Mineralogy and whole-rock geochemistry of the Oligocene Barail Group of rocks of Belt of Schuppen, Northeast India: Implications for tectono-provenance and paleo-weathering

The petrographic and geochemical attributes of the Oligocene Barail Group of rocks are used to decipher the likely source area(s) or tectonic domains, as this sequence of rocks was deposited in a foreland basin governed by orogenic domain, namely the North-east Arunachal *** river system that gave rise to the Brahmaputra River(Yarlung-Tsangpo), which flowed through several tectonic domains of the Himalayan ranges, primarily from BomiChayu, Gangadese Granitoid, Higher Himalayan Leucogranites, and Namche Barwa into the proto Bengal Basin now a part of Assam Arakan Basin and Naga Schuppen Belt, was the main source of the sandstone formation of the Barail Group. The purpose of sandstone petrography, which combines modal analysis with XRF (Major Oxides) and HR-ICPMS (Trace&Rare Earth Elements) research, is to identify the type of source rock(s), their weathering pattern, and its paleo-environmental circumstances. These sandstones were formed from recycled orogen and include lithic and sublithic arenite variants with advanced texture and chemical maturity. The sediments were felsic (Th/Co:1.38, Cr/Th:9.78,La/Lu:11.58, Th/Sc:0.99, Eu/Eu*:0.66, La/Sc:3.05, La/Co:4.18), with contributions from intermediate source rocks and low-rank metamorphics deposited in an active continental margin to a continental island arc setting. Climatic conditions impacted the sediments of Barails, characterised by being warm and semi-humid to humid which resulted in moderate to a high degree of chemical weathering, as shown by weathering indices like CIA (79.14), PIA (85.47), CIW(86.9), WIP (32.50), ICV (0.71), and Th/U (6.03), which were further additionally supported by C-Value (1.01), PF(1.20), Sr/Cu (2.04), and Rb/Sr (0.97).

The aim of present study is to investigate the burning rate,ignition delay,and flame characteristics of ammonium perchlorate(AP)-hydroxyl terminated poly-butadiene(HTPB)[AP/HTPB]based composite propellants(CSP's)in sub-atmospheric pressure regimes(13 kPae100 kPa).Several fuels and catalyzed were used to evaluate their effects on the combustion characteristics of AP based propellants in sub-atmospheric pressure *** fuels,aluminum(Al)and boron(B)were selected as metallic and non-metallic fuel *** in catalyst,butyl ferrocene(B.F.)and ferric oxide(F.O.)were selected as liquid and solid catalyst *** from these,other ingredients that were used are di-octyl adipate(DOA),toluene di-isocyanate(TDI),and *** article throws some light on the burning rate and ignition delay properties for these new classes of prepared propellant *** subatmospheric pressures,all propellants are susceptible to irregular burning with the ejection of soot's,fumes,and unburned *** catalyzed propellants can sustain its combustion up to the lowest pressure.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infections have posed a problematic healthcare situation worldwide since December *** mellitus is associated with an increased risk and severity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).While interacting with various other risk factors,high blood sugar was found to reduce immunity and increase the replication of SARS�*** stress and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines are greater in diabetic individuals than in healthy people,worsening the outcome of SARS�CoV-2 infection in *** expression of furin and angiotensin converting enzyme 2(ACE-2)receptor in the hyperglycemic environment may promote the entry of SARS-CoV-2 in the host ***-19 infection primarily modulates immune and inflammatory responses,and may cause a cytokine storm,resulting in possible lethal outcomes in *** experimental report suggests that ACE expressed in the pancreas and the SARS-CoV-2 virus invariably destroyβ-cells which contain ACE-2 receptors and results in acute ***,COVID-19 also causes hyperglycemia in an individual with diabetes which may be related to insulin resistance and destruction ofβ-cells during SARS-CoV-2 *** observations also suggest a correlation between oral hypoglycemic agents and the risk of *** review focused on the possible cause and mechanism involved in SARS-CoV-2 infection in diabetics and the role of antidiabetic drugs in COVID-19.

Viral Genotypes and Associated Risk Factors of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in India

Objective This study aims to investigate the etiological relationship among hepatitis B virus （HBV）, hepatitis C virus （HCV）, and alcohol as risk factors in a cohort of hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） patients from India. The clinical and biochemical profiles and tumor characteristics in the HCC cases were also evaluated. Methods A total of 357 consecutive cases of HCC fulfilling the diagnostic criteria from the Barcelona-2000 EASL conference were included in the study. The blood samples were evaluated for serological evidence of HBV and HCV infection, viral load, and genotypes using serological tests, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results The male/female ratio for the HCC cases was 5.87：1. Majority of the HCC patients （33.9%） were 50 to 59 years of age, with a mean age of 4±13.23 years. More than half the cases （60.8%） had underlying cirrhosis at presentation. Among the HCC patients, 68.9% were HBV related, 21.3% were HCV related, 18.8%, were alcoholic, and 18.2% were of cryptogenic origin. The presence of any marker positive for HBV increased the risk for developing HCC by almost 27 times [OR： 27.33; （12.87-60.0）]. An increased risk of 10.6 times was observed for HCC development for cases positive for ally HCV marker [OR： 10.55; （3.13-42.73）]. Heavy alcohol consumption along with HCV RNA positivity in cirrhotic patients was found to be a risk for developing HCC by 3 folds ]OR： 3.17; （0.37-70.71）]. Conclusions Patients of chronic HBV infection followed by chronic HCV infection were at higher risk of developing HCC in India. Chronic alcohol consumption was found to be a risk factor in cirrhotic cases only when it was associated with HCV RNA positivity. Most of the patients had a large tumor size （〉5 cm） with multiple liver nodules, indicating an advanced stage of the disease thus making curative therapies difficult.
