As a renewable energy source,geothermal energy has been widely used to provide space heating and cooling for *** thermal performance of ground heat exchanger(GHE)is significant for the operating efficiency of the ground source heat pump(GSHP)*** paper presents a comprehensive review of developments and advances of three kinds of GHE,including vertical borehole GHE(VBGHE),Pile GHE(PGHE),and deep borehole GHE(dBGHE)which are currently popular in larger GSHP ***,analytical models proposed to ana-lyze heat transfer process of VBGHE with different geological conditions are summarized,such as homogenous or heterogeneous ground,with or without groundwater *** and short-time step models and measures to improve GHE thermal performance are also ***,a summary of research advances in PGHE is provided,which includes the heat transfer models of PGHE,the effects of geometric structure,oper-ation modes,pile spacing,use of phase change material(PCM),thermal properties of PCM,thermo-mechanical behavior and/or thermal performance of *** effects of groundwater flow direction and velocity on PGHE are also summarized in ***,models of three kinds of dBGHEs,i.e.,deep coaxial GHE(dCGHE),deep u-bend GHE(duGHE)and super-long gravity heat pipe(SLGHP),are *** physical bases of the dif-ferent analytical models are elaborated and also their advantages and disadvantages are *** in numerical modelling and improving numerical model calculation speed of dCBHE,dCBHE array,and duBHE are *** review provides a meaningful reference for the further study of GHEs.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of complete fusion(CF)above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CdCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(uFF)was also compared with the measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 MeV using the in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identified twoγ-rays feeding the ground and long-lived isomeric states,which were employed to determine the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were similar to the cross sections of complete fusion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system,but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased more gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was performed to study the detailed reaction mechanism of the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the first excited state of 5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transfer mechanism,and the valence proton of 209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.

Annual and seasonal changes of the air temperature with altitude in the upper dades valley, High Atlas, Morocco

The purpose of this study is to determine the size of air temperature changes with altitude in the mountains of the arid zone, on the example of the upper dades valley(High Atlas, Morocco). The air temperature change with altitude was determined on the basis of 5 years data from three meteorological stations. The analysis was carried out on an annual and seasonal basis. The annual and daily variations of thermal gradients between pairs of stations were also determined. It was found that the average thermal gradient in the upper dades valley was-1.02℃ per 100 m. The highest values of the thermal gradient occur in winter and the lowest in summer. In winter,the thermal gradient was characterized by the greatest variability. Minima of the daily variation of air temperature gradients were observed in early morning hours and maxima around midday. In the lower part of the valley, air temperature inversion frequently developed between 10 AM and 3 PM *** obtained results show high thermal gradients in the mountains of the arid zone, with their annual amplitude increasing in the lower parts of the *** instantaneous values of the gradients were significantly modified by the supply of latent heat and the occurrence of dust storms. It has been shown that the advection factor plays an important role in shaping large gradient values. The study contains novel results of thermal gradient measurements in high mountains of arid zone.

Petrographic composition of coal within the Benue Trough,Nigeria and a consideration of the paleodepositional setting

The petrographic composition of Cretaceous-age coals hosted in the Benue Trough,Nigeria is presented and discussed in terms of the paleodepositional settings that infuenced the coal-bearing *** Benue Trough is a failed arm of the triple junction of an inland sedimentary basin that extends in a NE-SW direction from the Gulf of Guinea in the south,to the Chad Basin in the north.A total of twenty-nine(29)coal samples were obtained from nineteen coal localities in the upper(uBT),Middle(MBT),and Lower Benue Trough(LBT).The high average volatile matter yield,low average ash yield,high calorifc value(24.82 MJ/kg,on average),and low sulphur values indicate good quality coal *** organic matter is dominated by vitrinite,reported at an average of 59.3%by volume(mineral-matter free).Variation was noted in the inertinite content across three *** macerals were not commonly observed in the studied samples and were absent in the MBT *** facies studies decipher the paleoenvironmental conditions under which the vegetation *** commonly used are the gelifcation index(GI),tissue preservation index(TPI),ground water index(GWI and variations),vegetation index(VI),and wood index(WI).Comparing the array of coal facies models applied,the MBT samples difer from the uBT and LBT samples,concurring with the coal quality *** uBT and LBT coals formed in an upper deltaic to drier piedmont plane depositional environment,while the MBT coal formed in a lower deltaic marsh to wet forest swamp depositional *** samples indicate an ombrotrophic *** view of the modifed equations and the plots used,interpreting depositional environments from just a single model is not reliable.

A New Proof for Congruent Number’s Problem via Pythagorician divisors

We propose in this article a new direct proof for the numbers n=1 (resp. n=2 ) to be non-congruent numbers, based on an particular induction method of resolution of Equation (1) (note that this method is efficient too for general case of prime numbers n=p≡a ( ( mod8 ) , gcd( a,8 )=1 ).
