Increasing data resources are available for documenting and detecting changes in environmental,ecological,and socioeconomic ***,data are distributed across a wide variety of sources(*** silos)and published in a variety of formats,scales,and semantic representations.A key issue,therefore,in building systems that can realize a vision of earth system monitoring remains data *** global grid systems(DGGss)have emerged as a key technology that can provide a common multi-resolution spatial fabric in support of Digital Earth ***,DGGss remain in their infancy with many technical,conceptual,and operational *** renewed interest in DGGs brought on by a recently proposed standard,the demands of big data,and growing needs for monitoring environmental changes across a variety of scales,we seek to highlight current challenges that we see as central to moving the field(s)and technologies of DGGs *** each of the identified challenges,we illustrate the issue and provide a potential solution using a reference DGGs *** articulation of these challenges,we hope to identify a clear research agenda,expand the DGGs research footprint,and provide some ideas for moving forward towards a scaleable Digital Earth *** such challenges helps the GIscience research community to achieve the real benefits of DGGs and provides DGGs an opportunity to play a role in the next generation of GIs.

In today’s digital world,the most inevitable challenge is the protection of digital *** to the weak conﬁdentiality preserving techniques,the existing world is facing several digital information *** make our digital data indecipherable to the unauthorized person,a technique forﬁnding a crypto-graphically strong substitution box(s-box)have *** s-box with sound cryptographic assets such as nonlinearity(NL),strict avalanche criterion(sAC),bit independence criteria(BIC),bit independence criteria of nonlinearity(BIC-NL),Bit independence criteria of strict avalanche criteria(BIC-sAC),and Input/output XOR is considered as the robust *** Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)approach of multi-criteria decision making(MCDM)is proposed forﬁnding the interrelation among cryptographic properties.A combination of two MCDM methods namely Entropy and multi-objective optimization based on ratio analysis(MOORA)is applied for the best s-box selection.A robust substitution box is selected for secure communications in cryptography by using the combination of DEMETAL selection criteria,entro-py weight assigning,and MOORA ranking *** combination of these three methods provides a fast selection procedure for the secure confusion *** offered selection method can also be utilized for the choice of the best cryptosystem with highly secure properties and resistive against all possible linear and differential attacks in the cryptanalysis.

Liquefied natural gas(LNG) is the most economical way of transporting natural gas(NG) over long distances. Liquefaction of NG using vapor compression refrigeration system requires high operating and capital cost. Due to lack of systematic design methods for multistage refrigeration cycles, conventional approaches to determine optimal cycle are largely trial-and-error. In this paper a novel mixed integer non-linear programming(MINLP)model is introduced to select optimal synthesis of refrigeration systems to reduce both operating and capital costs of an LNG plant. Better conceptual understanding of design improvement is illustrated on composite curve(CC) and exergetic grand composite curve(EGCC) of pinch analysis diagrams. In this method a superstructure representation of complex refrigeration system is developed to select and optimize key decision variables in refrigeration cycles(i.e. partition temperature, compression configuration, refrigeration features, refrigerant flow rate and economic trade-off). Based on this method a program(LNG-Pro) is developed which integrates VBA,Refprop and Excel MINLP solver to automate the methodology. Design procedure is applied on a sample LNG plant to illustrate advantages of using this method which shows a 3.3% reduction in total shaft work consumption.

AIM:To determine the clinical,epidemiological and phenotypic characteristics of ulcerative colitis(UC)in saudi Arabia by studying the largest cohort of Arab UC ***:Data from UC patients attending gastroenterology clinics in four tertiary care centers in three cities between september 2009 and september 2013were entered into a validated web-based registry,inflammatory bowel disease information system(IBDIs).The IBDIs database covers numerous aspects of inflammatory bowel *** characteristics,disease phenotype and behavior,age at diagnosis,course of the disease,and extraintestinal manifestations were ***:Among 394 UC patients,males comprised51.0%and females 49.0%.According to the Montréal classification of age,the major chunk of our patients belonged to the A2 category for age of diagnosis at17-40 years(68.4%),while 24.2%belonged to the A3category for age of diagnosis at>40 *** to the same classification,a majority of patients had extensive UC(42.7%),35.3%had left-sided colitis and29.2%had only ***,51.3%were in remission,16.6%had mild UC,23.4%had moderate UC and 8.6%had severe *** relapse occurred in17.4%patients,infrequent relapse in 77%and 4.8%had chronic disease.A majority(85.2%)of patients was steroid *** regard to extraintestinal manifestations,arthritis was present in 16.4%,osteopenia in 31.4%,osteoporosis in 17.1%and cutaneous involvement in 7.0%.CONCLUsION:The majority of UC cases were young people(17-40 years),with a male *** the disease course was found to be similar to that reported in Western countries,more similarities were found with Asian countries with regards to the extent of the disease and response to steroid therapy.

In this study,a polyamide with methine-thiophene and pyrimidine linkages(poly(pyrimidine-thiophene-amide)(PPTA))was ***,magnetic PPTA(M-PPTA)was synthesized using the hydrothermal *** products were analyzed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-sEM),and a vibrating-sample magnetometer(VsM).The nanocomposite exhibits a saturation magnetization of 50.44 emu/g recorded by VsM *** ability of M-PPTA to bind dysprosium(Dy^(3+)),terbium(Tb^(3+)),and neodymium(Nd^(3+))was *** 0.15 g of M-PPTA to test the adsorption of the rare earth elements(50 mg/L)at pH=5.5,the percentage of adsorption for Dy^(3+),Tb^(3+),and Nd^(3+)is 98.41%,97.48%and 95.67%,***-second-order(PsO)significantly fits the adsorption kinetic *** equation was used to describe the adsorption equilibrium data of Dy^(3+)and Tb^(3+),while Langmuir model was used to simulate Nd^(3+)adsorption *** the temperature leads to an increase in the performance of M-PPTA,and an endothermic adsorption process was confirmed by the positive values ofΔ*** four adsorption-desorption cycles,the efficiency of adsorption of Dy^(3+),Tb^(3+),and Nd^(3+)by M-PPTA is88.75%,86.37%,and 84.64%,*** antagonism effect is observed for the adsorption of the individual ions in a ternary solution.

Accurate link quality estimation is a fundamental building block in quality aware multi hop routing. In an inherently lossy, unreliable and dynamic medium such as wireless, the task of accurate estimation becomes very challenging. Over the years ETX has been widely used as a reliable link quality estimation metric. However, more recently it has been established that under heavy traffic loads ETX performance gets significantly worse. We examine the ETX metric＇s behavior in detail with respect to the MAC layer and UDP data; and identify the causes of its unreliability. Motivated by the observations made in our analysis, we present the design and implementation of our link quality measurement metric xDDR - a variation of ETX. This article extends xDDR to support network mobility. Our experiments show that xDDR substantially outperforms minimum hop count, ETX and HETX in terms of end-to-end packet delivery ratio in static as well as mobile scenarios.

Two new dimeric naphthoquinones, 5′,8′-dihydroxy-6,6′-dimethyl-7,3′-binaphthyl-1,4,1′,4′-tetraone(1; Di-naphthodiospyrol D) and 5′,8′-dihydroxy-5,8-dimethoxy-6,6′-dimethyl-7,3′-binaphthyl-1,4,1′,4′-tetraone(2; Di-naphthodiospyrol E), along with known naphthoquinones diospyrin(3) and 8-hydroxy diospyrin(4) were isolated from the chloroform fraction of extract of Diospyros lotus roots. Their structures were elucidated by advanced spectroscopic analyses, including HsQC, HMBC, NOEsY, and J-resolved NMR experiments. The fractions and compounds 1-4 were evaluated for urease activity and phosphodiesterase-Ⅰ, carbonic anhydrase-Ⅱ and α-chymotrypsin enzyme inhibitory activities. Compounds 1 and 2 and their corresponding fractions showed significant and selective inhibitory effects on urease activities. The IC_(50) values of 1 and 2 were 260.4 ± 6.37 and 381.4 ± 4.80 μmol·L-1, respectively, using thiourea(IC_(50) = 21 ± 0.11 μmol·L^(-1)) as the standard inhibitor. This was the first report demonstrating that the naphthoquinones class showed urease inhibition.

Identification of resistant pharmaceuticals in ozonation using QsAR modeling and their fate in electro-peroxone process

The abatements of 89 pharmaceuticals in secondary effluent by ozonation and the electro-peroxone(E-peroxone)process were *** on the results,a quantitative structure-activity relationship(QsAR)model was developed to explore relationship between chemical structure of pharmaceuticals and their oxidation rates by *** orthogonal projection to latent structure(OPLs)method was used to identify relevant chemical descriptors of the pharmaceuticals,from large number of descriptors,for model *** resulting QsAR model,based on 44 molecular descriptors related to the ozone reactivity of the pharmaceuticals,showed high goodness of fit(R^(2)=0.963)and predictive power(Q^(2)=0.84).After validation,the model was used to predict second-order rate constants of 491 pharmaceuticals of special concern(k_(O_(3)))including the 89 studied *** predicted k_(O_(3))values and experimentally determined pseudo-first order rate constants of the pharmaceuticals’abatement during ozonation(k_(OZ))and the E-peroxone process(k_(EP))were then used to assess effects of switching from ozonation to the E-peroxone process on removal of these *** results indicate that the E-peroxone process could accelerate the abatement of pharmaceuticals with relatively low ozone reactivity(k_(O_(3))s^(−1))than ozonation(3–10 min versus 5–20 min).The validated QsAR model predicted 66 pharmaceuticals to be highly O_(3)-*** developed QsAR model may be used to estimate the ozone reactivity of pharmaceuticals of diverse chemistry and thus predict their fate in ozone-based processes.
