According to the leading national classification of the climate of China, given by B. Huang (revised version 1986), Hainan falls into the tropical climatic realm, subdivided into a "peripheral tropical" type for the northern part and a "middle tropical" type for the southern part of the island. While all-year-round frost-free conditions define the tropics in general, the 20t-isotherm for the coldest month represents the boundary between the peripheral tropical and middle tropical types. Compared to the tropical climate in general, Hainan experiences distinctly lower winter temperatures which thus result in a larger annual temperature variation. In terms of precipitation, Hainan records a long rainy season through the southwest monsoon and typhoon seasons from May until October while winter precipitation is comparably lower. Representing two agroclimatic hazards, strong typhoon winds and cold waves seriously affect Hainan. Although to be defined as "marginal tropica-1", the climatic conditions on Hainan

The Suizhou L6 chondrite contains a few very thin shock melt veins of 0.02-0.09 mm in width. In spite of small width of the veins, shock-induced high-pressure phases, such as coarse-grained NaAlSi3O8-hollandite, ringwoodite, majorite and fine-grained matrix majorite-pyropess have been discovered in these veins. NaAlSi3O8-hollandite, the high-pressure phase of plagioclase, in Suizhou shock veins occurs as a single phase mineral, no silicate glassy phase, such as albitic glass, was incorporated with it. The presence of above-mentioned high-pressure phases constrains the high pressure (up to 23-24 GPa) and high temperature (up to 1900-2000℃) regime in Suizhou shock veins, and indicates that the duration of high-pressure regime in the veins should be long enough (a few seconds) for phase transformation and crystallization of minerals under pressure. Collaborating with Young Adults Diagnosed with Schizophrenia:A Participatory Design Study to Shape the Healthcare System

Introduction: Disengagement from mental health services in young adults with schizophrenia has been associated with dissatisfaction and unmet needs. Striving to improve engagement, we invited service users recently diagnosed with schizophrenia to be co-designers of a smartphone technology that will be responsive to their needs. Aim: This paper reports the first phase of a three-phased participatory design process. The objective was to identify needs of support in young adults recently diagnosed with schizophrenia and to generate ideas of how the needs could be accommodated using smartphone technology. Methods: Participatory design guided the research process and a qualitative approach was used to generate and analyse the data. Data were generated by means of participant observations (n = 45 hours) and interviews (n = 6) with young adults from a first episode psychosis program in Denmark. Findings: Low levels of knowledge and high levels of uncertainties are characteristic of young adults recently diagnosed with schizophrenia, bringing about a vast need of support in order for them to gain power over their new life situation. Our study suggests that the smartphone may be used to foster empowerment by guiding the young adult’s actions in situ, providing comprehensive and easily understood information on the go, allowing for recovery tracking, and notification of mental health changes, providing medication overview and giving easy access to healthcare providers. Conclusion: Young adults recently diagnosed with schizophrenia require comprehensive support in order to become empowered to confidently manage their new life situation. The smartphone holds this potential by offering flexible collaboration and timely access to self-management

Precipitation is the major driver of ecosystem functions and processes in semiarid and arid regions. In such water- limited ecosystems, pulsed water inputs directly control the belowground processes through a series of soil drying and rewetting cycles. To investigate the effects of sporadic addition of water on soil CO 2 efflux, an artificial precipitation event (3 mm) was applied to a desert shrub ecosystem in the Mu Us Sand Land of the Ordos Plateau in China. Soil respiration rate increased 2.8-4.1 times immediately after adding water in the field, and then it returned to background level within 48 h. During the experiment, soil CO 2 production was between 2 047.0 and 7 383.0 mg m -2 . In the shrubland, soil respiration responses showed spatial variations, having stronger pulse effects beneath the shrubs than in the interplant spaces. The spatial variation of the soil respiration responses was closely related with the heterogeneity of soil substrate availability. Apart from precipitation, soil organic carbon and total nitrogen pool were also identified as determinants of soil CO2 loss in desert ecosystems.

The segmented block copoly(ether ester)s were swollen by tetrahydrofuran (THF) at 60℃and formedfibers by gel-drawing. The morphology and properties of these fibers were investigated by optical and electron microscopes, X-ray diffraction, DSC and an Instron test machine. The band structure morphology was observed in the gel-drawing fibers. The molecular chains were highly oriented as proved by X-ray diffraction data. The results indicated that the gel-drawing fibers have much better mechanical properties than those obtained otherwise. The tensile strength and elastic modulus were found to be 280 MPa and 802 MPa, repsectively. The mechanism of the gel-drawlng process was also discussed.

The determination of trace rhenium(Ⅶ)by differential pulse polarography in the system of H_2SO_4-(NH_2OH)_2·H_2SO_4-TeO_4^(2-) is markedly improved by the addition of Nitron,which is adsorbed on the surface of mercury *** limit of detection is down to 2×10^(-10) *** adsorptive peak potential is -0.80V(***).In the ranges of 5×10^(-10)-10^(-8),1×10^(-8)-10^(-7) and 1× 10^(-7)-10^(-6)M,there are good linear relationships between the peak current increment and the concentration,of which the relative standard deviations are 9.5,6.6,1.8% respectively with the correlation coefficients of linear regression of 0.995—*** results relating to this polarographic wave show that it is an adsorption-catalytic *** mechanism of the electrode reaction is dis- cussed.
