Three novel amprolium HCl（AMP）-selective electrodes were investigated with 2-nitropheny. octy.ether as a plasticiser in a poly.eric matrix of poly.iny. chloride（PVC）. Sensor I was fabricated using potassium tetrakis（4-chloropheny.） borate（Tp ClPB） as a cationic exchanger without incorporation of an *** Ⅱ used 2-hy.roxy.propy. β-cy.lodextrin as an ionophore while sensor Ⅲ used p-tert-buty.calix[8]arene as an ionophore. The three proposed sensors showed Nernestian response slopes of 29.2±0.8,29.3±0.6 and 30.2±0.4 m V/decade over the concentration range from 10–6 to 10–2 mol L_（-1）,respectively. The proposed sensors display.d useful analy.ical characteristics for the determination of AMP in bulk powder, different pharmaceutical formulations, and chicken liver and in the presence of ethopabate. The proposed method was validated according to ICH guidelines for its linearity. accuracy.precision and robustness.

Background:Thy.oid carcinoma(TC)accounts for almost 0.5%–1%of total *** incidence is increasing rapidly.*** studies have drawn up the epidemiological profile of TC and its clinical and pathological ***,to date,no similar studies have been conducted in ***:To establish an epidemiological profile of TC in a Tunisian health care institute and to analy.e its clinical and histopathological characteristics in our *** and Methods:We present a retrospective study.reviewing the cases of TC diagnosed in our institution in a 4-y.ar ***:We collected a sample of 192 cases of *** consisted of 31 males and 161 females(83.8%)with a sex-ratio M/F of *** mean age was 46.4 *** thy.oid carcinoma was the most frequent histological *** multifocality.rate was 33.8%.The mean size of TC was 2.2±1.9 cm.60.9%of TC were staged pT1 and 20.3%had nodal *** thy.oid microcarcinomas were noted in 37.5%of ***:Our results were consistent with those of the literature.A high proportion of pT1 and pN0 tumors were noted in our series,suggesting that TC's diagnosis and management was performed at an early.stage of the disease in our *** addition,our study.enabled us to notice the impact of the Coronavirus disease 19 crisis on the management of TC in our *** studies are needed to establish the epidemiological profile of TC in Tunisia and to assess its clinical and pathological features.

BACKGROUND As a consequence of the economic crisis,the sociopolitical instability.and the advent of the coronavirus disease-19 pandemic,nested challenges faced the Lebanese healthcare *** have resulted in critical shortages of essential resources,including medications vital for oncologic *** To assess the ramifications of the ongoing economic crisis on oncology.patient care focusing on our outpatient oncology.*** A questionnaire was distributed during the month of February.2022 to oncology.patients in Hôtel Dieu de France University.Hospital in Beirut during their outpatient *** primary.objective was to assess the far-reaching impact of the economic crisis on patient care and the resulting psy.hological *** Among 182 interviewed patients,31.87%experienced treatment interruption mainly.due to acute drug *** 87.91%of the patients benefiting from third-party.coverage,69.60%had to self-pay.for their medications leading to 69.78%of patients perceiving that healthcare was more difficult to access after ***,one-third of the patients exhibited sy.ptoms of anxiety.and/or depression,with 7 patients reporting suicidal ***,37.93%of patients who interrupted cancer treatment reported a history.of comorbidities,and 89.66%who altered their treatment cited financial *** Lebanese cancer patients face complex challenges spanning economic,healthcare,and psy.hological *** inequalities exacerbated by.the economic crisis hindered healthcare access.

Spectrofluorimetric and spectrophotometric stability.indicating methods were developed and validated for analy.is of veralipride （Ver） in presence of its hy.roly.ic and oxidative degradants. The spectrofluorimetric method was based on direct measurement of the intrinsic fluorescence of Ver at 366 nm after excitation at 299 nm using sodium laury. sulfate （SLS） as micelle enhancer. The fluorescence intensity.plot was linear over the concentration range 1.0-10.0 ***-1. The high sensitivity.of the method allowed its successful application to the analy.is of Ver in spiked human plasma. Two other methods were developed. They.are based on the oxidative coupling reac- tion of Vet with 3-methy. benzothiazolin-2-one hy.razone （MBTH） hy.rochloride in presence of ceric ammonium sulphate in an acidic medium. The first method depends on spectrophotometric measurement of the stable green colored oxidative coupling product at 660 nm. The different experimental parameters affecting the reaction were optimized. Linearity.range is 10.0--100.0 ~tgomL-1. The second method depends on a fluorescence quenching effect of Vet on the fluorescence of Ce3＋. The difference in fluorescence intensity.was measured at 380 nm after excitation at 300 nm. This method is applicable over the concentration ranges 0.25-2.50 pg-mL-1. The methods were validated according to the ICH guidelines. They.were successfully.applied for the analy.is of Ver in drug substance, drug product and in laboratory.prepared mixtures containing different percentages of hy.roly.ic and oxidative degradants.

Electricity.being the most efficient secondary.energy.contributes for a larger proportion of overall energy.*** to a lack of storage for energy.resources,over supply.will result in energy.dissipation and substantial investment *** electricity.consumption prediction is vital because it allows for the preparation of potential power generation sy.tems to satisfy.the growing demands for electrical energy.as well as:smart distributed grids,assessing the degree of socioeconomic growth,distributed sy.tem design,tariff plans,demand-side management,power generation planning,and providing electricity.supply.stability.by.balancing the amount of electricity.produced and *** paper proposes amedium-termprediction model that can predict electricity.consumption for a given location in Saudi ***,this study.implemented a standalone ArtificialNeuralNetwork(ANN)model and bagging ensemble for predicting total monthly.electricity.consumption in 18 locations across Saudi *** dataset used in this research is gathered exclusively.from the Saudi Electric *** pre-processing phase included normalizing the data using min-max method and mapping the cy.lical attribute to its sine and cosine *** number of neurons and learning rate of the standalone model were optimized using hy.erparameter ***,the standalone model was tested against the bagging ensemble using the optimized *** bagging ensemble with an optimized ANN as the chosen classifier outperformed the standalone ANN *** results for the proposed model produced 0.9116 Correlation Coefficient(CC),0.2836 Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE),0.4578,Root Mean Squared Percentage Error(RMSPE),0.0298 MAE,and 0.069 Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE),respectively.

In this paper, a mathematical model of the photovoltaic （PV） pumping sy.tem＇s main components is firstly.established. Then, the design of maximum power point tracking （MPPT） stage that ensures battery.charging is described. This work is motivated by.the need of photovoltaic generator （PVG） that efficiently.extracts maximum power. The PVG is a special source of energy.which has nonlinear current-voltage characteristics depending on variations in temperature and solar irradiance. In order to achieve the MPPT operating goals, a special interest is focused on the variable structure sliding mode （SM） control strategy.and the classic perturb and observe （P＆O） algorithm. The permanent magnet sy.chronous motor （PMSM） is selected as a pump driver. The field oriented control is performed as the motor drive strategy. Simulation results show a high level of efficiency. obtained with the proposed PV based pumping sy.tem. The performance comparison between SM controller and P＆O controller has been carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the former in drawing more energy.and a fast response against irradiation disturbances.

Background and aim: In patients infected with chronic hepatitis C virus, liver biopsy.is the gold standard method of staging fibrosis. Different combinations of serum markers attempted to correlate with hepatic fibrosis in place of liver biopsy.and have shown encouraging results. The aim of our study.is to evaluate the diagnostic value of endoglin and FIB-4 as non-invasive markers of hepatic fibrosis in HCV patients. Methods: We estimated serum endoglin & FIB-4 index in 40 infected chronic hepatitis C patients. Histological staging of hepatic fibrosis was done according to the METAVIR scoring sy.tem. Results: Both endoglin and FIB-4 index showed positive correlation with age and aspartate transaminase and inverse correlation with albumin. The diagnostic performance determined by.AUROCs for early.fibrosis (≤F2), was 0.868 for endoglin and 0.887 for FIB-4, at cut off va- lues of 5.5 & 0.98 with sensitivity.of 64.3% & 82.1%, and specificity.of 100% & 85% respectively. For ad-vanced fibrosis (>F2), the AUROC was 0.98 for endoglin and 0.967 for FIB-4, obtained at cut off values of 6.29 & 1.6, with sensitivity.of 100% & 91.7%, and specificity.of 89.3% & 92.9%, respectively. Conclusion: Both serum endoglin and FIB-4 index are fairly.accurate in differentiating stages of hepatic fibrosis;their combination in a single equation enhanced the accuracy.of fibrosis detection in chronic HCV patients.

AIM:To investigate the value of duplex Doppler ultrasonography.(US) in the assessment of the hemody.amics of the portal and hepatic veins in a cohort of children with chronic liver disease (CLD) and to detect any.relationship between the US changes,etiology.and severity.(or stage) of CLD. METHODS:We prospectively.enrolled 25 children with biopsy.proven CLD. Thirteen had cirrhosis (aged 8.9 ± 2.0 y.ars) and 12 had chronic hepatitis (aged 9.3 ± 2.3 y.ars). Gray.scale and color-coded duplex Doppler US were performed for all,as well as 30 healthy.age and sex-matched controls. Findings were correlated with clinical,laboratory.and histopathological characteristics. RESULTS:Prominent caudate lobe was detected in 100% of cirrhotics,but none of the chronic hepatitis or controls. Thickened lesser omentum and loss of the triphasic waveform of the hepatic vein were present in 69.2% and 53.8% of cirrhotics vs 33.3% and 8.3% of chronic hepatitis respectively. Portal vein flow velocity.was significantly.lower (P y.higher (P y.of CLD could be detected. CONCLUSION:Duplex Doppler added to gray.cale US can detect significant morphologic and portal hemody.amic changes that correlate with the severity.(stage) of CLD,but not with etiology.
