Background:To understand the dietary composition of the highly aerial swift(Apodidae),ecologists conventionally depend on the morphological identification of prey items from food boluses or stomach contents,but these techniques are often invasive,require expertise in identification,and often cannot produce accurate identifications at the species ***:DNA barcoding was used to analyse the dietary composition of House Swifts(Apus nipalensis)in Hong Kong,*** samples from five different colonial nest sites were collected between 2019 and *** used universal primers to amplify a region of the cytochrome C oxidase gene from prey DNA in the faecal samples for identification ***:Ten different orders and 44 families from three different classes of Arthropoda were identified in the collected faecal ***,Hemiptera and Diptera were the most prevalent groups of prey found in the *** in the dietary composition of House Swifts during the breeding(April to September)and nonbreeding(October to March)season were also ***,particularly ants(Formicidae),were predominant in the diet during the breeding season,whereas Diptera and Hemiptera were predominant during the non-breeding ***:The prey groups identified in this study were similar to those identified in a previous study of the diet of House Swift,which also suggests a possible role of House Swifts in reducing the numbers of local insect *** study demonstrates the usefulness of applying molecular tools for the dietary analysis of aerial *** local forested areas may be crucial for the maintenance of House Swift population.

Anisotropic CeCo4.325_xCuo.675Fex （x ： 0.475- 0.875） sintered magnets were prepared by traditional powder metallurgical method. Influence of ball-nfilling time and iron content on microstructure and magnetic properties of the CeCo4,325-xCuo.675Fex sintered magnets were investigated. It is shown that the properties of the magnet produced by mag- netic powders ball-milled for 40 min are better than that for 30 rain. With iron content increasing, remanence Br and maxi- mum energy product （BH）m increase first and then decrease. The optimal magnetic properties are obtained for the CeCo3.65Cuo.675Feo.675 sintered magnet： Br=0.685 T, the intrinsic coercivity Hci = 350 kA.m-1, and （BH）m ： 85.6 kJ.m-3. The increase of Br is mainly influenced by iron content of 1：5 matrix which can properly increase the saturation induction Bs; the rapid increase of the amount of Ce-rich phase and 5：19 phase gives rise to the deterioration of the magnets when x ≥ 0.775.

Poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)and its derivatives based gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs)are severely limited in advanced and safe lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)owing to the intrinsically high flammability of liquid electrolytes and *** adding flame retardants to the GPEs can suppress their flammability and thus improve the safety of LIBs,but results in deteriorative electrochemical ***,a novel GPE with chemically bonded flame retardant(*** vinylphosphonate)in cross-linked polyethylene glycol diacrylate matrix,featuring both high-safety and high-performance,is *** as-prepared GPE storing the commercial 1 mol L^(-1) LiPF6 electrolyte resists high temperature of 200℃and cannot be ignited as well as possesses a high ionic conductivity(0.60 m S cm^(-1))and good compatibility with ***,the LiFePO_(4)/Li battery with this GPE delivers a satisfactory capacity of 142.2 m A h g^(-1) and a superior cycling performance with a capacity retention of 96.3%and a coulombic efficiency of close to 100%for 350 cycles at 0.2 C under ambient ***,the battery can achieve steady charge–discharge for 100 cycles with a coulombic efficiency of 99.5%at 1 C under 80℃and run normally even at a high temperature of 150℃or under the exposure to butane *** scanning calorimetry manifests significantly improved battery safety compared to commercial battery *** work provides a new pathway for developing next-generation advanced LIBs with enhanced performance and high safety.

The brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens is an economically important pest on rice plants. This species produces macropterous and brachypterous morphs in response to environmental cues, which makes it very dififcult to control. The molecular basis of wing patterning in N. lugens is stil unknown. It is necessary to identify wing patterning genes of N. lugens, and also to clarify the expression differences of wing patterning genes between macropterous and brachypter-ous morphs. High-throughput deep sequencing of transcriptome of N. lugens wing pad yielded 116 744 580 raw reads and 113 042 700 clean reads. Al the reads were assembled into 55 963 unigenes with an average length of 804 bp. With the E-value cut-off of 1.0E–5,18 359 and 2 883 unigens had hits in NCBI-NR (NCBI non-redundant protein sequences) and NCBI-NT (NCBI nucleotide sequences) databases, respectively. A total of 16 502 unigenes were assigned to GO (gene ontology) classiifcation, 9 709 ungenes were grouped into 26 COG (cluster of orthologous groups of proteins) classiifcations, and 6 724 unigenes were assigned to different KEGG (Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes) path-ways. In total, 56 unigenes which are homologous to wing patterning genes of Drosophila melanogaster or Tribolium castaneum were identiifed. Out of the 56 unigenes, 24 unigenes were selected, and their expression levels across the ifve nymphal stages between macropterous strain and brachypterous strain were examined by qRT-PCR. Two-way ANOVA analysis showed that development stage had signiifcant effects on the expression level of al the 24 genes (P<0.05). The expression levels of 8 genes (Nlen, Nlhh, Nlsal, NlAbd-A, Nlwg, Nlvg, Nlexd and NlUbx) were signiifcantly affected by wing morph. This is the ifrst transcriptome analysis of wing pads of hemimetabolous insect, N. lugens. Background:Gallbladder carcinoma is highly aggressive and resistant to chemotherapy,with no consistent strategy to guide first line ***,patient-derived xenograft(PDX)model has been increasingly used as an effective model for in preclinical study of ***:Mini-PDX model was established using freshly resected primary lesions from 12 patients with gallblad-der to examine the sensitivity with five of the most commonly used chemotherapeutic agents,namely gemcitabine,oxaliplatin,5-fluorouracil,nanoparticle albumin-bound(nab)-paclitaxel,and *** results were used to guide the selection of chemotherapeutic agents for adjunctive treatment after the ***-Meier method was used to compare overall survival(OS)and disease free survival(DFS)with 45 patients who received conventional chemo-therapy with gemcitabine and ***:Cell viability assays based on mini-PDX model revealed significant heterogeneities in drug ***-Meier analysis showed that patients in the PDX-guided chemotherapy group had significantly longer median OS(18.6 months;95%CI 15.9-21.3 months)than patients in the conventional chemotherapy group(13.9 months;95%CI 11.7-16.2 months)(P=0.030;HR 3.18;95%CI 1.47-6.91).Patients in the PDX-guided chemotherapy group also had significantly longer median DFS(17.6 months;95%CI 14.5-20.6 months)than patients in the conventional chemotherapy group(12.0 months;95%CI 9.7-14.4 months)(P=0.014;HR 3.37;95%CI 1.67-6.79).Conclusion:The use of mini-PDX model to guide selection of chemotherapeutic regimens could improve the out-come in patients with gallbladder carcinoma.

The rapid advancement of remote sensing technology has heightened concerns over the security of sensitive information. This paper presents an intelligent encryption scheme for remote sensing images using dimensionality variation. The scheme employs two high-dimensional chaotic systems to generate keys for simultaneous row-column scrambling and diffusion. By mapping a 2D plain-image to a 3D space， pixels are rearranged within a 3D cube using a chaotic key， followed by auto-correlation cyclic diffusion. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach significantly enhances encryption security， making it suitable for secure remote sensing image communication.
