Expression of multidrug resistance proteins in retinoblastoma

AIM： To elucidate the mechanism of multidrug resistance in retinoblastoma, and to acquire more insights into in vivo drug ***： Three anticancer drug resistant Y79 human RB cells were generated against vincristine, etoposide or carboplatin, which are used for conventional chemotherapy in RB. Primary cultures from enucleated eyes after chemotherapy（PCNC） were also prepared. Their chemosensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents（vincristine, etoposide and carboplatin） were measured using MTT assay. Western blot analysis was performed to evaluate the expression of p53, Bcl-2 and various multidrug resistant proteins in retinoblastoma ***： Following exposure to chemotherapeutic drugs, PCNC showed less sensitivity to drugs. No significant changes observed in the p53 expression, whereas Bcl-2 expression was found to be increased in the drug resistant cells as well as in PCNC. Increased expression of P-glycoprotein（P-gp） was observed in drug resistant Y79 cells; however there was no significant change in the expression of P-gp found between primary cultures of primarily enucleated eyes and PCNC. Multidrug resistance protein 1（Mrp-1） expression was found to be elevated in the drug resistant Y79 cells as well as in PCNC. No significant change in the expression of lung resistance associatedprotein（Lrp） was observed in the drug resistant Y79 cells as well as in ***： Our results suggest that multidrug resistant proteins are intrinsically present in retinoblastoma which causes treatment failure in managing retinoblastoma with chemotherapy.

This study explores the connections between renewable energy consumption(REC),non-renewable energy consumption(NREC),gross fixed capital formation(GFCF),the labor force(LF),and economic growth(GDP)in Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index(RECAI)countries for *** quantify the nexus between REC,NREC,and GDP while utilizing a production model framework and including the measures of labor and capital,for suggesting a phase-wise strategy to attain the sustainable development *** use robust methodologies including Lagrange Multiplier(LM)panel unit root tests with trend shifts,Westerlund cointegration test,LM bootstrap technique for cointegration with breaks,continuously updated fully modified(CUP-FM)and continuously updated bias-corrected(CUPBC)estimators,Augmented Mean Group(AMG)approach,fully modified ordinary least squares,dynamic ordinary least squares,Canonical Cointegrating Regression(CCR),and panel causality test proposed by Canning&*** compute non-parametric time-varying coefficients with fixed effects for seeing the impact of GFCF,LF,REC,and NREC on *** results press upon policymakers to shift toward clean energy and REC for attaining the environmental goals(SDGs 6,7,13,and 15)and the economic goals(SDGs 1,2,8,and 10).While this shift would help developed economies,which have already attained the economic goals,to progress on the front of environmental goals,it would enable developing countries to progress on both fronts in a balanced manner.

Dear editor,Traumatic orbital haemorrhage is an unfortunate complication with potential vision-threatening consequences.[1-3]The collection of blood can occur anywhere along the potential free orbital spaces,[4]but the subperiosteal collection of the blood is an important clinical variant where careful and timely intervention can give commendable rewards to the surgeon as well as to the patient.[1,2]Subperiosteal hematoma could be traumatic or non-traumatic,in turns,the non-traumatic cases may be due to bleeding tendency as in cases of leukaemia.

Experimental investigation into the effects of Argemone biodiesel/diesel blends on cyclic variations in a multi-cylinder CRDI engine

Internal combustion engines suffer from high cyclic variations that result in higher emissions,lower efficiency,higher fuel consump-tion and poor *** purpose of this study is to investigate how Argemone mexicana biodiesel(AGB)/diesel blended fuels affect the cyclic variability of combustion parameters such as maximum cylinder pressure(Pmax)and indicated mean effective pressure(IMEP)in a four-cylinder turbocharged intercooled common-rail direct injection engine under various engine loading *** chemical and physical properties of AGB produced from *** oil were measured and compared according to the ASTM D6751 *** various volumetric ratios,AGB and diesel fuel were blended as D100,AB10(10%AGB+90%D100),AB20(20%AGB+80%D100)and AB30(30%AGB+70%D100).The IMEP and Pmax time-series data were collected over 200 consecutive cycles at low,partial and high engine loads at a constant engine speed of 2000 *** coefficients of variation(COV)of combustion parameters(Pmax and IMEP)were measured for different AGB/diesel blends and found to be within acceptable *** results show that COV_(Pmax) and COV_(IMEP) decrease as the engine load *** was observed that at low load,AB10 has the lowest COV(Pmax,IMEP),and at partial and high load,AB20 has the lowest COV(Pmax,IMEP)among all the blends.

The mechanism and effects of subgrade fluidisation under ballasted railway tracks

The rapid growth in railway infrastructure and the construction of high-speed heavy-haul rail network,especially on ground that is basically unsuitable,poses challenges for geotechnical engineers because a large part of the money invested in the development of railway lines is often spent on track *** fact around the world,the mud pumping of subgrade fines is one of the common reasons why track performance deteriorates and track stability is *** article presents a series of laboratory tests to examine following aspects of mud pumping:(1)the mechanisms of subgrade fluidisation under undrained condition,(2)the effects of mud pumping on the engineering characteristics of ballast,and(3)the use of vertical drains to stabilize subgrade under cyclic *** undrained cyclic triaxial testing on vulnerable soft subgrade was performed by varying the cyclic stress ratio(CSR)from 0.2 to 1.0 and the loading frequency f from 1.0 to 5.0 *** is seen from the test results that for a specimen compacted at an initial dry density of 1790 kg/m3,the top portion of the specimen fluidises at CSR=0.5,irrespective of the applied loading *** cyclic railway loading,the internal redistribution of water at the top of the subgrade layer softens the soil and also reduces its *** response to these problems,this paper explains how the inclusion of vertical drains in soft subgrade will help to prevent mud pumping by alleviating the build-up of excess pore pressures under moving train loads.

The modified magnetodielectric response in KNN-CZFMO based particulate multiferroic composite system

Lead-free multiferroic composites of 1−x(K_(0.5)Na_(0.5)NbO_(3−x))(Co_(0.6)Zn_(0.4))(Fe_(1.7)Mn_(0.3))O_(4)(KNN-CZFMO),where x=0.0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5 and 1.0,have been investigated for their structural,morphological,electrical,magnetic,dielectric and magneto-dielectric *** of KNN and CZFMO crystal structure in each composite has been confirmed from X-ray diffrac-tion analysis(XRD).Cuboidal-shaped grains of KNN and spherical-shaped grains of CZFMO have been observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The room temperature ferroelectric behavior as confirmed by polarization versus electric field(P-E)hysteresis loops has been found to be decreasing with increasing CZFMO *** magnetic ordering with the increase in CZFMO concentration in the prepared composites has been observed by magnetization versus magnetic field(M-H)hysteresis *** electrical conductivity of composites has been studied using Jonscher’s universal power *** room temperature dielectric constant(ε′)and dielectric loss(tanδ)have been observed to decrease with the increase in the frequency of the applied external electric *** dielectric relaxation behavior has been observed using curve fitting analysis via the Havriliak-Negami relaxation *** value of the magnetodielectric(MD)effect~−11%at a frequency of 1 kHz with the applied magnetic field of 1 T has been achieved for 0.9 KNN−0.1 CZFMO(x=0.1)composite in the present research work.

This study presents an Epsilon Mu near-zero(EMNZ)nanostructured metamaterial absorber(NMMA)for visible regime *** resonator and dielectric layers are made of tungsten(W)and quartz(fused),where the working band is expanded by changing the resonator layer’s *** to perfect impedance matching with plasmonic resonance characteristics,the proposed NMMA structure is achieved an excellent absorption of 99.99%at 571 THz,99.50%at 488.26 THz,and 99.32%at 598 THz *** absorption mechanism is demonstrated by the theory of impedance,electric field,and power loss density distributions,*** geometric parameters are explored and analyzed to show the structure’s performance,and a near-field pattern is used to explain the absorption mechanism at the resonance frequency *** numerical analysis method describes that the proposed structure exhibited more than 80%absorbability between 550 and 900 *** Computer Simulation Technology(CST Microwave Studio 2019)software is used to design the proposed ***,CSTHFSS interference is validated by the simulation data with the help of the finite element method(FEM).The proposed NMMA structure is also exhibits glucose concentration sensing capability as *** the proposed broadband absorber may have a potential application in THz sensing,imaging(MRI,thermal,color),solar energy harvesting,light modulators,and optoelectronic devices.

In this paper,the design and performance analysis of an Inkjetprinted metamaterial loaded monopole antenna is presented for wireless local area network(WLAN)and worldwide interoperability for microwave access(WiMAX)*** proposed metamaterial structure consists of two layers,one is rectangular tuning fork-shaped antenna,and another layer is an inkjet-printed metamaterial *** metamaterial layer is designed using four split-ring resonators(SRR)with an H-shaped inner structure to achieve negative-index metamaterial *** metamaterial structure is fabricated on low-cost photo paper substrate material using a conductive inkbased inkjet printing technique,which achieved dual negative refractive index bands of 2.25–4.25 GHz and 4.3–4.6 *** antenna is designed using a rectangular tuning fork structure to operate at WLAN and WiMAX *** antenna is printed on 30×39×1.27 mm3 Rogers RO3010 substrate,which shows wide impedance bandwidth of 0.75 GHz(2.2 to 2.95 GHz)with 2 dB realized gain at 2.4 *** integrating metamaterial structure,the impedance bandwidth becomes 1.25 GHz(2.33 to 3.58 GHz)with 2.6 dB realized gain at 2.4 *** antenna bandwidth and gain have been increased using developed quad SRR based metasurface by 500 MHz and 0.6 dBi ***,the proposed quad SRR loaded antenna can be used for 2.4 GHz WLAN bands and 2.5 GHz WiMAX *** contribution of this work is to develop a cost-effective inject printed metamaterial to enhance the impedance bandwidth and realized the gain of a WLAN/WiMAX antenna.

The U-type hexaferrites(Ba_(1−3x)La_(2x))4Co_(2)Fe_(36)O_(60)(x=0,0.05,0.10,0.15,0.20,0.25)have been synthesized by auto-combustion *** work involves the study of structural,microstructural,dielectric,magnetic and magneto-dielectric properties of the prepared *** structural analysis has been done by X-ray diffraction technique along with Le Bail refinement which confirmed the pure hexagonal phase for all the *** microstructural analysis has been carried out by field-emission scanning electron *** vibrating sample magnetometer is used to measure the magnetic *** sample with a composition of x=0.15 has shown the maximum magnetization of approximately 73.31 emu/g with the remnant magnetization of 38.89 emu/g and coercive field of 1.77 kOe at room ***,the same sample has delivered the maximum mag-netodielectric response of about 54.18%at 1.5-T field.
