Effect of Doxorubicin on Histomorphology of Liver of Wistar Albino Rats

Doxorubicin is associated with adverse effects on organs like liver. This study was done to find the effects of doxorubicin on liver of wistar albino rats. Sixty healthy wistar albino rats were taken for the study. The rats were randomly divided in to 4 groups （2 experimental groups; group AI and A2, and 2 control groups;group Bland B2 each containing 16 rats）. The experimental groups were given a single dose of doxorubicin i.e. 10 mg/kg body weight intraperitoneally and sacrificed after 7 days and 14 days for each group. Rats under control groups were given a single intraperitoneal dose of 2.5 ml/kg body weight normal saline and sacrificed with their respective experimental groups. A significant difference （p 〈 0.001） and （p = 0.005） in final body weight was observed among group A1 experimental and BI control rats, and among group A2 experimental and B2 control rats. As compared to group B2 control, group A2 experimental rats had significantly （p = 0.043） lower liver weight. Diameter ofhepatocyte （p 〈 0.001 for both groups） and nucleus （p=0.004 for group A1 and control BI, and p 〈 0.001 for group A2 and control B2） was significantly higher in experimental rats as compared to their respective controls. Cross-sections of the liver of both control groups had normal architecture. However, there was progressive destruction of liver architecture across the experimental groups. Doxorubicin causes the disruption of normal architecture of liver in rats. Thus care needs to be taken during doxorubicin chemotherapy to minimize effects on river.

Bamboo resources of Sikkim Himalaya: diversity, distribution and utilization

We recorded 8 genera and over 30 species of bamboo in Sikkim of the reported 23 genera and 125 species in Indi＆ Thirty percent of bamboo species were recorded in tropical forests （0-900 m）, 40% of species in sub-tropical forests （900-1,800 m）, 17% of species in temper- ate forests （1,800-2,700 m）, 9% of species in sub-alpine forests （2,700-3,500 m） and 4% of species in alpine vegetation （3,500-4,500 m）. Bamboo is used for various purposes and its versatility qualifies it to be a multiple-use alternative to timber, food for villagers and for tribal in particular. Bamboo is also equally important to Red Panda （Ailurusful- gens）, the state animal of Sikkim. We develop a list of bamboos occur- ring in Sikkim with their vernacular names, distributions and uses in the Himalayan state. However, more extensive study is required to fully describe the bamboo diversity of the Himalayan state.

Thermodynamic behaviour of Rashba quantum dot in the presence of magnetic field

The thermodynamic properties of an In Sb quantum dot have been investigated in the presence of Rashba spin–orbit interaction and a static magnetic field. The energy spectrum and wave-functions for the system are obtained by solving the Schrodinger wave-equation analytically. These energy levels are employed to calculate the specific heat, entropy,magnetization and susceptibility of the quantum dot system using canonical formalism. It is observed that the system is susceptible to maximum heat absorption at a particular value of magnetic field which depends on the Rashba coupling parameter as well as the temperature. The variation of specific heat shows a Schottky-like anomaly in the low temperature limit and rapidly converges to the value of 2kB with the further increase in temperature. The entropy of the quantum dot is found to be inversely proportional to the magnetic field but has a direct variation with temperature. The substantial effect of Rashba spin–orbit interaction on the magnetic properties of quantum dot is observed at low values of magnetic field and temperature.

Prediction of rock mass classification in tunnel boring machine tunneling using the principal component analysis (PCA)-gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network

Due to the complexity of underground engineering geology,the tunnel boring machine(TBM)usually shows poor adaptability to the surrounding rock mass,leading to machine jamming and geological *** the TBM project of Lanzhou Water Source Construction,this study proposed a neural network called PCA-GRU,which combines principal component analysis(PCA)with gated recurrent unit(GRU)to improve the accuracy of predicting rock mass classification in TBM *** input variables from the PCA dimension reduction of nine parameters in the sample data set were utilized for establishing the PCA-GRU ***,in order to speed up the response time of surrounding rock mass classification predictions,the PCA-GRU model was ***,the prediction results obtained by the PCA-GRU model were compared with those of four other models and further examined using random sampling *** indicated by the results,the PCA-GRU model can predict the rock mass classification in TBM tunneling rapidly,requiring about 20 s to *** performs better than the previous four models in predicting the rock mass classification,with accuracy A,macro precision MP,and macro recall MR being 0.9667,0.963,and 0.9763,*** Class II,III,and IV rock mass prediction,the PCA-GRU model demonstrates better precision P and recall R owing to the dimension reduction *** random sampling analysis indicates that the PCA-GRU model shows stronger generalization,making it more appropriate in situations where the distribution of various rock mass classes and lithologies change in percentage.

Aripiprazole(ARI),a second-generation atypical antipsychotic drug approved for schizophrenia treatment,shows good efficacy against ***,the poorly aqueous solubility of ARI leads to low bioavailability and increased dose-related side effects,seriously limiting its application in ***,we demonstrated the fabrication of ARI and poly(methyl vinyl etherco-maleic anhydride)(PVMMA)composite nanoparticles(PA NPs)using the supercritical antisolvent(SAS)process for enhancing its water-solubility and curative anti-depressant ***,the optimal experimental conditions(ARI/PVMMA mass ratio of 1:6,pressure of 10MPa,and solution flow rate of 0.75ml min^(-1))were determined by a 23 factorial experimental design,resulting in the PA NPs with an excellent particle *** vitro cell experiments showed that PA NPs significantly inhibited the inflammatory response caused by the microglia activation induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Similarly,mice behavioral tests demonstrated that PA NPs significantly improved LPS-induced depression-like ***,compared with free ARI,the LPS-induced activation of microglia in the mouse brain and the expression of inflammatory factors in serum were significantly reduced after treatment with PA ***,the innovative PA NPs designed by SAS processmight provide a candidate for developing new ARI-based nano-formulations.

This paper builds on exploring the applications of biomediated pathways to solve geotechnical ***,the state of the art of biological remediation strategies including microbial remediation and phytoremediation have been introduced and critically reviewed in the context of decontaminating the ***,biopolymerisation,biomineralisation and bioneutralisation processes have been depicted with a special emphasis on the applications including but not limited to soil stabilisation,soil erosion prevention,anti-desertification and pH *** of these methods have their own limitations and bottlenecks while scaling up,and these challenges have been summarised and some possible paths to overcome the challenges have also been *** state of the art of electromagnetic(EM)monitoring methods to capture the effects of biomediation on spatio-temporal soil properties are then highlighted as a non-invasive and rapid pathway to track the progress of biomediated soil ***,each of the technologies discussed have been evaluated for their maturity level using the principles of technology readiness level(TRL).A majority of the technologies amounting to around 77%are still in the TRL 4e7,*** the valley of *** is thus evident that development of these technologies needs to be supported with appropriate funding for improving their maturity to a level of industrial deployment.

文章针对一艘舱口间甲板发生屈曲破坏的矿砂船,对其舱口间甲板结构进行横向压缩强度分析和可靠性评估。为建立一套初步的可靠性评估方法,首先,采用半解析公式计算舱口间甲板结构在不同破坏模式下的压缩极限强度,其最小值即为结构的临界应力,为强度评估提供依据。其次,基于改进的一次二阶矩法编写FOR⁃TRAN子程序,计算结构的可靠性指标,建立了基于舱口间甲板的横向压缩强度的可靠性分析程序。综合评估结果表明,舱口间甲板结构的强度储备不足以抵抗外部载荷,屈曲破坏发生起始于檐板和舱口间甲板,这与目标船的事故分析报告中的屈曲现象吻合。根据舱口间甲板结构的强度和可靠性评估结果,采取三种加强方案,权衡结构安全因子和结构重量从而得出较优的修复加强方案。

Neural Network Modeling for Ni(II) Removal from Aqueous System Using Shelled Moringa Oleifera Seed Powder as an Agricultural Waste

A single-layer Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model was developed to predict the removal efficiency of Ni(II) ions from aqueous solution using shelled Moringa Oleifera seed (SMOS) powder. Batch experiments resulted into standardization of optimum conditions: biomass dosage (4.0 g), Ni(II) concentration (25 mg/L) volume (200 mL) at pH 6.5. A time of forty minutes was found sufficient to achieve the equilibrium. The ANN model was designed to predict sorption efficiency of SMOS for target metal ion by combining back propagation (BP) with principle component analysis. A sigmoid axon was used as transfer function for input and output layers. The Levenberg–Marquardt Algorithm (LMA) was applied, giving a minimum mean squared error (MSE) for training and cross validation at the ninth place of decimal.
