Many species exhibit color polymorphisms which have distinct physiological and behavioral ***,the consistency of morph trait covariation patterns across species,time,and ecological contexts remains *** trait covariation is especially relevant in the context of invasion biology and urban ***,physiological traits pertaining to energy maintenance are crucial to fitness,given their immediate ties to individual reproduction,growth,and population *** investigated the physiological traits of Podarcis muralis,a versatile color polymorphic species that thrives in urban environments(including invasive populations in Ohio,USA).We measured five physiological traits(plasma corticosterone and triglycerides,hematocrit,body condition,and field body temperature),which compose an integrated multivariate *** then tested variation among co-occurring color morphs in the context of establishment in an urban *** found that the traits describing physiological status and strategy shifted across the active season in a morph-dependent manner—the white and yellow morphs exhibited clearly different multivariate physiological phenotypes,characterized primarily by differences in plasma *** suggests that morphs have different strategies in physiological regulation,the flexibility of which is crucial to urban *** white-yellow morph exhibited an intermediate phenotype,suggesting an intermediary energy maintenance *** morphs also exhibited distinct phenotypes,but the low prevalence of this morph in our study populations precludes clear *** work provides insight into how differences among stable polymorphisms exist across axes of the phenotype and how this variation may aid in establishment within novel environments.

Long-term outcomes of postgastrectomy syndrome after total laparoscopic distal gastrectomy using the augmented rectangle technique

BACKGROUND For total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer,the reconstruction method is critical to the clinical outcome of the ***,which reconstruction technique is optimal remains *** originally reported the augmented rectangle technique(ART)as a reconstruction option for total laparoscopic Billroth I ***,little is known about its effect on long-term outcomes,specifically the incidence of postgastrectomy syndrome and its impact on quality of *** To analyze postgastrectomy syndrome and quality of life after ART using the Postgastrectomy Syndrome Assessment Scale-37(PGSAS-37)*** At Juntendo University,a total of 94 patients who underwent ART for Billroth I reconstruction with total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer between July 2016 and March 2020 completed the PGSAS-37 *** analysis was performed,comparing those 94 ART cases from our institution(ART group)to 909 distal gastrectomy cases with a Billroth I reconstruction from other Japanese institutions who also completed the PGSAS-37 as part of a larger national database(PGSAS group).RESULTS Patients in the ART group had significantly better total symptom scores in all the symptom subscales(i.e.,esophageal reflux,abdominal pain,meal-related distress,indigestion,diarrhea,constipation,and dumping).The loss of body weight was marginally greater for those in the ART group than in the PGSAS group(-9.3%vs-7.9%,P=0.054).The ART group scored significantly lower in their dissatisfaction of ongoing symptoms,during meals,and with daily *** ART for Billroth I reconstruction provided beneficial long-term results for postgastrectomy syndrome and quality of life in patients undergoing total laparoscopic distal gastrectomies for gastric cancer.

Background:The use of poor quality antimalarial medicines,including the use of nonrecommended medicines for treatment such as sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine(SP)monotherapy,undermines malaria control and elimination ***,the use of subtherapeutic doses of the active ingredient(s)can theoretically promote the emergence and transmission of drug resistant ***:We developed a deterministic compartmental model to quantify the impact of antimalarial medicine quality on the transmission of SP resistance,and validated it using sensitivity analysis and a comparison with data from Kenya collected in *** modelled human and mosquito population dynamics,incorporating two Plasmodium falciparum subtypes(SP-sensitive and SP-resistant)and both poor quality and good quality(artemether-lumefantrine)antimalarial ***:The model predicted that an increase in human malaria cases,and among these,an increase in the proportion of SP-resistant infections,resulted from an increase in poor quality SP antimalarial use,whether it was full-or half-dose SP ***:Our findings suggest that an increase in poor quality antimalarial use predicts an increase in the transmission of *** highlights the need for stricter control and regulation on the availability and use of poor quality antimalarial medicines,in order to offer safe and effective treatments,and work towards the eradication of malaria.

t Magnetic null points and flux ropes play important roles in the three-dimensional process of magnetic reconnection. In this study, a cluster of null points are reconstructed in the reconnection region in the magnetotail by applying a fitting-reconstruction method to measurements from the Cluster mission. The number of recon- structed null points varies rapidly, presenting a turbulentlike evolution of the magnetic structure. The electron density and the flux of the accelerated electrons were enhanced in this turbulent-like region. During this unstable reconnection process, a B-As-B null structure was formed, showing flux rope features and resembling a secondary island in the observation.

The development of single electrode with multifunctional purposes for electrochemical devices remains a symbolic challenge in recent *** work explores interfacially-rich transition metal nitride hybrid that consist of nickel nitride and vanadium oxynitride(vO_(0.26)N_(0.52))on robust carbon fiber(denoted CF/Ni_(3)N/vON)as trifunctional electrode for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and sodium ion batteries(SIBs).The as-prepared CF/Ni_(3)N/vON exhibits low HER overpotential of 48 m v@10 m A cm^(-2),OER overpotential of 287 m v@10 m A cm^(-2),and sodium-ion anode storage reversible capacity of 555 m A h g^(-1)@0.2 *** analyses reveal that the Ni_(3)N effectively facilitates hydrogen desorption for HER,increases the electrical conductivity for OER,and promotes the Na-ion storage intercalation process,while the vON substantially elevates the water dissociation kinetics for HER,accelerates the adsorption of OH*intermediate for OER and enhances the Na-ion surface adsorption storage *** to the excellent HER and OER performances of the CF/Ni_(3)N/vON electrode,an overall water splitting device denoted as CF/Ni_(3)N/vON//CF/Ni_(3)N/vON was not only assembled showing an operating voltage of 1.63 v at current density of 10 m A cm^(-2)but was also successfully self-powered by the assembled CF/Ni_(3)N/vON//CF/Na_(3)v_(2)(PO_(4))_(3) flexible sodium ion *** work will contribute to the development of efficient and cost-effective flexible integrated electrochemical energy devices.

1 IntroductionCulture systems capable of expanding and/or maintaining hematopoietic stem cells will not only facilitate our understanding of stem cell biology, but also broaden clinical applications. Among various in vitro hematopoietic culture systems, co-cultures of marrow or CD34+ cells with an adherent stromal layer that can produce cytokines and extracellular matrix components most effectively supports long-term hematopoiesis ( LTC ), mimicking the bone marrow micro-environment.

珊瑚的B同位素组成是海水pH值记录的良好替代指标。对传统的高精度的B同位素组成分析的方法正离子热电离质谱(PTIMS)和负离子热电离质谱(NTIMS)方法进行了对比研究。结果显示,NTIMS分析方法具有极高的灵敏度,可以分析微小样品量,但由于其分馏较明显,并且我们的实验结果表明前人建议的使用O同位素进行分馏校正的方法仅在某些特定情况下适用,而对大多数的测定缺乏有效分馏校正,同时有机质或者激发剂带来的CNO-干扰难以完全排除,因此NTIMS的结果重现性稍差,δ11B外部精度约为±1.0‰(2σ)左右。PTIMS则分馏不明显,Cs2CNO+干扰可以有效监控并排除,可以获得很好的结果:δ11B内部精度和外部精度均优于±0.2‰(2σ),可以满足高精度pH值重建的要求。然而PTIMS方法的灵敏度低,难以对微小样品量进行分析。因此PTIMS和NTIMS方法是相互补充的,相互无法完全取代。
