Effect of multilayer CrN/CrAlN coating on the corrosion and contact resistance behavior of 316L SS bipolar plate for high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell

Stainless steels have received wide attention as a substitute material for bipolar plates in high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell(HT-PEMFC).In the present work,the CrN,CrAlN and multilayer CrN/CrAlN coatings were deposited on 316 L SS to increase the corrosion resistance and decrease the interfacial contact *** deposited coatings exhibited face centered cubic phase structure and it was verified from the X-ray diffraction pattern.X-ray photo electron spectroscopy results showed the formation of both CrN and CrAlN layers on 316 L ***/CrAlN coating is more helpful in water management due to low surface roughness and high contact angle in the HT-PEMFC *** corrosion resistance behavior of all the samples were studied in 85%H_(3)PO_(4)solution at 140℃purged with H_(2)(HT-PEMFC anode)and O_(2)(HT-PEMFC cathode)*** results showed that all the coatings considerably improved the performance of 316 L SS and superior corrosion resistance was observed for CrN/CrAlN multilayer coating,whose protective efficiency was 98.12%and 96.14%in the two simulated HT-PEMFC *** results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopic studies demonstrated higher impedance for CrN/CrAlN *** morphological studies performed after corrosion studies revealed that protection ability of CrN/CrAlN coating still remained acceptable.A very low interfacial contact resistance value of 6 mΩ cm^(2) at 140 N/cm;was observed for CrN/CrAlN ***,after corrosion studies,the interfacial contact resistance value of CrN/CrAlN coated 316 L was much lower than that of CrN and CrAlN coatings due to the increased oxidation *** maximum power density of about 0.93 W/cm^(2) at 2 A/cm^(2) and output voltage of 0.96 V was observed for CrN/CrAlN coating.

Continuous improvements in very-large-scale integration(VLSI)technology and design software have significantly broadened the scope of digital signal processing(DSP)*** use of application-specific integrated circuits(ASICs)and programmable digital signal processors for many DSP applications have changed,even though new system implementations based on reconfigurable computing are becoming more *** platforms that combine hardware and software programmability efficiency are rapidly maturing with discrete wavelet transformation(DWT)and sophisticated computerized design techniques,which are much needed in today’s modern *** research and commercial efforts to sustain power optimization,cost savings,and improved runtime effectiveness have been initiated as initial reconfigurable technologies have ***,in this paper,it is proposed that theDWTmethod can be implemented on a fieldprogrammable gate array in a digital architecture(FPGA-DA).We examined the effects of quantization on DWTperformance in classification problems to demonstrate its reliability concerning fixed-point math *** Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)algorithm for DWT learning used in this architecture is less responsive to resampling errors than the previously proposed solution in the literature using the artificial neural networks(ANN)*** reducing hardware area by 57%,the proposed system has a higher throughput rate of 88.72%,reliability analysis of 95.5%compared to the other standard methods.

Diabetics is one of the world’s most common diseases which are caused by continued high levels of blood *** risk of diabetics can be lowered if the diabetic is found at the early *** recent days,several machine learning models were developed to predict the diabetic presence at an early *** this paper,we propose an embedded-based machine learning model that combines the split-vote method and instance duplication to leverage an imbalanced dataset called PIMA Indian to increase the prediction of *** proposed method uses both the concept of over-sampling and under-sampling along with model weighting to increase the performance of *** measures such as Accuracy,Precision,Recall,and F1-Score are used to evaluate the *** results we obtained using K-Nearest Neighbor(kNN),Naïve Bayes(NB),Support Vector Machines(SVM),Random Forest(RF),Logistic Regression(LR),and Decision Trees(DT)were 89.32%,91.44%,95.78%,89.3%,81.76%,and 80.38%*** SVM model is more efficient than other models which are 21.38%more than exiting machine learning-based works.

Backstepping sliding mode control of a variable speed wind turbine for power optimization

To optimize the energy capture from the wind,wind turbine(WT)should operate at variable *** on the wind speed,the operating regions of the WT are divided into two parts:below and above the rated wind *** main aim at below rated wind speed is to maximize the energy capture from the wind with reduced oscillation on the drive *** above rated wind speed,the aim is to maintain the rated power by using pitch *** paper presents the control of WT at below rated wind speed by using backstepping sliding mode control(BSMC).In BSMC,generator torque is considered as the control input that depends on the optimal rotor ***,this optimal rotor speed is derived from effective wind *** this paper,effective wind speed is estimated from aerodynamic torque and rotor speed by using the modified Newton Rapshon(MNR)***,a conventional sliding mode controller(SMC)is applied to the WT,but the performance of the controller was found to be less robust with respect to ***,WT external disturbance is not *** overcome the above drawback,BSMC is proposed and both the controllers are tested with mathematical model and finally validated with the fatigue,aerodynamics,structures,and turbulence(FAST)WT simulator in the presence of *** the results,it is concluded that the proposed BSMC is more robust than conventional SMC in the presence of disturbances.

Influence of Shallow and Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Tribological Behavior of En 19 Steel

The influence of cryogenic treatment on the wear resistance of En 19 steel was studied. Furthermore, a comparative analysis on the effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment （DCT, 196℃× 24 h）, Shallow Cryogenic Treatment （SCT -80℃ × 5 h） and Conventional Heat Treatment （CHT） was done through dry sliding wear testing. The microstructures of CHT, SCT and DCT samples were also examined through scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that the wear resistance of shallow and deep cryogenically treated samples is higher when compared to that of conventionally treated samples. X-ray diffraction pattern revealed that the transformation of retained austenite into martensite is responsible for the wear resistance improvement.

Variable speed wind turbine for maximum power capture using adaptive fuzzy integral sliding mode control

This paper presents a nonlinear control approach to variable speed wind turbine(VSWT)with a wind speed *** dynamics of the wind turbine(WT)is derived from single mass *** this work,a modified Newton Raphson estimator has been considered for exact estimation of effective wind *** main objective of this work is to extract maximum energy from the wind at below rated wind speed while reducing drive train *** order to achieve the above objectives,VSWT should operate close to the optimal power *** generator torque is considered as the control input to achieve maximum energy *** the literature,it is clear that existing linear and nonlinear control techniques suffer from poor tracking of WT dynamics,increased power loss and complex control *** addition,they are not robust with respect to input *** order to overcome the above drawbacks,adaptive fuzzy integral sliding mode control(AFISMC)is proposed for VSWT *** proposed controller is tested with different types of disturbances and compared with other nonlinear controllers such as sliding mode control and integral sliding mode *** result shows the better performance of AFISMC and its robustness to input *** this paper,the discontinuity in integral sliding mode controller is smoothed by using hyperbolic tangent function,and the sliding gain is adapted using a fuzzy technique which makes the controller more robust.

Role of diet in the management of inflammatory bowel disease

Many studies have looked at connections between diet,etiology,signs and symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Although these connections are apparent to clinicians,they are difficult to prove qualitatively or *** feeding and polymeric diets are equally effective at bringing about remission in Crohn's disease(CD).Parenteral feeding is also effective,although none of these methods is as effective as corticosteroid ***,enteral feeding is preferred in the pediatric population because linear growth is more adequately maintained via this *** diets in patients brought into remission using an elemental diet have been shown to maintain remission for longer *** that aim to isolate culpable food groups have shown that individuals react differently on exposure to or exclusion of various *** commonly identifi ed food sensitivities are cereals,milk,eggs,vegetables and citrus *** that have looked at gut mucosal antigen behavior have shown higher rectal blood flow,in response to specifi c food antigens,in those with CD over healthy *** of sugar shows little evidence of amelioration in *** 3 fatty acids show promise in the treatment of IBD but await larger randomized controlled *** frequently notice that specifi c foods cause aggravation of their *** it has been diffi cult to pinpoint specifi c foods,with advances in the laboratory tests and food supplements available,the aim is to prolong remission in these patients using dietary measures,and reduce the need for pharmacotherapy and surgical intervention.
