Intranasal drug administration is receiving increased attention as a delivery method for by-passing the blood–brain barrier and rapidly targeting therapeutics to the ***,rapid mucociliary clearance in the nasal cavity is a major *** purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of mucoadhesive polymers in enhancing the delivery of nimodipine microemulsion to the brain via the intranasal *** optimized mucoadhesive microemulsion was characterized,and the in vitro drug release and in vivo nasal absorption of drug from the new formulation were evaluated in *** optimized formulation consisted of Capmul MCM as oil,Labrasol as surfactant,and Transcutol P as co-surfactant,with a particle size of 250 nm and zeta potential value of?15 *** vitro and ex vivo permeation studies showed an initial burst of drug release at 30 min and sustained release up to 6 h,attributable to the presence of free drug entrapped in the mucoadhesive *** vivo pharmacokinetic studies in rats showed that the use of the mucoadhesive microemulsion enhanced brain and plasma concentrations of *** results suggest that incorporation of a mucoadhesive agent in a microemulsion intranasal delivery system can increase the retention time of the formulation and enhance brain delivery of drugs.

Insulin is an important hormone that affects various metabolic processes,including kidney *** in insulin's action leads to insulin resistance in the target *** defects in post-receptor insulin signaling,impairment at the receptor level could significantly affect insulin sensitivity of the target *** kidney is a known target of insulin;however,whether the kidney develops "insulin resistance" is *** of the insulin receptor(IR) expression and its function is very well studied in major metabolic tissues like liver,skeletal muscles,and adipose *** physiological relevance of IRs in the kidney has recently begun to be *** credit goes to studies that showed a wide distribution of IR throughout the nephron segments and their reduced expression in the insulin resistance ***,altered renal and systemic metabolism observed in mice with targeted deletion of the IR from various epithelial cells of the kidney has strengthened this *** this review,we recapitulate the crucial findings from literature that have expanded our knowledge regarding the significance of the renal IR in normal-and insulin-resistance states.

The presence of water molecules in the air can impact how super cool broadband radiative coolers *** humidity in the lower atmosphere traps infrared radiation,reducing heat sent back to outer *** this study,a mesoscale urban climate model is used to evaluate the newly developed super cool materials with broadband emissivity not selective in atmospheric window as an arsenal for urban heat management of tropical wet and dry cities like *** results suggest that the energy balance over urban domain has substantially been altered by the city scale deployment of super cool broadband radiative cooling materials on the building *** ratio and evaporative fraction values were found decreasing and increasing,respectively with a positive directional polynomial(R2=0.968)relationship,after the implementation of super cool broadband radiative cooling materials and in comparison,to the unmitigated *** high solar hour(14:00 LT),additional thermal variables of urban domain such as 2 m air temperature,surface skin temperature,urban canopy temperature,and roof surface temperature decrease by 2.3℃,5.4℃,0.8℃,and 31.7℃,*** super cool broadband materials achieve sub-ambient temperatures up to 11.7℃during peak hours,reduce surface wind speed by 2.5 m s−1,and lower the planetary boundary layer by 1475 *** average daytime drop is approximately 7.3℃,and at night,it is close to 2.4℃.Deployment induces a“regional high”over urban areas,disrupting sea breeze onset and lowering the planetary boundary ***,an optimal cooling performance for super cool broadband radiative coolers can be achieved in lower humidity conditions,as their efficiency decreases with increased *** needing further investigation,these findings of nano-science-based super cool broadband materials offer valuable insights for policymakers and urban planners addressing thermal management in densely packed tropical urban environments.

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)resection is currently being undertaken in an increasing number of obese *** studies have yet to reach a consensus as to whether obesity affects post-operative outcomes following CRC *** To evaluate the post-operative outcomes of obese patients following CRC resection,as well as to determine the post-operative outcomes of obese patients in the subgroup undergoing laparoscopic *** Six-hundred and fifteen CRC patients who underwent surgery at the Prince Charles Hospital between January 2010 and December 2020 were categorized into two groups based on body mass index(BMI):Obese[BMI≥30,n=182(29.6%)]and non-obese[BMI<30,n=433(70.4%)].Demographics,comorbidities,surgical features,and post-operative outcomes were compared between both *** outcomes were also compared between both groups in the subgroup of patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery[n=472:BMI≥30,n=136(28.8%);BMI<30,n=336(71.2%)].RESULTS Obese patients had a higher burden of cardiac(73.1%vs 56.8%;P<0.001)and respiratory comorbidities(37.4%vs 26.8%;P=0.01).Obese patients were also more likely to undergo conversion to an open procedure(12.8%vs 5.1%;P=0.002),but did not experience more postoperative complications(51.6%vs 44.1%;P=0.06)or high-grade complications(19.2%vs 14.1%;P=0.11).In the laparoscopic subgroup,however,obesity was associated with a higher prevalence of post-operative complications(47.8%vs 39.3%;P=0.05)but not high-grade complications(17.6%vs 11.0%;P=0.07).CONCLUSION Surgical resection of CRC in obese individuals is safe.A higher prevalence of post-operative complications in obese patients appears to only be in the context of laparoscopic surgery.

The images capture in a bad environment usually loses its fidelity and *** the light rays travel towards its destination they get scattered several times due to the tiny particles of fog and pollutants in the environment,therefore the energy gets lost due to multiple scattering till it arrives its destination,and this degrades the *** the images taken in bad weather appear in bad ***,single image haze removal is quite a bit tough *** research has been done in the haze removal algorithm but in all the techniques,the coefficient of scattering is taken as a constant according to the homogeneous atmosphere but in real time this does not ***,this paper introduces a simple and efficient method so that the scattering coefficient becomes variable according to the inhomogeneous ***,this research aims to remove the haze with the help of a fast and effective algorithm i.e.,Prior Color Fading,according to the inhomogeneous environmental ***,to filter the depth map,the authors used a weighted guided image filtering which removes the drawbacks of guided image *** the scattering coefficient is made variable according to the inhomogeneous atmosphere and then the Simple Color Balance Algorithm is applied so that the readability property of images can be *** proposed method tested on various general outdoor images and synthetic hazy images and analyzed on various parameters Mean Square Error(MSE),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR),Mean Structural Similarity(MSSIM)and the Universal Objective Quality Index(UQI).Experimental results for the proposed method show that the proposed approach provides better results as compared to the state-of-the-art haze removal algorithms.
