The recently developed machine learning(ML)models have the ability to obtain high detection rate using biomedical ***,this article develops an Optimal Sparse Autoencoder based Sleep Stage Classiﬁcation Model on Electroencephalography(EEG)Biomedical Signals,named OSAE-SSCEEG *** major intention of the OSAE-SSCEEG technique is toﬁnd the sleep stage disorders using the EEG biomedical *** OSAE-SSCEEG technique primarily undergoes preprocessing using min-max data normalization ***,the classiﬁcation of sleep stages takes place using the Sparse Autoencoder with Smoothed Regularization(SAE-SR)with softmax(SM)***,the parameter optimization of the SAE-SR technique is carried out by the use of Coyote Optimization Algorithm(COA)and it leads to boosted classiﬁcation efﬁ*** order to ensure the enhanced performance of the OSAE-SSCEEG technique,a wide ranging simulation analysis is performed and the obtained results demonstrate the betterment of the OSAE-SSCEEG tech-nique over the recent methods.

A cyber physical energy system(CPES)involves a combination of pro-cessing,network,and physical *** smart grid plays a vital role in the CPES model where information technology(IT)can be related to the physical *** the same time,the machine learning(ML)modelsﬁnd useful for the smart grids integrated into the CPES for effective decision ***,the smart grids using ML and deep learning(DL)models are anticipated to lessen the requirement of placing many power plants for electricity *** this aspect,this study designs optimal multi-head attention based bidirectional long short term memory(OMHA-MBLSTM)technique for smart grid stability predic-tion in *** proposed OMHA-MBLSTM technique involves three subpro-cesses such as pre-processing,prediction,and hyperparameter *** OMHA-MBLSTM technique employs min-max normalization as a pre-proces-sing ***,the MBLSTM model is applied for the prediction of stability level of the smart grids in *** the same time,the moth swarm algorithm(MHA)is utilized for optimally modifying the hyperparameters involved in the MBLSTM *** ensure the enhanced outcomes of the OMHA-MBLSTM technique,a series of simulations were carried out and the results are inspected under several *** experimental results pointed out the better outcomes of the OMHA-MBLSTM technique over the recent models.

Safety and efficacy of photodynamic therapy using BCECF-AM compared to mitomycin C in controlling post-operative fibrosis in a rabbit model of subscleral trabeculectomy

AIM： To evaluate the safety and efficacy of cellular photoablation using BCECF-AM [2, T-bis-（2-carboxyethyl） -5-（and-6）-carboxyfluorescein, acetoxymethyl ester mixed isomersl as a method to control postoperative fibrosis in subscleral trabeculectomy （SST） compared to mitomycin C （MMC） in a rabbit model. METHODS： A comparative prospective case-control animal study was conducted. Fourteen rabbits were subjected to SST with intraoperaUve use of wound modulating agents （MMC or BCECF-AM） of the right eye （study groups I and II respectively） and SST without use of intraoperative wound modulating agents for the left eye （control group II）. Two rabbits 4 eyes were considered as control group I with no surgical intervention. BCECF-AM was injected subconjunctivally 30min before surgery followed by intraoperative illumination with diffuse blue light for 10min. Antifibrotic efficacy was established by clinical response and histological examination. Clinical response was assessed by measuring intraocular pressure （lOP） at day 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 21 postoperatively, Success was defined by 〉20.0% reduction in lOP from the preoperative values without anti-glaucoma medications. RESULTS： The mean percentage of reduction was 35.0% in the study group I with only one eye （14.3%） had 12.5% reduction. The mean percentage of reduction was 28.0% in the study group U with two eyes （28.6%） in study group II had 14.2% reduction each. Regarding the control group II, the mean percentage of reduction was 14.3% with 64.3% eyes had 〈20.0% reduction. There was a highly statistically significant difference between each of the study groups （right eyes） and the corresponding control group II （left eyes） as regards the mean postoperative lOP values started from day 5 in both study groups and this highly significant difference remained so till the end of the follow up period. Nigella sativa oil as a treatment for gingivitis: A randomized active-control trial

Objective: To assess the clinical anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial efficacy of Nigella sativa oil compared with chlorhexidine in patients with gingivitis. Methods: A double-blind, randomized clinical trial was conducted in patients having chronic generalized gingivitis. Patients were randomly assigned to receive Nigella sativa oil(n=18) or chlorhexidine(n=19). The following assessments were made on day 0 and day 15: plaque index, gingival index, gingival IL-6 and IL-18 levels were measured using ELISA, plaque colony-forming units, and alpha-hemolytic Streptococcus strains. Data were analyzed using parametric and non-parametric tests and Fisher’s exact ***: Both interventions reduced plaque index and gingival index scores(P0.05). The post-intervention plaque index and gingival index scores and inflammatory cytokine levels between the two groups were not significantly different. Both interventions caused a significant reduction in the plaque colony-forming units(P<0.000 1), reducing pathogenic bacteria: Streptococcus mitis, Streptococcus oralis, Streptococcus sanguinis, and Streptococcus parasanguinis in the chlorhexidine group(50%)(P=0.103 1), and the Nigella sativa oil group(20%)(P=0.739 5). Conclusions: Nigella sativa oil had anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities, reducing biofilm formation and disrupting the colonization of pathogenic bacteria essential for the progression of periodontal disease. Nigella sativa oil could offer an alternative therapy for treating gingivitis and may prevent associated systemic diseases and improve overall health outcomes.

Melatonin and/or rowatinex attenuate streptozotocin-induced diabetic renal injury in rats

The study aimed to explore the prophylactic effect of melatonin, rowatinex; a naturally occurring renal drug, and its combination on diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of streptozotocin(50 mg/g body weight). Three days before diabetes induction, rats were daily treated with melatonin, rowatinex and their combination continuously for 8 weeks. Evaluation was done through measuring blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum uric acid, serum creatinine, urine creatinine, creatinine clearance, nitric oxide(NO), malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), total antioxidant capacity(TAC),kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1), heat shock protein-70(HSP-70), caspase-3, transforming growth factor β1(TGFβ1), DNA degradation by the comet assay and total protein contents. Histopathologic study was also done for the kidney and the pancreas. Drastic changes in all measured parameters of the diabetic rats were observed. Treatment with melatonin and rowatinex showed amelioration to variable degrees. In conclusion, melatonin showed the most potent effect on protecting rats from deleterious action of diabetic nephropathy followed by its combination with rowatinex.

An Overview of Nanoparticles from Medicinal Plants: Synthesis, Characterization and Bio-Applications

Presenting and definition the most important points about nanoparticles for medicinal plants and the most important vital applications of them. The scoping review was performed according to systemic style. The research articles included the selected studies dealing with primary information on nanotechnology and medicinal plants published between 2000 and 2023. The search was at grassroots platforms such as Web of Science and PubMed. Many studies correlated the properties of plants’ nanoparticles such as stability, surface area, and high reactivity, and their small size. It was found that nanoparticles (NPs) have size ranging from some nanometers to 100 nm and their morphology is controlled because of their tiny size, NPs have a big surface area, which makes them suitable for many applications. Green nanotechnology has the potential to become an industry with very high green credentials as it is increasingly commercialized. In general, nanoparticles derived from medicinal plants offer a promising avenue for various bio-applications. Their green synthesis, biocompatibility, and potential therapeutic properties make them an attractive area of research with the potential to impact fields ranging from medicine to agriculture.
