Transcription factors play key roles in plant development and stress responses through their interaction with cis-elements and/or other transcription factors. Homeodomain associated leucine zipper proteins (HD-Zip) constitute a family of transcription factors that are characterized by the presence of a DNA-binding domain closely linked with leucine zipper motif functioning in dimer formation. This type of association is unique to plants and considered as an excellent candidate to activate developmental responses to altering environmental conditions. Cotton is the most important fiber plant with a lot of local and commercial uses in the world. HD-Zip proteins not only have key roles in different stages of vascular and inter-fascicular fiber differentiation of cotton but also are suggested to have an important role against abiotic stress that is one of the key factors limiting cotton productivity. Plants have developed various strategies to manage stress conditions through a combination of metabolic, physiological and morphological adaptations. These adaptive changes rely largely on alterations in gene expression. Therefore, transcriptional regulators play a crucial role in stress tolerance. Being a transcription factor HD-Zip might be a useful target for genetic engineering to generate multiple stress tolerance in susceptible plants. In the following chapter, we discussed how the HD-Zip proteins would play a useful role for cotton development both in fiber production and stress adaptation.

Medical data tampering has become one of the main challenges in the field of secure-aware medical data *** of normal patients’medical data to present them as COVID-19 patients is an illegitimate action that has been carried out in different ways ***,the integrity of these data can be *** detection is a method of detecting an anomaly in manipulated forged *** appropriate number of features are needed to identify an anomaly as either forged or non-forged data in order to find distortion or tampering in the original *** neural networks(CNNs)have contributed a major breakthrough in this type of *** has been much interest from both the clinicians and the AI community in the possibility of widespread usage of artificial neural networks for quick diagnosis using medical data for early COVID-19 patient *** purpose of this paper is to detect forgery in COVID-19 medical data by using CNN in the error level analysis(ELA)by verifying the noise pattern in the *** proposed improved ELA method is evaluated using a type of data splicing forgery and sigmoid and ReLU phenomenon *** proposed method is verified by manipulating COVID-19 data using different types of forgeries and then applying the proposed CNN model to the data to detect the data *** results show that the accuracy of the proposed CNN model on the test COVID-19 data is approximately 92%.

Healthcare is a binding domain for the Internet of Things(IoT)to automate healthcare services for sharing and accumulation patient records at anytime from anywhere through the *** current IP-based Internet architecture suffers from latency,mobility,location dependency,and *** Named Data Networking(NDN)has been projected as a future internet architecture to cope with the limitations of IP-based ***,the NDN infrastructure does not have a secure framework for IoT healthcare *** this paper,we proposed a secure NDN framework for IoTenabled Healthcare(IoTEH).In the proposed work,we adopt the services of Identity-Based Signcryption(IBS)cryptography under the security hardness Hyperelliptic Curve Cryptosystem(HCC)to secure the IoTEH information in *** HCC provides the corresponding level of security using minimal computational and communicational resources as compared to bilinear pairing and Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem(ECC).For the efficiency of the proposed scheme,we simulated the security of the proposed solution using Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications(AVISPA).Besides,we deployed the proposed scheme on the IoTEH in NDN infrastructure and compared it with the recent IBS schemes in terms of computation and communication *** simulation results showed the superiority and improvement of the proposed framework against contemporary related works.

The aggregation behavior of the mixture of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride(CTAC), a cationic surfactant, and moxifloxacin hydrochloride(MFH), a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic drug, has been studied using the conductivity technique in aqueous and alcoholic(EtOH, 1-PrOH, and 2-BuOH)media. The study was performed at several temperatures between 298.15 and 323.15 K at 5 K *** assembly has been characterized by evaluating the micellar parameters, such as the critical micelle concentration(CMC) and the counter ion binding(β), of the CTAC + MFH mixture. The values of the CMC for the assembly of the CTAC + MFH mixture were reliant on the composition of alcohols in the mixed solvents and the temperature. The CMC values of the CTAC + MFH mixture increased with increasing temperature;that is, assembly was delayed by increased temperature. The micellization of the CTAC + MFH mixed system was delayed in alcoholic media. The observed-ΔG0mvalues for the association of the CTAC + MFH mixed system demonstrated a spontaneous aggregation process under all study *** on the-ΔH^(0)_(m) and +ΔS^(0)_(m) values, the association of the CTAC + MFH mixture is exothermic and the interaction forces acting between the CTAC and MFH species are hydrophobic, ion–dipole, and electrostatic interactions. The transfer properties and enthalpy–entropy compensation were also assessed and described comprehensively.

Reinforcement Learning Algorithm for Solving Load Commitment Problem Considering a General Load Model

Under the smart grid paradigm, in the near future all consumers will be exposed to variable pricing schemes introduced by utilities. Hence, there is a need to develop algorithms which could be used by the consumers to schedule their loads. In this paper, load scheduling problem is formulated as a LCP (load commitment problem). The load model is general and can model atomic and non-atomic loads. Furthermore, it can also take into consideration the relative discomfort caused by delay in scheduling any load. For this purpose, a single parameter "udc" is introduced in the load model which captures the relative discomfort caused by delay in scheduling a particular load. Guidelines for choosing this parameter are given. All the other parameters of the proposed load model can be easily specified by the consumer. The paper shows that the general LCP can be viewed as multi-stage decision making problem or a MDP (Markov decision problem). RL (reinforcement learning) based algorithm is developed to solve this problem. The efficacy of the algorithm is investigated when the price of electricity is available in advance as well as for the case when it is random. The scalability of the approach is also investigated.

Even though saudi Arabia is the world"s largest producer and exporter of petroleum and petroleum based products, it is also blessed with high potential of renewable energy sources like solar and wind. Untapped wind and solar energy sources, which are abundant throughout the kingdom, can be connected and optimally integrated into the grid through the use of smart grid technologies and the expansion of transmission facilities. Smart grid is an auto-balancing, self-monitoring power grid that accepts power from any source of fuel like oil, sun or wind and delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers. It helps to control the use of appliances in order to save energy, reduces cost and increase reliability. This paper describes the attributes of a smart grid and how these act as driving force to modernize the electrical power grid. The necessity of conservation of oil in saudi Arabia is argued. Moreover, the vast availability of renewable energy sources like solar and wind in saudi Arabia and advantages in utilizing these sources through smart grid technologies are advocated in this paper.
