating knee injuries after surgical *** Twenty-seven patients with Fraser’s typeⅡfloating knee injuries(54 fractures)between September 2014 and December 2015 were enrolled prospectively in this study and were distributed according to Fraser’s floating knee classification into three different groups as typeⅡA(ipsilateral femoral shaft and tibial intra-articular involvement,n=11),typeⅡB(ipsilateral tibial shaft and femoral intra-articular involvement,n=9)and typeⅡC(both femoral and tibial intra-articular involvement,n=7).The differences among the groups were evaluated and *** functional outcomes of these injuries at one year were analyzed using Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score(KOOS)which covers 5 subscales of pain,other symptoms,activities of daily living,sports and recreation,and quality of *** result was also compared with standardized age-sex matched healthy population using paired samples *** All the patients were male,and the injury mechanism was solely roadside *** mean age was 29.8 years and injury severity score 17.9(comparable in all the three groups).Most injuries were observed on the right side(20 cases,74.1%).Based on paired samples t-test,the KOOS score of patients with Fraser’s typeⅡA was found to be better than that of typeⅡB and typeⅡ*** with the reference age-sex matched control group,patients with Fraser’s typeⅡB andⅡC fractures had significantly lower mean score in all KOOS subscales(all p<0.01).However,Fraser’s typeⅡA only revealed significant difference regarding the subscales of activities of daily living(p<0.0001),sports and recreation(p<0.0001),and quality of life(p<0.0001).Conclusion The results of this study show that patients with Fraser’s typeⅡA fractu

Distribution of geochemical fractions of phosphorus and its ecological risk in sediment cores of a largest brackish water lake, South Asia

The current study focuses on the vertical profile of different geochemical fractions of phosphorus-loosely bound(Lo–P), aluminium bound(Al–P), iron bound(Fe–P), calcium bound(Ca–P), and organic bound phosphorus(O–P) along with ecological risk assessment of sediment cores from Chilika Lake, eastcoast of India. The percentage contribution of the different fractions to the sedimentary phosphorus in the sediment column of the whole lake are on the order: O–P(33.2%) 4 Ca–P(20.3%) 4 Fe–P(18%) 4 Al–P(6.7%) 4 Lo–P(0.35%). The Phosphorus Pollution Index(PPI) revealed the contamination of lake sediment with phosphorus. The principal component and cluster analyses highlighted the anthropogenic contribution of phosphorus. The negative loading of Ca–P with Ca points towards its origin from marine shells. The discriminate analysis showed that the variables like Ca–P, bio-available phosphorus(BAP), and p H were able to effectively discriminate the sectors in a significant manner.

提出一种关于单点渐进成形(SPIF)部件的特征检测的新型算法。基于自建的关于SPIF的CAPP专家系统,通过对几何形状、曲率、位置、方位、加工参数的综合分析,可以检测33种不同的特征可以检测。为了加快检测过程,首先使用多级边缘分割算法创建一个边缘特征的框架。随后在这个框架中,区域生长算法被用来检测剩余的特征。这个检测方法已经成功地被不同的实验所验证。采用一个双曲面半球的实验案例描述通过对检测的特征进行补偿,从而生成最优的刀具路径。结果显示,优化的刀具路径对于成形部件的精度有很大的提高。

The status of infant health in India

This paper investigates the present status of infant health in India through percentages of infants who are undernourished, not immunized or diseased and finds its relationship with socio-demographic variables. The relevant data have been obtained from the Third National Family Health Survey which was carried out in 2005-2006 in India. The sample consists of 7562 infants (i.e., children of less than 1 year). For socio-demographic data, places of residence, sex of infants, ethnic composition, religion and wealth index were considered. Considering the different types of under-nutrition, it has been found from our data that the percentages of undernourished infants range from 22 to 28 only. There are considerable variations in the different types of immunization status ranging from 17.9% opting for measles vaccination to 73.2% taking BCG vaccination. Prevalence of morbidity also varies from 15 to 22 percent depending on the three types of morbidity considered in this paper. Among the socio-economic variables, mother’s education and wealth index have been found to have profound effect on the nutritional status and also on morbidity of infants but there is no impact found on the status immunization. Thus it gives clear cut indications for the government and NGOs to take actions to ameliorate poverty and to improve the level of education, especially of female population in India.

A Distributed Model for Real-Time Flood Forecasting in the Godavari Basin Using Space Inputs

Hydrological modelling of large river catchments has become a challenging task for water resources engineers due to its complexity in collecting and handling of both spatial and non-spatial data such as rainfall,gauge-discharge data,and topographic and hydraulic *** this article,a flood forecast model is developed for the Godavari Basin,India through a distributed modelling approach using space *** approach includes rainfall runoff modelling,hydrodynamic flow routing,calibration,and validation of the model with field discharge *** study basin is divided into 128 subbasins to improve the model *** and hydraulic parameters of each subbasin and channel are computed using the land use/land cover grid that is derived from the Indian Remote Sensing Satellite(IRS–P6) AWi FS sensor data(56 m resolution),Shuttled Radar Topographic Mission(SRTM) Digital Elevation Model(DEM),and the soil textural *** model is calibrated using the field hydrometeorological data of 2000 and validated with the data of *** model was tested during the 2010 floods with real-time 3-hour interval hydrometeorological and daily evapotranspiration *** in estimating the peak flood discharge and lag time was found to be very *** forecast lead time is increased by 12 hours compared to conventional methods of forecasting.

The polycrystalline sample of LiSr2Nb5O15(LSN)was prepared by a high-temperature solid state reaction *** impedance parameters were studied using an impedance analyzer in a wide range of frequencies(102-106 Hz)at different temperatures(28-500℃).Nyquist plot reveals the presence of bulk effect *** bulk resistance of the compound decreases with rise in temperature which shows the negative temperature coefficient of resistance(NTCR)like a *** ac conductivity spectrum was found to obey Jonscher’s universal power *** conductivity(bulk)with temperature demonstrates that the compound exhibits Arrhenius type of electrical conductivity and the activation energy found to be 0.97 eV.

A novel series of 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-thiadiazoles as potential anticonvulsant agent

In pursuit for better antiepileptic drug and the importance of semicarbazones and 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-thiadiazoles as anticonvulsant pharmacophore, a series of novel N-（{5-[（6-methyl-l-benzofuran-3-yl）methyl]-l,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl}carba- mothioyl）-2/3/4-substitutedbenzamide were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity. The findings of the present studies confirmed that the pharmacophore model with four binding sites is crucial for anticonvulsant activity. Structure-activity relationships among synthesized compounds were also established.
