Nano zinc, an alternative to conventional zinc as animal feed supplement:A review

The uniqueness of Zn is that, it is the second most abundant trace element in the animal body but can't be stored in the body, thus regular dietary intake is required. Zinc oxide(ZnO) nanoparticles(NP) particles are being extensively used in paints, skin lotions pigments, food, electronics appliances, biological and pharmaceutical applications and many more. Zinc oxide nanoparticles are the specially prepared mineral salt having particle size of 1 to 100 nm. It promotes growth can act as antibacterial agent,modulates the immunity and reproduction of the animals. Both in lower and higher doses of specifications it has exhibited a variety of effects on animal performances. Apart from being highly bioavailable, reports have already pointed out the growth promoting, antibacterial, immuno-modulatory and many more effects of nano zinc(nZn). These can be used at lower doses and can provide better result than the conventional Zn sources and indirectly prevents environmental contamination also. The toxicological studies provide mixed results in animal models. Studies been undertaken in diversified animal species and encouraging effects have been reported with nZn supplementation. However, there is a need to optimize the dose and duration of ZnO NP supplementation for human and livestock,depending on its biological effects. Actual bioavailability of ZnO NP in livestock is still to be worked *** this review we have attempted to summarize, conclude the beneficial effects of nZnO and its possible usage as mineral supplement to different categories of human and livestock.

Analytical Expressions of Concentrations inside the Cationic Glucose-Sensitive Membrane

A mathematical model of Wu et al. [J. Membr. Sci 254 (2005) 119-127] of a cationic glucose-sensitive membrane is discussed. The model involves the system of non-linear steady-state reaction-diffusion equations. Analytical expres-sions pertaining to concentration of oxygen, glucose, and gluconic acid for all values of parameters are presented. We have employed Homotopy analysis method to evaluate the approximate analytical solutions of the non-linear boundary value problem. A comparison of the analytical approximation and numerical simulation is also presented. A good agreement between theoretical predictions and numerical results is observed.

Approximate Analytical Expressions for the Concentrations of Acetate and Methane in the Microbial Electrochemical Cell

Mathematical modeling of microbial electrochemical cells (MXCs) for both microbial fuel cell and microbial electrolysis cell is discussed. The model is based on the system of reaction diffusion of reaction-diffusion equation containing a non-linear term related to substrate consumption rates by electrogeneic and methanogenic microorganism in the bioflim. This paper presents the approximate analytical method to solve the non-linear differential equation that describes the diffusion coupled with acetate (substrate) consumption rates. Simple analytical expressions for the concentrations of acetate and methane have been derived for all experimental values of bulk concentration, distributions of microbial volume fraction, local potential in the biofilm and biofilm thickness. In addition, sensitivity of the parameters on concentrations is also discussed. Our analytical results are also validated with the numerical results and limiting cases results. Further, a graphical procedure for estimating the kinetic parameters is also suggested.

The Healthcare monitoring on a clinical base involves many implicit communication between the patient and the care takers. Any misinterpretation leads to adverse effects. A simple wearable system can precisely interpret the implicit communication to the care takers or to an automated support device. Simple and obvious hand movements can be used for the above purpose. The proposed system suggests a novel methodology simpler than the existing sign language interpretations for such implicit communication. The experimental results show a well-distinguished realization of different hand movement activities using a wearable sensor medium and the interpretation results always show significant thresholds.

Analysis of non-linear reaction-diffusion processes with Michaelis-Menten kinetics by a new Homotopy perturbation method

This paper demonstrates the approximate analytical solution to a non-linear singular two-point boundary-value problem which describes oxygen diffusion in a planar cell. The model is based on diffusion equation containing a non-linear term related to Michaelis-Menten kinetics of enzymatic reaction. Approximate analytical expression of concentration of oxygen is derived using new Homotopy perturbation method for various boundary conditions. The validity of the obtained solutions is verified by the numerical results.

Solution of non-linear boundary value problems in immobilized glucoamylase kinetics

A mathematical model to describe the enzyme reaction, mass transfer and heat effects in the calorimetric system is discussed. The model is based on non-stationary diffusion Equation containing a nonlinear term related to immobilize liver esterase by flow calorimetry. This paper presents the complex numerical methods (Adomian decomposition method, Homotopy analysis and perturbation method) to solve the non-linear differential Equations that depict the diffusion coupled with a non-linear reaction terms. Approximate analytical expressions for substrate concentration have been derived for all values of parameters α, β and γE. These analytical results are compared with the available numerical results and are found to be in good agreement.

BACKGROUND Dermal papillae(DP)and outer root sheath(ORS)cells play important roles in hair growth and regeneration by regulating the activity of hair follicle(HF)*** To investigate the effects of human mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles(hMSC-EVs)on DP and ORS cells as well as *** are known to regulate various cellular ***,the effects of hMSC-EVs on hair growth,particularly on human-derived HF cells(DP and ORS cells),and the possible mechanisms underlying these effects are *** hMSC-EVs were isolated and characterized using transmission electron microscopy,nanoparticle tracking analysis,western blotting,and flow *** activation of DP and ORS cells was analyzed using cellular proliferation,migration,western blotting,and real-time polymerase chain *** growth was evaluated ex vivo using human *** Wnt3a is present in a class of hMSC-EVs and associated with the EV ***-EVs promote the proliferation of DP and ORS ***,they translocateβ-catenin into the nucleus of DP cells by increasing the expression ofβ-catenin target transcription factors(Axin2,EP2 and LEF1)in DP *** with hMSC-EVs also promoted the migration of ORS cells and enhanced the expression of keratin(K)differentiation markers(K6,K16,K17,and K75)in ORS ***,treatment with hMSC-EVs increases hair shaft elongation in cultured human *** These findings suggest that hMSC-EVs are potential candidates for further preclinical and clinical studies on hair loss treatment.

Analytical Expressions for Steady-State Concentrations of Substrate and Product in an Amperometric Biosensor with the Substrate Inhibition—The Adomian Decomposition Method

A mathematical model of an amperometric biosensor with the substrate inhibition for steady-state condition is discussed. The model is based on the system of non-stationary diffusion equation containing a non-linear term related to non-Michaelis–Menten kinetics of the enzymatic reaction. This paper presents the analytical expression of concentrations and current for all values of parameters φ2s φ2s α and β . Here the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is used to find the analytical expressions for substrate, product concentration and current. A comparison of the analytical approximation and numerical simulation is also presented. A good agreement between theoretical predictions and numerical results is observed.

Approximate analytical solution of non-linear reaction diffusion equation in fluidized bed biofilm reactor

A mathematical model for the fluidized bed biofilm reactor (FBBR) is discussed. An approximate analytical solution of concentration of phenol is obtained using modified Adomian decomposition method (MADM). The main objective is to propose an analytical method of solution, which do not require small parameters and avoid linearization and physically unrealistic assumptions. Theoretical results obtained can be used to predict the biofilm density of a single bioparticle. Satisfactory agreement is obtained in the comparison of approximate analytical solution and numerical simulation.
