Advanced maternal age and adverse obstetrical and neonatal outcomes of singleton pregnancies

Objective:To assess the impact of advanced maternal age on pregnancy and childbirth outcomes of singleton *** design:We retrospectively assessed singleton pregnant mothers who gave birth at Khaleej-e-Fars Hospital in Bandar Abbas,Iran,from January 2020 to January *** and obstetrical factors include educational level,medical insurance,residency place,access to prenatal care facilities,number of prenatal care visits,smoking status,gestational age,parity,infertility,maternal comorbidities,preeclampsia,eclampsia,preterm birth,low birth weight(LBW),intrauterine growth restriction(IUGR),macrosomia,placenta abnormalities(previa/acreta),placenta abruption,chorioamnionitis,meconium fluid,fetal distress,methods of delivery,rate of cesarean section(CS),perineal lacerations,postpartum hemorrhage,childbirth injury,shoulder dystocia,congenital malformation,neonatal asphyxia,and unfavorable maternal and neonatal outcome were compared between two *** Chi-square test assessed the relationship between categorical factors and maternal age *** influence of advanced maternal age on the risk of unfavorable pregnancy outcomes was evaluated using bivariate and multivariate logistic ***:Of 8354 singleton deliveries,22.2%belonged to advanced-age ***-age mothers had less education than those aged 20–34 years *** hypertension,cardiovascular disease,overt diabetes,and thyroid dysfunction were more prevalent among advanced-age *** with mothers aged 20–34 years,mothers aged 35 years and higher had a significantly higher risk of gestational diabetes(aOR:3.18,95%CI:1.56–6.95),preeclampsia(aOR:2.91,95%CI:1.35–4.72),placenta abnormalities(aOR:1.09,95%CI:0.77–1.94),CS(aOR:3.16,95%CI:1.51–3.87),postpartum hemorrhage(aOR:1.94,95%CI:1.24–2.61),intensive care unit admission(aOR:1.36,95%CI:1.15–1.99),LBW(aOR:1.35,95%CI:0.97–2.96),preterm birth(aOR:2.36,95%CI:1.65–4.83),stillbirth(aOR:1.18,95%CI:1.01–3.16),and neonatal

Urban-rural differences in the pregnancy-related adverse outcome

Background:Little is known about potential urban-rural differences in adverse pregnancy *** purpose of this study is to look into the urban-rural differences in the trend of adverse maternal and neonatal ***:We retrospectively assessed the pregnancy outcome of singleton pregnant mothers who gave birth at a tertiary hospital in Bandar Abbas,Iran,between January 1st,2020,and January 1st,*** were divided into two groups based on living residency:1)urban groupand 2)rural *** factors,obstetrical factors,maternal comorbidities,and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomeswere extracted from the electronic data of each *** Chi-square testwas used to compare differences between the groups for categorical *** regression models were used to assess the association of adverse pregnancy,childbirth,and neonatal outcome with living ***:Of 8888 mothers that gave birth during the study period,2989(33.6%)lived in rural *** pregnancy was more common in the rural *** mothers had a higher education than rural *** mothers were at higher risk for preterm birth aOR 1.81(CI:1.24-2.99),post-term pregnancy aOR 1.5(CI:1.07-2.78),anemia aOR 2.02(CI:1.07-2.34),low birth weight(LBW)aOR 1.89(CI:1.56-2.11),need for neonatal resuscitation aOR 2.66(CI:1.78-3.14),and neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)admission aOR 1.98(CI:1.34-2.79).On the other hand,the risk of cesarean section was significantly lower compared to urban mothers aOR 0.58(CI:0.34-0.99).Conclusions:Our study discovered that mothers living in rural areas had a higher risk of developing anemia,preterm birth,post-term pregnancies,LBW,need for neonatal resuscitation,and NICU admission,but a lower risk of cesarean section.

A Quantum Chemical Investigation on the Antioxidant Activity of Licoisoflavone Derivatives

In this paper,21 substituents with various electron donating and electron withdrawing characters were placed in the available positions of Licoisoflavone in order to study their effect on the three O–H bond dissociation enthalpies and ionisation potential via DFT/B3LYP *** show that the B-ring is more important than the A-ring from the BDE and IP point of view because the radical structure formed after hydrogen atom abstraction from the 4-OH group can be stabilized by the resonance between the three *** results show that intramolecular hydrogen bonding effects are able to considerably stabilize the parents and *** NBO analysis results also confirmed the intramolecular hydrogen bond *** formation of strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds and suitable spin density distributions in several radicals result in low BDE and IP *** calculated BDE and IP values have been correlated with Hammett *** found dependencies are suitably linear,which can be important for the synthesis of novel antioxidants based on Licoisoflavone.

Optimal control homotopy perturbation method for cancer model

In this paper, we introduced the optimal control homotopy perturbation method (OCHPM) by using the homotopy perturbation method (HPM). Every one, by using of the proposed method, can obtain numerical solutions of mathematical modeling for cancer-immunotherapy. In this paper, in order to prove the preciseness and efficiency of the OCHPM method, we compared the obtained numerical solutions with HPM. The results obtained showed that the OCHPM method is powerful to generate the numerical solutions for some therapeutic models.

Modeling of forest soil and litter health using disturbance and landscape heterogeneity indicators in northern Iran

This paper focuses on the indicators of soil and litter health, disturbance, and landscape heterogeneity as a tool for prediction of ecosystem sustainability in the northern forests of Iran. The study area was divided into spatial homogenous sites using slope, aspect, and soil humidity classes. Then a range of sites along the disturbance gradient was selected for sampling. Chemical and physical indicators of soil and litter health were measured at random points within these sites. Structural equation modeling(SEM) was applied to link six constructs of landscape heterogeneity, three constructs of disturbance(harvest, livestock, and human accessibility), and soil and litter health. The results showed that with decreasing accessibility, the total N and organic matter content of soil increased and effective bulk density decreased. Harvesting activities increased soil organic matter. Therefore, it is concluded that disturbances through harvesting and accessibility inversely affect the soil health. Unexpectedly, it was found that the litter total C and C:N ratio improved with an increase in the harvest and accessibility disturbances, whereas litter bulk density decreased. Investigation of tree composition revealed that in the climax communities, which are normally affected more by harvesting activities, some species like Fagus orientalis Lipsky with low decomposition rate are dominant. The research results showed that changes in disturbance intensity are reflected in litter and soil indicators, whereas the SEM indicated that landscape heterogeneity has a moderator effect on the disturbance to both litter and soil paths.

The electrooxidation of L-cysteine（L-Cys） was studied using a benzoylferrocene（BF） modified multi-wall carbon nanotube paste electrode（BFCNPE） using cyclic voltammetry（CV）,square wave voltammetry（SWV） and chronoamperometry（CHA）.Under optimum pH in CV the oxidation of L-Cys occurs at a potential about 215 mV less positive than that at the surface of unmodified carbon paste *** catalytic oxidation peak currents were dependent on the L-Cys concentration and a linear calibration curve was obtained in the range 0.7-350.0 mmol/L of L-Cys with SWV *** detection limit（3s） was determined as 0.1 mmol/*** method was also used for the determination of L-Cys in some real samples.

Screening for probiotic characters in lactobacilli isolated from chickens revealed the intra-species diversity of Lactobacillus brevis

Considering the importance of the poultry industry and the increasing interest in alternative growth promoters,probiotics are considered as a potential candidate for use in the poultry *** this study,Lactobacillus species were isolated from 21 rectal swabs of 11 healthy 6-day-old and 10 healthy 21-day-old chickens and their fecal and feed *** isolates were characterized and their probiotic characteristics,including resistance to gastric acid and bile salts,biofilm formation and adherence to epithelium or mucus,amylase and protease activity and production of inhibitory compounds,were *** 31 acid and bile resistant lactobacilli,only 2 Lactobacillus brevis and 1 Lactobacillus reuteri strains showed significant probiotic *** isolates indicated detectable attachment to Caco-2 cells and significant antibacterial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative ***,phenotypic and genotypic diversity of lactobacilli isolates were studied by Phene Plate(PhP)system(PhP-LB)and random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)-PCR,***-LB results of 24 *** isolates showed a high phenotypic variation among the *** comparison,results of RAPD-PCR highlighted a low ***,it seems that combination of the 2 techniques(PhP and RAPD-PCR)could result in a significant discriminatory power than each of them used alone.
