Characteristics of the recirculation zone in a cylindrical confined space and its suppression by an annular orifice plate

The accumulation of pollutants in the recirculation zone can worsen ventilation.It is critical to reduce recirculation zones to improve the ventilation efficiency of buildings.However,the variation rule of the recirculation zone in a cylindrical confined space(CCS)is unclear,and there are few solutions to suppress or eliminate the recirculation zone at present.In this paper,an annular deflector orifice plate for suppressing the recirculation zone was developed based on the structural characteristics of the CCS.This device is simple in structure and can be used flexibly.Through experiments and numerical simulations,the variation rule of the recirculation zone length and the influence of structural parameters of the device on the vortex suppression were explored.Firstly,empirical formulas for calculating the length of the recirculation zone in the CCS were obtained.In addition,it was proved that placing the annular orifice plate inside the CCS effectively reduced the recirculation zone and improved the ventilation efficiency.Compared to the system without the annular orifice plate,the dimensionless length of the recirculation zone was decreased by 76.3%,and the time to completely discharge the pollutants from the CCS was decreased by 16.7%.Finally,parameters of the annular orifice plate that form the best vortex suppression effect were proposed:the porosity range was 40%–50%,uniform in shape with equal ring spacing,and placed more than one inlet diameter away from the inlet.The results help guide the ventilation design of CCS.

1 Introduction Deep neural networks have exhibited excellent performance in supervised tasks on point clouds,such as classification,segmentation[1]and registration[2].In supervised learning schemes,manual labeling of massive point clouds is needed for model training.However,point clouds captured from different scenarios exist inevitable distribution discrepancy,and model trained from one domain always generalize badly in another domain.To reduce the doamin distribution discrepancy,many studies[3–6]have emerged for point cloud unsupervised domain adaptation(UDA)by learning domain-invariant features,where[5]proposed using adaptive nodes to align the local features between the source and the target domains[3,4],and[6]proposed utilizing self-supervised tasks to help capture highly transferable feature representations.

We propose a method of reliable tracking orientation and flexible step size fiber tracking. A new directional strategy was defined to select one optimal tracking orientation from each directional set, which was based on the single-tensor model and the two-tensor model. The directional set of planar voxels contained three tracking directions： two from the two-tensor model and one from the single- tensor model. The directional set of linear voxels contained only one principal vector. In addition, a flexible step size, rather than fixable step sizes, was implemented to improve the accuracy of fiber tracking. We used two sets of human data to assess the performance of our method; one was from a healthy volunteer and the other from a patient with low-grade glioma. Results verified that our method was superior to the single-tensor Fiber Assignment by Continuous Tracking and the two-tensor eXtended Streamline Tractography for showing detailed images of fiber bundles.

川东北元坝地区千佛崖组二段半深湖相页岩具有良好的页岩油气勘探前景。通过层序划分,对页岩岩相发育特征进行研究,对不同页岩岩相控制下的储层特征进行分析,明确准层序格架下不同页岩岩相的成因及对储层发育的影响。研究结果表明:千佛崖组二段可划分为7个准层序,根据准层序内的沉积特征,可将准层序划分为湖侵旋回为主型、湖退旋回为主型和均衡型3种不同的沉积模式。千佛崖组二段页岩发育有纹层状页岩相、层状页岩相和块状页岩相三种主要岩相类型,纹层状页岩相整体孔隙更发育,连通性更好,储集物性更好;层状页岩相整体孔隙发育程度和储集物性较纹层状页岩相次之;块状页岩相孔隙发育情况不佳,连通性一般,物性较差。页岩储层受岩相影响呈现出不同的特征,页岩岩相的纵向演化明显受准层序的控制,不同准层序类型的页岩岩相发育特征存在明显差异。整体来看,优质储层在最大洪泛面附近更为发育,优质页岩储层主要发育在湖侵旋回为主型准层序的中上部,有机质富集、孔隙发育且连通性好,是下一步勘探的有利目标;湖退旋回为主型准层序的中下部发育次优储层。

Sugars,especially glucose and fructose,contribute to the taste and quality of tomato fruits.These compounds are translocated from the leaves to the fruits and then unloaded into the fruits by various sugar transporters at the plasma membrane.SWEETs,are sugar transporters that regulate sugar efflux independently of energy or pH.To date,the role of SWEETs in tomato has received very little attention.In this study,we performed functional analysis of SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 to gain insight into the regulation of sugar transport and storage in tomato fruits.SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 were mainly expressed in peduncles,vascular bundles,and seeds.Both SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 are plasma membrane-localized proteins that transport fructose,glucose,and sucrose.Apart from the resulting increase in mature fruit sugar content,silencing SlSWEET7a or SlSWEET14 resulted in taller plants and larger fruits(in SlSWEET7a-silenced lines).We also found that invertase activity and gene expression of some SlSWEET members increased,which was consistent with the increased availability of sucrose and hexose in the fruits.Overall,our results demonstrate that suppressing SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 could be a potential strategy for enhancing the sugar content of tomato fruits.

为准确测定高纯稀土氧化物中氟离子和氯离子的含量，通过硫酸预蒸馏降低空白值，稀土氧化物经硫酸分解，其中的氟和氯随水蒸气逸出与样品分离，经水吸收，用阴离子分离柱分离，以氢氧化钾溶液梯度淋洗，抑制型电导检测器检测，建立了水蒸气蒸馏对样品进行前处理，离子色谱法同时测定氟离子和氯离子的分析方法。通过保留时间对氟和氯进行定性分析，以标准曲线法对氟和氯进行定量分析，氟和氯的线性相关性为0.999 8和0.999 7,测定下限均为0.0006%。通过选择样品前处理方式、硫酸用量、样品量、蒸馏时间、吸收液等，确定实验的最佳条件。通过加标回收实验和方法比对实验评估验证方法的准确性，实验表明，氟和氯的加标回收率分别在88.2%～99.7%和95.5%～103%,与现有标准方法GB/T 12690—2003测定结果相比较，相对偏差小于5%。通过精密度实验验证方法的稳定性，氟和氯的相对标准偏差(n=11)分别为1.7%～4.1%和1.7%～7.6%。结果表明，所建立的分析方法检出限低、精密度良好、准确度高，适用于对高纯稀土氧化物中微量和痕量氟离子和氯离子的快速测定，为高纯稀土氧化物中杂质氟和氯的质量与评价提供技术支撑。

Low-temperature and high-voltage planar micro-supercapacitors based on anti-freezing hybrid gel electrolyte

Micro-supercapacitors(MSCs)are considered as highly competitive power sources for miniaturized electronics.However,narrow voltage window and poor anti-freezing properties of MSCs in conventional aqueous electrolytes lead to low energy density and limited environmental adaption.Herein,we report the construction of low-temperature and high-energy-density MSCs based on anti-freezing hybrid gel electrolytes(HGE)through introducing ethylene glycol(EG)additives into aqueous LiCl electrolyte.Since EG partially destroys hydrogen bond network among water molecules,the HGE exhibits maximum electrochemical stability window of 2.7 V and superior anti-freezing features with a glass transition temperature of-62.8℃.Further,the optimized MSCs using activated carbon microelectrodes possess impressive volumetric capacitance of 28.9 F cm^(-3)and energy density of 10.3 mWh cm^(-3)in the voltage of 1.6 V,2.6 times higher than MSCs tested in 1.2 V.Importantly,the MSCs display 68.3%capacitance retention even at-30℃ compared to the value at 25℃,and ultra-long cyclability with 85.7%of initial capacitance after 15,000 times,indicating extraordinary low-temperature performance.Besides,our devices offer favorable flexibility and modular integration.Therefore,this work provides a general strategy of realizing flexible,safe and anti-freezing microscale power sources,holding great potential towards subzero-temperature microelectronic applications.

Malaria is an important and worldwide fatal disease that has been widely reported by the World Health Organization(WHO),and it has about 219 million cases worldwide,with 435,000 of those mortal.The common malaria diagnosis approach is heavily reliant on highly trained experts,who use a microscope to examine the samples.Therefore,there is a need to create an automated solution for the diagnosis of malaria.One of the main objectives of this work is to create a design tool that could be used to diagnose malaria from the image of a blood sample.In this paper,we firstly developed a graphical user interface that could be used to help segment red blood cells and infected cells and allow the users to analyze the blood samples.Secondly,a Feed-forward Neural Network(FNN)is designed to classify the cells into two classes.The achieved results show that the proposed techniques can be used to detect malaria,as it has achieved 92%accuracy with a database that contains 27,560 benchmark images.
