Electroless Ni-P coatings are attracting attention as excellent properties such as their high hardness,corrosion resistance,and macrothrowing power,and they are used in various *** composite coatings in which particles such as the SiC and PTFE dispersed show more excellent tribological propcrtics than their coatings without composite. Therefore,in this study,with the aim of improving tribological properties,we fabricated electroless Ni-P-SiC/PTFE multilayer coatings prepared by double bath *** sections of the coatings fabricated were observed by scanning electron microscopy and electron microprobe *** of the friction and wear properties of the coatings was performed using a horizontal reciprocating ball-on-plate friction and wear tester. SEM observation and EPMA analysis revealed the formation of Ni-P-SiC/PTFE multilayer coatings. The spalling between layer and layer was not occurred at forced fracture of this coating by the tensile *** the 90 degrees bending test,this coating showed the excellent *** addition, the multilayer coatings show low friction （Figurel）and excellent wear properties（Tablel） superior to those of a Ni-P,Ni-P-SiC,and Ni-P-PTFE *** multilayer coatings,consisting of SiC and PTFE particles,were found to exhibit excellent self-lubricating and wear characteristics under dry condition.

Heterotopic ossification(HO)describes bone formation at non-skeletal sites and results from traumatic injury,surgery,or genetic disease such as fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva(FOP).1,2 Although it is known that BMP signaling regulates HO,knowledge about the developmental origin of the osteogenic progenitors responsible for the BMP-associated metamorphosis is comparably *** the use of transgenic mice and labelled neural crest-derived cell,3 we found myelin protein zero(P0,or MPZ)-and Wnt1-lineage cells give rise to BMP-7 induced adult ectopic cartilage and bone.

This paper presents a comparative study of a meshless level-set method in the simulation of sloshing flows. The numerical moving particle semi-implicit （MPS） method and a grid based schemes of the MPS and level-set methods are outlined and two violent sloshing cases are considered. The computed results are compared with the corresponding experimental data for validation. The impact pressure and the deformations of free surface induced by sloshing are comparatively analyzed, and are in good agreement with experimental ones. Results show that both the MPS and level-set methods are good tools for simulation of violent sloshing flows. However, the second pressure peaks as well as breaking and splashing of free surface by the MPS method are captured better than by the level-set method.

The automated stopping of a spectral measurement with active learning is *** optimal stopping of the measurement is realised with a stopping criterion based on the upper bound of the posterior average of the generalisation error of the Gaussian process *** is revealed that the automated stopping criterion of the spectral measurement gives an approximated X-ray absorption spectrum with sufficient accuracy and reduced data *** proposed method is not only a proof-of-concept of the optimal stopping problem in active learning but also the key to enhancing the efficiency of spectral measurements for highthroughput experiments in the era of materials informatics.

This study focused on measurement of the autothermal reforming of biogas over a Ni based monolithic catalyst. The effects of the steam/CH4 （S/C） ratio, O2/CH4 （O2/C） ratio and temperature were investigated. The CH4 conversions were higher under all examined temperatures than the equilibrium conversion calculated using the blank outlet temperature, because the catalyst layer was heated by the exothermic catalytic partial oxidation reaction. The CH 4conversion increased with increasing O2/C ratio. Moreover, the CH4 conversion was higher than the equilibrium conversion calculated using the blank outlet temperature for O2/C〉0.42 and reached about 100% at O2/C=0.55. However, the hydrogen concentration decreased for O2/C〉0.45 because hydrogen was combusted to steam in the presence of excess oxygen. On the other hand, the hydrogen and CO2 concentrations increased and the CO concentration decreased with increasing SIC ratio. As a result, it was found that the highest hydrogen concentrations and CH4 conversions were attained at the O2/C ratios of 0.45-0.55 and the SIC ratios of 1.5-2.5. Moreover, the H2/CO ratio could also be controlled in the range from about 2 to 3.5 to give at least 90% CH4 conversion, by regulating the O2/C or S/C ratios.

There is a close relation between the characteristics of products and the chemical composition control of inclusions in steelmaking process. Therefore, it is very important for a warranty of product’s characteristics to improve inclusion quality resulting in defective products. In the present work, the control technique of inclusions’ chemical composition is discussed thermodynamically based on the Redlich-Kister type polynomial to metallic solution and regular solution model to molten oxide solution. It is very effective for the precise chemical composition control of oxides to determine the concentration of deoxidizers based on the thermodynamic relation among dissolved deoxidizers and oxygen, because it is known that oxide inclusions are equilibrated with them in molten steel in the steel making process. High alloy steel production process was focused in the present work.

The effect of pore water chemistry on anisotropic behavior of consolidation and shear strength of reconstituted Ariake clay has been investigated *** types of chemicals added into the pore water of the soil for enhancing flocculation microstructure of soil particles are sodium chloride(salt)(NaCl),and calcium chloride(CaCl_(2));and two dispersants added are sodium triphosphate(Na_(5)-P_(3)O_(10))and sodium hexametaphosphate(Na_(6)P_(6)O_(18)),*** concentrations of these chemicals in pore water were 2-3%.Degrees of anisotropy of the coefficient of consolidation and undrained shear strength decreased with adding NaCl and CaCl_(2),but increased with adding the *** of anisotropy also increased with one-dimensional(1D)deformation and the samples with dispersive additives had higher increase *** has been confirmed qualitatively by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images that adding dispersive chemicals promoted the formation of dispersive microstructure and increased the degree of anisotropy,and the chemicals enhancing flocculent microstructure had an inverse *** possible application of the findings to underground construction has been discussed also.
