With increasing incidence of diabetes, use of diabetes sp.cific nutrition sup.lements (DSNS) is common for better management of the disease. To study effect of 12-week DSNS sup.lementation on glycemic markers, anthrop.metry, lip.d p.ofile, SCFAs, and gut microbiome in individuals with diabetes. Markers studied were glycemic [Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG), p.st p.andial Glucose (p.G), HbA1c, Incremental Area under curve (iAUC), Mean Amp.itude of Glycemic Excursions (MAGE), Time in/above Range (TIR/TAR)], anthrop.metry [weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference (WC)], lip.d p.ofile, diet and gut health [p.asma short chain fatty acids (SCFAs)]. N = 210 adults were randomized to receive either DSNS with standard care (DSNS + SC;n = 105) or standard care alone (SC alone;n = 105). After 12 weeks, significant differences between DSNS + SC versus SC alone was observed in FBG [−3 ± 6 vs 14 ± 6 mg/dl;p.= 0.03], p.G [−35 ± 9 vs −3 ± 9 mg/dl;p.= 0.01], weight [−0.6 ± 0.1 vs 0.2 ± 0.1 kg;p.= 0.0001], BMI [−0.3 ± 0.1 vs 0.1 ± 0.1 kg/m2;p.= 0.0001] and WC [−0.3 ± 0.2 vs 0.2 ± 0.2 cm;p.= 0.01]. HbA1C and low-density lip.p.otein (LDL) were significantly reduced in DSNS + SC [−0.2 ± 0.9;p.= 0.04 and −5 mg/dl;p.= 0.03] resp.ctively with no change in control. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) rep.rted significant differences between DSNS + SC versus SC alone for mean glucose [−12 ± 65 vs 28 ± 93 mg/dl;p.p.= 0.04], TAR 250 [−3 ± 27 vs 9 ± 38 mg/dl;p.= 0.05], iAUC [−192 (1.1) vs −48 (1.1) mg/dl;p.= 0.03]. MAGE was significantly reduced for both DSNS + SC (−19 ± 67;p.p.= 0.04), with reduction being more p.onounced for DSNS + SC. The alkylation of toluene with methanol to selective formation of p.xylene has been systematically studied. ZSM-12 （MTW）/ZSM-5 co-crystalline zeolite in 40：60 p.op.rtions have been synthesized by the same molar gel comp.sition, but at different temp.ratures and p.riods than that of ZSM-12 and ZSM-5, sep.rately. All the p.ep.red samp.es are characterized by XRD, SEM, BET, and XRF. The activity of toluene alkylation was investigated with a mixture of toluene and methanol as a feed over the ZSM-12, ZSM-12/ZSM-5 co-crystalline, ZSM-5, and p.ysical mixture of ZSM-12/ZSM-5. From characterization, it is observed that the ZSM-12/ZSM-5 co-crystalline material is different from that of ZSM-12, ZSM-5, and their p.ysical mixture. Further, the ZSM-12/ZSM-5 co-crystalline zeolite p.oduces the highest content of xylene and has better selectivity for p.xylene than ZSM-12, ZSM-5, and their p.ysical mixture.

In this p.p.r, we study the age and sp.tial distributions of Cep.eids in the Small Magellanic Cloud （SMC） as a function of their ages using data from the OGLE III p.otometric catalogue. A p.riod - age relation derived for Classical Cep.eids in the Large Magellanic Cloud （LMC） has been used to find the ages of Cep.eids. The age distribution of the SMC Classical Cep.eids is found to have a p.ak at log（Age）： 8.40 ± 0.10 which suggests that a major star formation event might have occurred in the SMC about 250 4- 50 Myr ago. It is believed that this star forming burst had been triggered by close interactions of the SMC with the LMC and/or the Milky Way. A comp.rison of the observed sp.tial distributions of the Cep.eids and op.n star clusters has also been carried out to study the star formation scenario in the SMC.

In this communication, we rep.rt the results of the studies on electrical p.op.rties of Zn0.95Cr0.05O nanop.rticles synthesized using sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscop. （TEM） measurements were p.rformed for the structural and microstructural behaviors of the nanop.rticles. Rietveld analysis was carried out to confirm the single p.asic nature. High resolution TEM （HRTEM） confirms the nanoscale nature and p.lycrystalline orientations in the samp.es. Dielectric resp.nse has been understood in the context of universal dielectric resp.nse （UDR） model along with the Koop.s theory and Maxwell - Wagner （M-W） mechanism. Variation in ac conductivity with frequency has been discussed in detail in terms of p.wer law fits. Results of the imp.dance measurements have been exp.ained on the basis of crystal cores and crystal boundary density. Cole - cole behavior has been studied for the imp.dance data. For p.tential ap.lication of nanop.rticles, average normalized change （ANC） in imp.dance has been estimated and discussed in the light of size effects and oxygen vacancies.

We rep.rt high-temp.rature thermodynamics for fcc silver by combining ab initio p.onon dynamics to emp.rical quadratic temp.rature-dep.ndent term for anharmonic p.rt of Helmholtz free energy. The electronic free energy is added through an interp.lation scheme, which connects ambient condition free electron gas model to Thomas-Fermi *** p.esent study shows good agreement with exp.rimental and rep.rted findings for several thermal p.op.rties, and the discrep.ncy observed in some caloric p.op.rties is addressed. The decreases in the p.oduct of volume thermal exp.nsion coefficient and isothermal bulk modulus and in the constant volume anharmonic lattice sp.cific heat at high temp.rature are the clear evidences of p.op.r account of anharmonicity. The p.esent study also reveals that T-2-dep.ndent anharmonic free energy is sufficient for correct evaluation of thermal p.essure and conventional Grüneisen p.rameter. We observe that the intrinsic p.onon anharmonicity starts dominating above characteristic temp.rature, which is attributed to higher order anharmonicity and can be related to higher order p.tential derivatives. We conclude that the uncorrelated and largeamp.itude lattice vibrations at high temp.rature raise dominating intrinsic thermal stress mechanism, which surp.sses the p.onon-anharmonism and requires future consideration.

The northwestern Himalaya harbors high levels of biodiversity due to its unique top.grap.y, climatic conditions and heterogeneity. Forest fragmentation is one of the major threats causing a decline in biodiversity in the Himalayan region. We assesses forest fragmentation and changes in land use land cover（LULC） p.tterns using multi-temp.ral satellite data over a time sp.n of four decades（1976–2013）. Fragmentation analysis using the Landscap. Fragmentation Tool（LFT） reveals a decrease in core and edge areas by 14 and 2.3 %, resp.ctively; while an increase in non-forest, p.tch area and p.rforation area by 2.1, 0.4, and 14 %, resp.ctively. The LULC dynamics show that the areas under dense forest and scrub forest have decreased by 2.8 % and 1.9 %, resp.ctively; and there is an increase in op.n forest, crop.land and fallow land area by 2.6, 1.7 and 2.1 %, resp.ctively. The quantification of landscap. heterogeneity is undertaken with the help.of landscap. metrics comp.ted using FRAGSTATS at class and landscap. level, showing signs of increased fragmentation. Our study p.ovides baseline database that can sup.ort the future biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management initiatives.
