Electrochemical Assay of Effects of Organophosphate Poisoning on Acetylcholinesterase from Pheretima via 2,6-Dimethyl-p-benzoquinone

Electroanalytical techniques could be a reliable and promising alternative to classical and sophisticated methods because of their simplicity（small and portable）,easy use,the ability to deliver fast response with high sensitivity and selectivity.A square wave voltammetric method was developed for the assessment of organophosphorus（OPs） compound impact on acetylcholinesterase（AChE） of Pheretima with 2,6-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone（2,6DMBQ） as a redox *** substrate of acetylthiocholine is hydrolyzed by AChE and the produced thiocholine reacts with 2,6-DMBQ to give an obvious shift of electrochemical *** reduction peak of 2,6-DMBQ is located at around 0.18 V which is far away from the oxidation potential of possible interference components often present in *** decreased rate of reduction current was related with the activity of *** inhibition of parathion-methyl on AChE was *** inhibiton rate of OPs on AChE activity increased quickly during the first 10 min inhibition,and after that the value of inhibition rate approached to be *** lost almost 29.3% of activity after 10 min incubation with 1 μg/mL parathion-methyl and 67.5% of activity with 10 μg/mL parathion-methyl,while the activity that corresponds to 40 μg/mL parathion-methyl was nearly completely inhibited（94.9%）.Compared to cyclic voltammetry and amperometry,Square wave voltammetry（SWV） method is a high sensitive electroanalysis with fast scan-rate（only several seconds for one signal value） which is useful to prevent the electrodes from possible fouling or *** method can be employed to assess the inhibition of organophosphate on AChE and investigate OPs impact on environmental animals.

Iron carbon agglomerates(ICA)are the composite burden for low-carbon blast furnace(BF)*** order to optimize the reactivity of ICA according to the evolution characteristics of ICA in the BF smelting process,the evolution behavior and mechanism of different reactive ICA under simulated BF smelting conditions were *** results show that the existence of more sillimanite and aluminosilicate and less active sites of metallic iron will weaken gasification reaction and carburization ability of ICA-1(containing 10%iron ore).It weakens the promoting effect of ICA-1 on the reduction,softening,and melting of ferrous burdens and the dripping of *** aluminosilicate with a high melting point decreases,the low melting point slag phase and Fe–Si alloy increase,and many active sites of metallic iron exist,which strengthen the gasification reaction and carburization ability of ICA-2(containing 30%iron ore).The promoting effect of ICA-2 on the reduction,softening,and melting of ferrous burdens and the dripping of slag-iron is significantly *** gasification reaction capacity of ICA-3(containing 35%iron ore)is reduced,and the improvement in ICA-3 on the softening–melting performance of mixed burdens is *** appropriate proportion of iron ore in ICA is about 30%.

Ephedra herb is a traditional Chinese medicine with a long history. Conventionally, it was used as a folk phytomedicine in many ancient medical books and traditional prescriptions. Up to date, a variety of specific ingredients have been found in Ephedra herb, mainly including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, polysaccharides, organic acids, volatile oils, and many other active compounds. These components from Ephedra herb account for its use as the accurate treatment of cold, cough, cardiovascular and immune system disease, cancer, microbial infection, and other diseases. Moreover, with the fast development of novel chemistry and medicine technology, new chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of Ephedra herb are increasingly identified, demonstrating their great potential for various diseases treatment. Therefore, further detailed understanding and investigation of this ancient herb will offer new opportunities to develop novel therapeutics. This study systematically reviews its progress of phytochemistry, traditional and modern pharmacology based on research data that have been reported, aiming at providing useful insight for commercial exploitation, further study and precision medication of Ephedra herb in future.

Coupling Sb_(2)WO_(6)microflowers and conductive polypyrrole for efficient potassium storage by enhanced conductivity and K^(+) diffusivity

Although metal oxide compounds are considered as desirable anode materials for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)due to their high theoretical capacity,the large volume variation remains a key issue in realizing metal oxide anodes with long cycle life and excellent rate *** this study,polypyrroleencapsulated Sb_(2)WO_(6)(denoted Sb_(2)WO_(6)@PPy)microflowers are synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal method followed by in-situ polymerization and coating by *** the nanosheet-stacked Sb_(2)WO_(6)microflower structure,the improved electronic conductivity,and the architectural protection offered by the PPy coating,Sb_(2)WO_(6)@PPy exhibits boosted potassium storage properties,thereby demonstrating an outstanding rate property of 110.3 m A h g^(-1)at 5 A g^(-1)and delivering a long-period cycling stability with a reversible capacity of 197.2 m A h g^(-1)after 500 cycles at 1 A g^(-1).In addition,the conversion and alloying processes of Sb_(2)WO_(6)@PPy in PIBs with the generation of intermediates,K_(2)WO_(4)and K_(3)Sb,is determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and exsitu X-ray diffraction during potassiation/*** functional theory calculations demonstrate that the robust coupling between PPy and Sb_(2)WO_(6)endues it with a much stronger total density of states and a built-in electric field,thereby increasing the electronic conductivity,and thus effectively reduces the K^(+)diffusion barrier.

The heavy water-moderated molten salt reactor(HWMSR)is a newly proposed reactor concept,in which heavy water is adopted as the moderator and molten salt dissolved with fissile and fertile elements is used as the *** arising from graphite in traditional molten salt reactors,including the positive temperature coefficient and management of highly radio-active spent graphite waste,can be addressed using the *** now,research on the HWMSR has been centered on the core design and nuclear fuel cycle to explore the viability of the HWMSR and its advantages in fuel ***,the core safety of the HWMSR has not been extensively ***,we evaluate typical accidents in a small modular HWMSR,including fuel salt inlet temperature overcooling and overheating accidents,fuel salt inlet flow rate decrease,heavy water inlet temperature overcooling accidents,and heavy water inlet mass flow rate decrease accidents,based on a neutronics and thermal-hydraulics coupled *** results demonstrated that the core maintained safety during the investigated accidents.

A thermochemical model description of CaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) silicate system

A thermochemical model based on the ion and molecule coexistence theory(IMCT)was developed to calculate thermodynamic data in the CaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) slag system,considering the influential role of oxide activities on the thermodynamic properties of *** this model,iso-activity contours were obtained for oxide components CaO,SiO_(2) and Al2O3 in this system at temperatures of 1,873 K and 1,773 *** compared with the IMCT model,it is found that the predicted activities of oxide components in the CaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) system using the model developed in this study better matches experimental data from literature in terms of both trend and numerical ***,the model developed in this study can serve as a robust modeling tool for metallurgical processes,and the thermodynamic data predicted by this new model can be used to improve the metallurgical technology.

Biochar reduces uptake and accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in winter wheat on a PAH-contaminated soil

For years, biochar has been successfully used for the remediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in contaminated soils, not only for improving their removal from soil but also for reducing their uptake by crops. However, the underlying mechanism of biochar application reducing PAH uptake and accumulation in winter wheat remains unclear. Pot trials were conducted on a PAH-contaminated soil amended with bamboo biochar, coconut shell biochar,and maize straw biochar(MSB) for an entire growth period of winter wheat. Compared with no biochar control(CK), application of the three types of biochar significantly(P < 0.01) reduced grain PAH concentration, total equivalent concentration(TEC), and incremental lifetime cancer risk(ILCR), indicating that biochar application, especially MSB, reduced the risk of exposure to PAHs in wheat grain. Furthermore, all three types of biochar significantly(P < 0.05)reduced PAH uptake and accumulation in wheat roots and stems, probably because biochar application enhanced the degradation of PAHs in the rhizosphere soil. Compared with CK, application of the three types of biochar significantly(P < 0.05) reduced the concentration of PAHs in the rhizosphere soil by15.9%–33.7%. It was found that the degradation rate of high-molecular-weight(HMW) PAHs(5-and 6-ring PAHs) was significantly(P < 0.05) higher than that of low-molecular-weight(LMW) PAHs(2–4-ring PAHs) regardless of the type of biochar used. Additionally, all three types of biochar significantly increased the relative abundance of the dominant bacterial phyla and genera in soil. Redundancy and correlation analyses also showed that there was a strong correlation between the removal rate of PAHs and dominant bacteria in the rhizosphere soil. This study indicated that biochar effectively reduced the health risk from dietary exposure to PAHs in wheat grains by increasing the abundance of bacteria related to PAH degradation, promoting the biodegradation of PAHs in the rhizosphere

Effect of plant growth regulators on direct somatic embryogenesis in camphor tree(Cinnamomum camphora L.)from immature zygotic embryos and embryogenic calli induction

A description of a successful direct somatic embryogenesis induction from immature zygotic embryos of a camphor tree （Cinnamomum camphora L.） is presented. After a subculture of 2-3 years, embryogenic calli could be derived from primary somatic embryos. Immature zygotic embryos were cultured on a Murashige and Skoog （MS） basal medium supplemented with a range of combinations of cytokinins （BA） and auxins （2,4-D or NAA） for somatic embryo induction. Primary somatic embryos could be induced directly in almost all PGR combinations. A positive effect of 2,4-D on somatic embryogenesis from immature zygotic embryos of camphor tree was obtained. BA at appropriate concentrations （〈 5 mg-L-1） had an effect similar to 2,4-D, whereas high concentrations （〉 5 mg·L^-1） of BA had the effect of restraining somatic embryo induction. NAA had a less positive effect on somatic embryogenesis than 2,4-D.
