In the present work,an attempt is made to partially replace high cost silica sand with sustainable eco-friendly *** practical utility of cow dung as an additive material that facilitates binding in sand moulds has been *** Taguchi method is used to plan and conduct nine experiments with three replicates *** analysis of variance study is performed to understand the practical significance of moulding sand variables,that is,percentage of cow dung,clay,water,and degree of ramming on sand mould *** conflicting multiple objective functions(maximize mould hardness,and minimize collapsibility and gas evolution)are optimized by utilizing the Data Envelopment Analysis Ranking(DEAR)*** optimal parameters i.e.6%of clay,4%of water,5%of cow-dung and 4 numbers of ramming strokes are obtained by applying a hybrid Taguchi-DEAR *** parameters show the best moulding properties are:mould hardness 55,gas evolution 5.9 ml·g-1,and collapsibility 470 g·***,a Lovejoy coupling made of aluminium is cast in the sand mould prepared with cow dung and without cow dung,with the optimum set of *** mechanical properties,surface finish,and microstructure of the casting cast with cow-dung are better than that without cowdung.

Synthesis and measurement of structural and magnetic properties of K-doped LacoO_3 perovskite materials

Polycrystalline La1-xKxcoO3 （0≤ x ≤ 0.2） rare earth cobaltates have been synthesized by a solution combustion method using glycine as a fuel. The synthesized ceramic materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, and magnetic measurements and studied for physical properties, such as photoeatalytic activity. FTIR measurements in conjunction with XRD showed that phases beyond 10% K doping are accompanied by small amounts of impurities. chemical titrations show the presence of co^4＋ and account for the co^3＋-co^4＋ mixed-valency of the system. The parent LacoO3 shows spin-glass transition at low temperatures, whereas doped samples show transition from spin-glass behavior to paramagnetic ordering on progressive doping of K. ＂Mixed-conductor＂ nature of these ceramics positions them as viable candidates for solid oxide fuel cell （SOFc） applications.

Rauvolfia serpentina-Mediated green Synthesis of cuO Nanoparticles and Its Multidisciplinary Studies

copper oxide nanoparticles （cuO Nps） were successfully synthesized by solution combustion method using aqueous leaf extract of Rauvolfia serpentina as a fuel. The structure and morphology of the cuO nanoparticles （Nps） were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction （PXRD）, UV-visible spectroscopy （UV-visible）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, etc. The PXRD patterns reveal the formation of monoclinic phase with crystallite structure. SEM images indicate that the particles have sponge-like structure being highly porous and agglom- erated with large surface area. The average crystallite sizes were found to be in the range of 10-20 nm by Scherrer＇s method. The cuO Nps size was further confirmed by TEM. Further, cuO Nps exhibit good photocatalytic activity for the photodegradation of trypan blue dye, indicating that it acts as a promising semiconducting material. The antibacterial properties of cuO nanoparticles were investigated against pathogenic bacterial strains, namely gram -ve Escherichia coli （NcIM-5051） and Pseudomonas desmolyticum （NcIM-2028） and gram ＋ve bacteria Staphylococcus aureus （NcIM- 5022） using the agar well diffusion method.

Stem cells:An eventual treatment option for heart diseases

Stem cells are of global excitement for various diseases including heart diseases. It is worth to understand the mechanism or role of stem cells in the treatment of heart failure. Bone marrow derived stem cells are commonly practiced with an aim to improve the function of the heart. The majority of studies have been conducted with acute myocardial infarction and a few has been investigated with the use of stem cells for treating chronic or dilated cardiomyopathy. Heterogeneity in the treated group using stem cells has greatly emerged. Ever increasing demand for any alternative made is of at most priority for cardiomyopathy. Stem cells are of top priority with the current impact that has generated among physicians. However,meticulous selection of proper source is required since redundancy is clearly evident with the present survey. This review focuses on the methods adopted using stem cells for heart diseases and outcomes that are generated so far with an idea to determine the best therapeutic possibility in order to fulfill the present demand.

Dormancy heterogeneity among Arabidopsis thaliana seeds is linked to individual seed size

Production of morphologically and physiologically variable seeds is an important strategy that helps plants to survive in unpredictable natural ***,the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and most agronomically essential crops produce visually homogenous *** automated phenotype analysis,we observed that small seeds in Arabidopsis tend to have higher primary and secondary dormancy levels than large *** analysis revealed distinct gene expression profiles between large and small *** seeds have higher expression of translation-related genes implicated in germination *** contrast,small seeds have elevated expression of many positive regulators of dormancy,including a key regulator of this process,the DOg1 *** in DOg1 expression are associated with differential production of its alternative cleavage and polyadenylation isoforms;in small seeds,the proximal poly(A)site is selected,resulting in a short mRNA ***,single-seed RNA sequencing analysis demonstrated that large seeds resemble DOg1 knockout mutant ***,on the single-seed level,expression of genes affected by seed size is correlated with expression of genes that position seeds on the path toward *** results demonstrate an unexpected link between seed size and dormancy phenotypes in a species that produces highly homogenous seed pools,suggesting that the correlation between seed morphology and physiology is more widespread than initially assumed.

A Hirshfeld Surface Analysis and crystal Structure of 2’-[1-(2-Fluoro-Phenyl)-1H-tetrazol-5-Yl]-4-Methoxy-Biphenyl-2-carbaldehyde

The title compound, c21H15FN4O2 is synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, Lc-MS and finally confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. This molecule crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system and space group P21/c, with crystal parameters a = 9.4386(5) A, b = 20.8082(1) A, c = 9.4338(6) A, β = 99.566(2)0, Z = 4 and V = 1826.98(19) A3. The mean planes of fluro-phenyl moiety makes a dihedral angle of 21.51 (7)0 with biphenyl moiety. The molecules are connected by hydrogen bonds of the type c---H...O and c---H...F. In addition, crystal structure is stabilized with π … π (exhibits intramolecular interaction) and c---O... π interactions. The intercontacts in the crystal structure are analyzed using Hirshfeld surfaces computational method.

目的：评估迈索尔市13-19岁学生错骀畸形与相关生活质量的关系。材料与方法：本横向研究基于多级分层随机抽样法,共纳入了900名13-I9岁的学生。采用预制问卷来记录样本的详细社会信息、口腔卫生状况、个人习惯、错耠畸形及口腔健康相关的生活质量。首先采用牙齿美学指数（DAI）来评价错耠畸形,再采用13腔健康影响程度14号量表（OHIP-14）来评价生活质量，最后综合评估错胎畸形与相关生活质量的相关性。结果：79,2％（n=713）的调查对象咬合正常或仅有轻微的错骀畸形,12,8％的人有明确的错耠畸形,5,7％的人有重度错殆畸形,23％的人有产生不利影响的错耠畸形。研究发现,错耠畸形的总患病率为208％。在900名研究对象中，466％（n=419）调查对象的错殆畸形对口腔健康相关的生活质量有一定影响。采用Logistic回归的统计学分析，结果表明：错耠畸形对生活质量产生的影响具有显著性（OR=1607,c1=9,17～28,17）。结论：在迈索尔市13-19岁的学生中，错耠畸形会影响与口腔健康相关的生活质量。
