Introduction: Scrotoschisis is a very rare congenital defect of the scrotum characterized by the exteriorization of one or two testes. We report a case of right scrotoschisis in a newborn as well as a review of the literature for an approach of probable etiology. Patient and Observation: A newborn baby of 8 hours of life, weighing 3200 g was referred to our department for a right scrotal defect with exteriorization of the testis associated with fluid swelling of the left bursa. The 18-year-old mother, primiparous and primigeste followed all the prenatal consultations with eutocic delivery. After clinical investigation the diagnosis of right scrotosisis and left hydrocele was retained. Surgical treatment was carried out by primary closure after orchidopexy and exploration of the contralateral bursa, the content of which was calcified meconium bathed in a yellowish liquid. The post-operative consequences were simple. Conclusion: Scrotoschisis is an extremely rare birth defect whose etiology is poorly understood. However, it could be the cause of meconium peritonitis secondary to a scarred fatal intestinal perforation.

将军二号矿南推过程中,煤层标高逐渐降低,上覆剥离层变厚,提高边坡角保障边坡安全稳定后会使得坑底境界收缩,煤炭资源回收量降低。为在保证边坡安全稳定的前提下提高煤炭资源回收量,同时保障运输道路,本文利用露天采矿学基本原理、时效边坡理论及优化理论,研究上覆岩层厚度逐渐变大条件下的边坡稳定性及稳定性保障方案,探索破碎站下坑的可行性以及在端帮运输道路中断情况下开拓运输系统布置及运距优化,结论如下:(1)根据将二矿边坡地质补充勘探资料,分析了整个矿区岩性,地质构造和水文地质,对首采区各端帮进行了边坡稳定性分析。研究表明:北帮着火区域岩体的稳定性较差,建议将530m平板从5m调整到10m,515m台阶和530m台阶从将原来的15m和10m断面高度分别调整为到13m和12m。东帮可以在满足稳定性的前提下将下部岩体的倾斜角从32°调整为35°以提高经济效益。南帮可以通过快速压帮的方式实现陡帮开采,提高煤炭资源回收。确定了外排土场和内排土场排土作业参数,设置了外排步骤和七个内排排土步骤,规划了2019年度将二矿各台阶排土量。(2)根据煤层赋存条件分析对比了地表破碎站与坑内破碎站优缺点,研究表明选用坑内破碎站可以有效的降低原煤运输距离,同时节约卡车燃油消耗。但由于端帮带式输送机布置会严重影响端帮开拓运输系统,使得南段帮车流量密度过大,同时增加剥离运距。结合当前推进度每6个月需移设带式输送机一次,移设期间会严重影响正常生产。因此综合考虑地表破碎站与坑内破碎站生产运营成本与生产效率,最终建议选择地表破碎站。(3)在年初设计的基础上对剥离物料运输道路进行了优化设计,研究表明南帮B2煤按照年计划最终到界后,在西帮B2煤顶板最南侧搭中间桥可节省运距726m。南端帮B5煤到界煤柱回收完成后,恢复南帮B5以上剥离至内排土场运输系统可节省运距971m。增加北帮472运输平盘和西帮▽490472道路后可节省运距299m。在B2煤顶板预留道路,B2煤南侧增加▽452426道路后可节省运距369m。将南帮首采区到界边帮30m宽B5底板调整为25m宽B3底板以及5m宽B5底板保安平盘,西帮可增加B3底板2顶板运输坡道,节省运距371m。运输系统设计进行优化后,共可节省5108m运距,可节省采剥运费1583.41万元,全年采剥成本降低0.437元/m。该论文有图43幅,表21个,参考文献60篇。

Maternal mortality remains very high in developing countries. In Guinea, it is 550 maternal deaths in 100.000 living birth. More than half of these deaths occur in the postpartum period. Hence the interests to have a better understanding of the factors that hinder the realization of post-natal care (PNC) arise. It is for this reason that the objective of this study is to identify barriers to the use of post-natal care in Guinea. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted in the prefectures of Kindia and Dubréka, in the Administrative Region of Kindia (Guinea) in April and May 2014. Fourteen focus group discussions of women and girls of the community, as well as fifteen individual in-depth interviews (9 with women and 6 with healthcare providers). Results: Most women do their PNC during their child vaccination or in case of postpartum complications. Financial constraints are the main barrier to using postnatal care identified by participants. In general, distance from the health center associated with lack of transport mean and insufficient staffs are factors related to the health system. In addition, poor reception of clients, women’s experience during childbirth, poor programming for PNC as well as the lack of trust and confidentiality between clients and health care providers are the barriers related to health providers. Introduction: Maternal mortality remains a major public health problem in the world. Complications during pregnancy and childbirth are the main causes of maternal mortality in low-income countries. It is estimated that 15% of deaths are related to these complications. Studies have shown that women have little or no acquaintance on sign danger and complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Limited literature exists on women’s knowledge and attitudes about pregnancy and childbirth’s complications as well as the barriers for their management, therefore necessity to carry out this study. Objective: To explore women’s knowledge and attitudes in the community about complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Method: A qualitative study was conducted in three prefectures of Guinea. Eighteen focus groups were conducted with women of reproductive age living in urban and rural areas. Results: Complications during pregnancy and childbirth are common among pregnant women in Guinea. Many women have knowledge about various sorts of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. These complications were mostly vaginal bleeding, abortions and maternal mortality. Surgical Treatment of Urological Complications of Gynecological and Obstetric Surgeries at the University Hospital of Conakry Guinea

Objective: To analyze the management of urological complications of gynecologic and obstetric surgeries. Material and Methods: We retrospectively studied 39 patients hospitalized in the Department of Urology of the Conakry Teaching Hospital for urological complications of gynecological surgery, during 9 years. The epidemiological, diagnostic, surgical and outcome parameters have been analyzed. Results: The urological complications of gynecologic surgery represent 0.29% of admissions in the Department of Urology. The mean age was 31 years with extremes of 18 and 47 years. Etiological factors were dominated by caesarean section with 74.36% of cases. The main lesions observed were vesico-vaginal and uretero-vaginal fistulas respectively 43.6% and 41.2% of cases. The mean delay of diagnosis was 5 months (extreme: 7 days to 3 years). Urine leakage from the vagina was the main symptom. The surgical treatment consisted in 17 surgeries for vesico-vaginal fistulas, 16 surgeries for uretero-vesical reimplantation, 2 surgeries for termino terminal ureterorraphia, 2 surgeries for vesico-uterine fistulas and 1 surgery for hysterectomy. Healing was obtained in all ureteral injuries and we noted two cases of failure in vesico-vaginal fistula. Conclusion: urological complications of gynecologic surgery remain frequent. They are dominated by the vesico-vaginal and uretero-vaginal fistulas and the main etiology is caesarean section. The treatment is surgical in our context.

In the present work, the treatment of synthetic waters doped with iron (II) has been studied. The treatment mechanism used in this study is the biological oxidation which consists, in test tubes, of bringing bacteria isolated on Petri dishes into contact with water containing divalent iron (II). These de-ironing bacteria (non-specific bacteria) are used to carry out laboratory biological oxidation experiments on iron (II) under different pH conditions (pH = 3.4 - 3.6, pH = 7.3 - 7.5 and pH = 9.8 - 10) and variable concentration of iron (II). Biological treatment trials included different concentrations of iron during time intervals of a day. Examination of the elimination kinetics of Iron (II) indicates a removal rate of 59.453% for an initial iron concentration in the synthetic solution of 1 mg·L−1 at basic pH (pH = 9.8 - 10). Therefore, the degradation of divalent iron by this method seems to be quite effective, but it should be noted that biological nitrification is impaired by the presence of high iron concentrations above 5 mg·L−1.

Introduction: Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) diseases in patients living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/ AIDS) are relatively common and of concern to ENT specialists and other health professionals. Aim: It was to describe the epidemiological and diagnostic aspects of ENT and cervicofacial diseases in patients living with HIV/ AIDS. Material and Methods: This was a descriptive study with prospective data collection, conducted over a period of six months (September 16, 2019 to March 16, 2020), carried out at the ENT and Infectious Diseases Departments of the Donka National Hospital. Results: Of 522 HIV-positive patients, 208 (39.8%) presented with ENT diseases. Women represented 62.5% with a sex ratio of 0.6. The mean age was 42.21 years with extremes of 16 and 64 years. Housewives were the most represented (29.8%). Married people were the most affected (76.4%). Cervical involvement was present in 7.7% of patients. Otologic involvement accounted for 43.7%. Oral cavity and pharyngolaryngeal involvement accounted for 50.9%. Nasosinus involvement accounted for 55.7%. HIV type I was the most common (99.5%). Conclusion: Otorhinolaryngology diseases were frequent in HIV positive patients. They may constitute the first reason for consultation. However, these ENT diseases remain in appendix of the opportunistic diseases of HIV/AIDS taking the front stage.

Macrosomia is defined as a term birth weight greater than or equal to 4000 grams, or greater than the 90 percentile of intrauterine growth curves. Excessive weight has harmful consequences for the newborn and is a major health concern. Objectives: To determine the frequency of neonatal macrosomia, describe risk factors and neonatal and maternal complications. Materials and methods: This was a cross-sectional study carried out between January and December 2022, involving newborns whose birth weight was greater than or equal to 4000 grams admitted to the neonatology unit of the Labe regional hospital. Results: 591 deliveries were recorded, 15 of which were macrosomic, representing a frequency of 2.54%. The average age of the women was 30.26 years. History of fetal macrosomia and diabetes was 93.33 and 71.43% respectively. The mean gestational age was 38.71 ± 0.75 SA, the mean antenatal consultation was 3 ± 0.8 and the mode of delivery was caesarean section (66.67%). Third-trimester ultrasound was performed in 53.33% of cases. Macrosomic newborns were male in 80% of cases. Neonatal complications were asphyxia (60%), hypoglycemia (20%) and hypocalcemia (13.33%). Factors associated with neonatal macrosomia were diabetes (P < 0.001), history of macrosomia (P Conclusion: this study shows that the frequency of neonatal macrosomia is 2.54% with high neonatal morbidity among newborns hospitalized in the neonatology unit of the Labé regional hospital. Screening for macrosomia risk factors during pregnancy is essential to prevent perinatal complications.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to report the indications and evaluate the results of vulvectomy in the general surgery department of Ignace Deen Hospital, CHU Conakry. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study, conducted over a period of five (05) years from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022, in the general surgery department of Ignace Deen Hospital, CHU Conakry. We included in our study all patient records in whom vulvectomy was performed. Results: We recorded 15 cases of vulvectomy out of 453 perineal surgeries, i.e. 3.31%, with a mean age of 43.56 years and extremes of 35 and 69 years. Vulvar cancer was the most common diagnosis (46.67%), followed by Buschke-Lowenstein (33.33%) and anal canal cancer extending to the vulva (20%). Six patients had undergone biopsy (40%). Vulvectomy with lymph node dissection was performed in only 9 patients (60%), and all surgical specimens were sent to anatomical pathology (100%). Conclusion: Vulvectomy is a surgical technique most often indicated for the treatment of vulvar cancer.
