Spindle cell lipoma（SCL） is a benign lipomatous neoplasm typically located in the posterior neck and back of older males. It presents as a well-circumscribed mass in the buccal mucosa, tongue, floor of the mouth or hard palate. There are only two case reports of SCL in the gingiva and alveolar ridge. Here, we report a case of SCL in the mandibular mucogingival junction of a 68-year-old male. Clinical,histopathological and immunohistochemical findings are presented. although oral SCL is rare, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of spindle cell neoplasms occurring in the oral cavity.

The underlying premise of peer-to-peer(P2P)systems is the trading of digital resources among individual peers to facilitate file sharing,distributed computing,storage,collaborative applications and multimedia ***-called free-riders challenge the foundations of this system by consuming resources from other peers without offering any resources in return,hindering resource exchange among ***,immense effort has been invested in discouraging free-riding and overcoming the ill effects of such unfair use of the ***,previous efforts have all fallen short of effectively addressing free-riding behaviour in P2P *** paper proposes a novel approach based on utilising a credit incentive for P2P networks,wherein a grace period is introduced during which free-riders must reimburse *** contrast to previous approaches,the proposed system takes into consideration the upload rate of peers and a grace *** system has been thoroughly tested in a simulated environment,and the results show that the proposed approach effectively mitigates free-riding *** to previous systems,the number of downloads from free-riders decreased while downloads by contributing peers *** results also show that under longer grace periods,the number of downloads by fast peers(those reimbursing the system within the grace period)was greater than the number of downloads by slow peers.

Six Minute Walk Test to assess functional capacity in chronic liver disease patients

AIM: To examine the utility of Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT) in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD). METHODS: Two hundred and fifty subjects between the ages of 18 and 80 (mean 47) years performed 6MWT and the Six Minute Walk Distance (6MWD) was measured. RESULTS: The subjects were categorized into four groups. Group A (n = 45) healthy subjects (control); group B (n = 49) chronic hepatitis B patients; group C (n = 54) chronic hepatitis C patients; group D (n = 98) liver cirrhosis patients. The four groups differed in terms of 6MWDs (P alked was 421 ± 47 m by group A, then group B (390 ± 53 m), group C (357 ± 72 m) and group D (306 ± 111 m). The 6MWD correlated with age (r = -0.482, P albumin (r = +0.311, P al (P = 0.024). CONCLUSION: 6MWT is a useful tool for assessing physical function in CLD patients. We suggest that 6MWD may serve as a prognostic indicator in patients with liver cirrhosis.

AIM： To identify the most common hepatitis B virus （HBV） genob/pe in Saudi Arabia, and correlate the prevailing genob/pes with the clinical outcome of patients. METHODS： Patients were consecutively recruited from the hepatology clinics of two tertiary care referral centers. Patients were categorized into 4 different groups： group 1, patients with hepatitis B and normal liver enzymes; group 2, patients with hepatitis B and abnormal liver enzymes but without cirrhosis; group 3, patients with hepatitis B and liver cirrhosis; group 4, patients with hepatitis B and hepatocellular carcinoma. all patients had a positive hepatitis B surface antigen （HBsAg）. Genob/ping of HBV was performed by nested PCR-mediated amplification of the target sequence and hybridization with sequence-specific oligonucleotides. RESULTS： Seventy patients were enrolled in this study. They were predominantly male （72.9%） in their midforty＇s （mean age 47 years）. Forty-nine （70%） patients were hepatitis B envelope antigen （HBeAg） negative. The majority of patients （64%） acquired HBV through unknown risk factors. Hepatitis B genob/ping revealed that 57 patients （81.4%） were genob/pe D, 1 patient （1.4%） had genob/pe A, 1 patient （1.4%） had genotype C, and 4 patients （5.7%） had genob/pe E, while 7 patients （10%） had mixed genob/pe （4 patients ADG, 1 patient DE, 1 patient DF, and 1 patient ADFG）. Based on univariate analysis of genob/pe D patients, significant predictors of advanced liver disease were age, gender, aspartate transaminase, alanine transaminase, albumin,bilirubin, and alkaline phosphatase （all P 〈 0.001）. In multivariate analysis decreased hemoglobin （r = -0.05; 95% CI： -0.08 to -0.03; P = 0.001） and albumin levels （r = -0.004; 95% CI： -0.007 to -0.001; P = 0.002） were highly significant predictors of advanced liver disease. In patients with HBV genotype D, HBeAg negativity was found to increase across advancing stages of liver disease （P = 0.024）. CONCLUSION： This study highlights tha

Objective:To evaluate and compare the antioxidant activity,total phenolic contents(TPCs) and in vitro antidiabetic activity of various pits extracts obtained from five Omani date ***:Sun-dried mature fruits of five Omani date varieties,namely,Fardh,Naghal,Khalas,Khinazi and Khasab were purchased from the local market in Muscat,Oman in the month of September *** seed extracts ***,ethanol,methanol and acetone were prepared for each date variety and their antioxidant activities were investigated by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl,hydrogen peroxide scavenging method and reducing power assay method,*** vitro antidiabetic activity of the date pit extracts was evaluated by measuring their inhibitory effect on a-glucosidase and aamylase *** were also quantified ***:The results indicated that TPC of date seeds was solvent ***,ethanol and methanol were found to be significantly better solvents than water in extracting phenolic compounds from the date *** extracts exhibited moderate to good in vitro antioxidant activity and increased reducing *** all date pit extracts,water extract exhibited significant in vitro antidiabetic activity in comparison to standard drug,***:The present study confirms that disposed waste of Omani dates is a rich source of dietary antioxidant because of its high *** pits due to their inhibitory effects on a-glucosidase and a-amylase level could be used as a monotherapy along with an appropriate diabetic diet and exercise or might be in conjunction with antidiabetic therapy to manage and prevent progression of diabetes.

Themost common digital media exchanged via the Internet is in text *** Arabic language is considered one of themost sensitive languages of content modification due to the presence of diacritics that can cause a change in the *** this paper,an intelligent scheme is proposed for improving the reliability and security of the text exchanged via the *** core mechanism of the proposed scheme depends on integrating the hidden Markov model and zero text watermarking *** watermark key will be generated by utilizing the extracted features of the text analysis process using the third order and word level of the Markov *** Embedding and detection processes of the proposed scheme will be performed logically without the effect of the original *** proposed scheme is implemented using PHP with VS code *** simulation results,using varying sizes of standard datasets,show that the proposed scheme can obtain high reliability and provide better accuracy of the common illegal tampering *** results with other baseline techniques show the added value of the proposed scheme.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of the extract from Ononis spinosa L.(***)on ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in ***:Phytochemical constituents of the extract from *** were analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass *** were classified into 4 equal groups;ulcer control received oral vehicle;positive control was administered with 40 mg/kg esomeprazole(standard drug)and 2 groups received 0.5 and 1 g/kg of *** extract,*** ulcer was induced by absolute ethanol(5 mL/kg)orally to all *** of ulcer index,cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)expression and determination of total glutathione level in gastric mucosa were ***:Oral administration of the extract from *** at doses 0.5 and 1 g/kg lowered the ulcer indices by 80.39%and 98.71%,respectively,compared to 67.89%by esomeprazole(40 mg/kg).Histologically,treatment with the extract decreased necrosis and hemorrhage in mucosa and edema and infiltration by inflammatory cells in *** immunohistochemical technique,it was demonstrated that COX-2 expression increased in mucosa of animals treated with the extract as well as by *** and esomeprazole increased total glutathione level in the stomach compared to *** was the major compound of the extract followed by trifolirhizin,myricitrin,gentisic acid,cycloartenol and ***:The present study demonstrated that the extract from *** was able to protect gastric mucosa from ethanol injury by at least 2 mechanisms,namely the induction of COX-2 and decreasing oxidative stress in the stomach.
