Breeding Enrichment of Genetic Variation of Grain Yield and Its Attributes in Bread Wheat under Drought Stress and Well Irrigation

Drought stress(DS)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid *** of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to DS can play a significant role in mitigation the negative impacts associated with *** the present study,generation means analysis(GMA)was used to study the performance of two crosses under well irrigation(WI)and deficit irrigation[cross I(Line 44×Shandweel-1)and cross II(Line 20×Sakha 93)].Significant differences were observed for days to heading(DH),days to maturity(DM),plant height(PH),spike length(SL),number of spikes per plant(NS/P),number of grains per spike(NG/S),thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain yield per plant(GY/P),and proline content(PC)in the six populations of the two crosses within each irrigation *** II had early maturity and the highest PC,NS/P,TGW,and GY/P regardless of the irrigation *** I showed positive significant relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis for GY/P under the two irrigation *** inheritance of characters of cross I revealed additive,dominant,and epistatic effects,which varied with trait and *** genetic effects predominated in DH,SL,and PC,while non-additive were found in DM,NS/P,NG/S,and GY/***-sense heritability estimates(h^(2) n)were high for DH and PC,moderate to high for PH and SL,moderate for DM,NG/S,NS/P,and TGW,and low for GY/*** on different drought indices the populations BC_(1),BC_(2),F_(1),and P1 of cross II and BC1 of cross I were more tolerant to drought ***,PC,TGW and DH can be used as selection indicators to improve wheat for drought tolerance in early generations and other yield components traits in late *** second cross(Line 20×Sakha 93)shows promise and is of interest to a drought tolerance breeding program,where wheat breeders can use recombinant breeding strategies to construct desirable drought stress *** and path coefficient revealed that TGW and PC were the main

Efficacy of extract from Ononis spinosa *** ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in rats

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of the extract from Ononis spinosa L.(***)on ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in ***:Phytochemical constituents of the extract from *** were analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass *** were classified into 4 equal groups;ulcer control received oral vehicle;positive control was administered with 40 mg/kg esomeprazole(standard drug)and 2 groups received 0.5 and 1 g/kg of *** extract,*** ulcer was induced by absolute ethanol(5 mL/kg)orally to all *** of ulcer index,cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)expression and determination of total glutathione level in gastric mucosa were ***:Oral administration of the extract from *** at doses 0.5 and 1 g/kg lowered the ulcer indices by 80.39%and 98.71%,respectively,compared to 67.89%by esomeprazole(40 mg/kg).Histologically,treatment with the extract decreased necrosis and hemorrhage in mucosa and edema and infiltration by inflammatory cells in *** immunohistochemical technique,it was demonstrated that COX-2 expression increased in mucosa of animals treated with the extract as well as by *** and esomeprazole increased total glutathione level in the stomach compared to *** was the major compound of the extract followed by trifolirhizin,myricitrin,gentisic acid,cycloartenol and ***:The present study demonstrated that the extract from *** was able to protect gastric mucosa from ethanol injury by at least 2 mechanisms,namely the induction of COX-2 and decreasing oxidative stress in the stomach.

The Internet of Things(IoT)has been deployed in diverse critical sectors with the aim of improving quality of service and facilitating human *** IoT revolution has redefined digital services in different domains by improving efficiency,productivity,and *** service providers have adapted IoT systems or plan to integrate them as integral parts of their systems’operation;however,IoT security issues remain a significant *** minimize the risk of cyberattacks on IoT networks,anomaly detection based on machine learning can be an effective security solution to overcome a wide range of IoT *** various detection techniques have been proposed in the literature,existing detection methods address limited cyberattacks and utilize outdated datasets for *** this paper,we propose an intelligent,effective,and lightweight detection approach to detect several IoT *** proposed model includes a collaborative feature selection method that selects the best distinctive features and eliminates unnecessary features to build an effective and efficient detection *** the detection phase,we also proposed an ensemble of learning techniques to improve classification for predicting several different types of IoT *** experimental results show that our proposed method can effectively and efficiently predict several IoT attacks with a higher accuracy rate of 99.984%,a precision rate of 99.982%,a recall rate of 99.984%,and an F1-score of 99.983%.

Predictive control of a chaotic permanent magnet synchronous generator in a wind turbine system

This paper investigates how to address the chaos problem in a permanent magnet synchronous generator（PMSG） in a wind turbine system. Predictive control approach is proposed to suppress chaotic behavior and make operating stable;the advantage of this method is that it can only be applied to one state of the wind turbine system. The use of the genetic algorithms to estimate the optimal parameter values of the wind turbine leads to maximization of the power ***, some simulation results are included to visualize the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

3-Bromopyruvate(3BP) is a new, promising anticancer alkylating agent with several notable functions. In addition to inhibiting key glycolysis enzymes including hexokinase II and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), 3BP also selectively inhibits mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, angiogenesis, and energy production in cancer cells. Moreover, 3BP induces hydrogen peroxide generation in cancer cells(oxidative stress effect) and competes with the LDH substrates pyruvate and lactate. There is only one published human clinical study showing that 3BP was effective in treating fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. LDH is a good measure for tumor evaluation and predicts the outcome of treatment better than the presence of a residual tumor mass. According to the Warburg effect, LDH is responsible for lactate synthesis, which facilitates cancer cell survival, progression, aggressiveness, metastasis, and angiogenesis. Lactate produced through LDH activity fuels aerobic cell populations inside tumors via metabolic symbiosis. In melanoma, the most deadly skin cancer, 3BP induced necrotic cell death in sensitive cells, whereas high glutathione(GSH) content made other melanoma cells resistant to 3BP. Concurrent use of a GSH depletor with 3BP killed resistant melanoma cells. Survival of melanoma patients was inversely associated with high serum LDH levels, which was reported to be highly predictive of melanoma treatment in randomized clinical trials. Here, we report a 28-year-old man presented with stage IV metastatic melanoma affecting the back, left pleura, and lung. The disease caused total destruction of the left lung and a high serum LDH level(4,283 U/L). After ethics committee approval and written patient consent, the patient received 3BP intravenous infusions(1-2.2 mg/kg), but the anticancer effect was minimal as indicated by a high serum LDH level. Flavonoid chemical composition and antidiabetic potential of Brachychiton acerifolius leaves extract

Non-viral factors contributing to hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of cancer death worldwide, accounting for over half a million deaths per year. The geographic pattern of HCC incidence is parallel to exposure to viral etiologic factors. Its incidence is increasing, ranging between 3% and 9% annually depending on the geographical location, and variability in the incidence rates correspond closely to the prevalence and pattern of the primary etiologic factors. Chronic infections with hepatitis B viruses or hepatitis C viruses have both been recognized as human liver carcinogens with a combined attributable fraction of at least 75% of all HCC cases. Multiple non-viral factors have been implicated in the development of HCC. Increased body mass index and diabetes with subsequent development of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis represent significant risk factors for HCC. Other non-viral causes of HCC include iron overload syndromes, alcohol use, tobacco, oral contraceptive, aflatoxin, pesticides exposure and betel quid chewing, a prevalent habit in the developing world. Wilson disease, α-1 antitrypsin deficiency, Porphyrias, autoimmune hepatitis, Schistosoma japonicum associated with positive hepatitis B surface antigen, and thorotrastray are also contributing hepatocellualar carcinoma. In addition, primary biliary cirrhosis, congestive liver disease and family history of liver cancer increase the risk of HCC incident. In conclusion,clarification of relevant non-viral causes of HCC will help to focus clinicians on those risk factors that are modifiable. The multilevel preventative approach will hopefully lead to a reduction in incidence of non-viral HCC, and a decrease in the patient morbidity and mortality as well as the societal economic burden associated with HCC.

Administration of tacrolimus in 50 liver transplantation patients

Objective: To present a good tacrolimus (FK506) administration protocol in liver transplantation. Methods: Fifty liver transplantation patients were classified into FK506 high-concentration (20 pa- tients), FK506 mid-concentration (20), CsA-FK506 (5) and FK506-CsA (5) groups. Clinical manifesta- tions, FK506 side-effects and pathological changes were observed. Results: The FK506 high-concentration group show- ed complications such as infection and liver function damage. The FK506 mid-concentration group show- ed excellent therapeutic results and some complica- tions easy to deal with. Conclusion: FK506 is a highly effective immunosup- pressive agent and the mid-concentration protocol is a better one.
