Cemented paste backfill(CPB)is extensively used for underground mine support and/or tailings ***,CPB behavior under cyclic loadings might be affected by the chemistry of its porewater,which often contains sulphate *** today,no studies have addressed the effect of sulphate on the response of CPB to cyclic loadings by using shaking table *** study presents new findings of assessing the effect of the sulphate in the pore water of CPB on its geotechnical response to cyclic loading by using shaking *** mixtures were prepared(with and without sulphate),poured into a flexible laminar shear box,cured to 4 h,and then exposed to cyclic loading using one-dimensional(1D)shaking *** parameters(*** water pressure,settlement,lateral deformation,acceleration,electrical conductivity,effective stress,and liquefaction susceptibility)were monitored or determined before,during,and after *** results indicate that the sulphate-bearing CPB cured to 4 h can be prone to liquefaction under the studied ***,sulphate-free CPB samples are resistant to *** results are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the effect of water chemistry on the cyclic behavior of CPB,consequently enhancing the cost-effective design of CPB structures.

Assessment of Physicochemical and Nutritional Characteristics of Sclerocarya birrea A. Almonds and Oil from Burkina Faso

Sclerocarya birrea fruits and almonds are used in human nutrition and are a source of income for the rural population of Burkina Faso. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physico-chemical and nutritional characteristics of Sclerocarya birrea A. rich (Anacardiaceae) almonds from Burkina Faso. Fresh ripe fruits of Sclerocarya birrea were collected in three regions of Burkina Faso: the North, the Mouhoun loop and the Hauts-Bassins. The physicochemical parameters of almonds and oil extracted from almonds were determined using AOAC methods. Amino acids were measured by HPLC and minerals by atomic absorption spectrometry. The results show that Sclerocarya birrea almonds have a moisture of 4.16% ± 0.40% with 4.47% ± 0.20% total ash;28.89% ± 2.08% protein;56.46% ± 2.36% total fat and 10.18% ± 2.14% carbohydrates. Amino acid profile showed that almonds contain all the essential amino acids, with high levels of histidine and phenylalanine. Total ash analyzed consists mainly of calcium (192.85 ± 169.17 mg/100g), potassium (806.71 ± 324.48 mg/100g), magnesium (386.57 ± 176.03 mg/100g) and sodium (28.68 ± 20.55 mg/100g), with a Na/k ratio of 0.03 ± 0.01. Almonds also contain iron (3.33 ± 1.50 mg/100g) and zinc (6.46 ± 3.06 mg/100g). Sclerocarya birrea oil has a refractive index at 20˚C of 1.46 ± 0.00, an iodine value of 25.40 ± 3.18 g I2/100g and a saponification value of 190.29 ± 10.25 mg kOH/g. S. birrea almonds of Burkina Faso are a source of protein, lipids, carbohydrates, minerals and essential amino acids for the diet and deserve to be developed.

The kou watershed, situated in the Southwestern part of Burkina Faso, has succumbed since a couple of decades in a typical theater play of anarchistic water management. With its 1800 km2, this small watershed holds the second largest city of Burkina Faso (Bobo-Dioulasso), a former State ran irrigated rice scheme and several informal agricultural zones. Despite the abundance on water resources, most water users find themselves regularly facing to water shortages due to an increase in population and low irrigation efficiencies. Local stakeholders are hence in need of easy-to-use and low-cost decision support tools for the monitoring and exploitation of the water resources at different spatial and user levels. A top-to-bottom string of adapted water management tools has been successfully installed to tackle the problems: from watershed (top) to field level (bottom), passing by the 1200 ha irrigation scheme. Land use maps have been derived from time-series of free satellite images. Combined with data from a network of hydrologic gauging stations, regional water use maps were established. SIMIS was put in place for the public-private management of the regions irrigated rice scheme. Day to day water use on irrigated plots was followed by soil humidity and crop canopy measurements. A simple field-cropwater balance model Aqua Crop was used by extension workers to draft optimal irrigation charts. each tool was applied independently, requiring only limited data;but their combined results contributed to an improved integrated water management.

The perinatal mortality is a public health issue in developing countries. In fact, the perinatal death rate seems the highest in a Malian rural area. The objective of this work was to study the perinatal mortality in a rural area of Mali (kadiolo). Methodology: It was a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in kadiolo over 12 months. The study took place from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. We have included in our study all dead fetuses in gestational age ≥ 28 weeks of amenorrhea (WA) or weight ≥ 500 grams (g) and infants died during the first week of life. Mothers who have experienced a perinatal death were included. Results: During the 12 months of study period, we have recorded a total of 2212 births out of which we have collected 205 perinatal deaths, a perinatal mortality rate of 205/2212 with 93 per 1000. The stillbirth rate was 152/2212 with 69‰ and the early neonatal mortality rate was 53/2212 with 24‰. The sociodemographic characteristic of the patients was: patient who has been evacuated 71.70%, unschooled 77.1%, coming out of the city kadiolo 76%, young women 65% and patient who did not receive antenatal care 35%. Conclusion: Our study confirms the high rates of perinatal deaths in rural areas. The implementation of a coherent and efficient care strategy should help in reducing the still high rates.

Artificial induction of labor (AIL) is the set of techniques intended to induce childbirth in order to reduce maternal-fetal mortality. The aim of this paper was to study the maternal and fetal prognosis after the artificial induction of labor with misoprostol. It was a descriptive prospective study conducted from September 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019 at the maternity unit of the Referral Health Center (RHC) in commune I of Bamako. It was about any pregnant woman at term who had received misoprostol as part of the artificial induction of labor. 102 cases of artificial induction with misoprostol 200 μg were collected out of 3641 deliveries, or a frequency of 2.8%. The age group 28 - 32 years accounted for 56.86% with an average age of 28.8 years. Multiparous represented 54.90% of the number. The history of diabetes and hypertension involved 37.25% of the pregnant women. The main indication was premature rupture of membranes (PRM) (40.2%). Induction was performed between the 37th and 41ste="font-family:Verdana;"> week of amenorrhea (69.6%). The trigger index according to BISHOP was greater than 7 (50.98%). Induction was done only with 3/4 of misoprostol tablet 200 μg (43.14%). The average labor time was 7 hours (89.22%). The vaginal birth concerned 92.16% of pregnant women. An APGAR10 was noted in 97.85% of newborns after 05 minutes. AIL with misoprostol was practiced at the Center. The main indication was the premature rupture of the membranes. It improves the maternal and fetal prognosis.

In this study, a pressure cell apparatus is developed to investigate the early age evolution of the strength and deformation behaviour of cemented paste backfill(CPB) when subjected to various loading conditions under different curing scenarios. The different curing scenarios that are simulated include:(1)drained and undrained conditions,(2) different filling rates,(3) different filling sequences, and(4) different curing stresses. The findings show that drainage, curing stress, curing time and filling rate influence the mechanical and deformation behaviours of CPB materials. The coupled effects of consolidation, drainage and suction contribute to the strength development of drained CPB subjected to curing stress. On the other hand, particle rearrangement caused by the applied pressure and suction development due to self-desiccation plays a significant role in the strength gain of undrained CPB cured under ***, curing stress induces slightly faster rate of cement hydration, which can contribute to strength acquisition.

In this paper, the hydro-mechanical behavior and physical properties of mature fine tailings(MFT) under atmospheric drying are investigated through a column study. In the study, evaporation takes place in the development of suction in the upper parts of the column and increasing suction leads to higher strength in the tailings. After 5 days, the suction in the first lift is around 17 k Pa in the upper part of the *** a second lift is added, the first lift initially loses strength but over a 30 days' period, the strength is recovered to its prior value and suction in the second lift reaches 500 k Pa. The vane shear strength values show a substantial increase in the strength of the MFT after 30 days under atmospheric drying and drainage. The 90% strength found in the column exceeds the threshold(5 k Pa). The hydraulic-mechanical properties of the deposited tailings are closely coupled due to several mechanisms, such as evaporation,drainage, self-consolidation, suction and crack development. The findings of this study will provide a better understanding of the placement behavior of multiple lifts of MFT and thus contribute to reclamation design standards and reduce the use of dedicated disposal areas.

This paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions to neutral stochastic delay functional integro-differential equations perturbed by a fractional Brownian motion BH, with Hurst parameter H e （1/2, 1）. We use the theory of resolvent operators developed by R. Grimmer to show the existence of mild solutions. An example is provided to illustrate the results of this work.
