Objective: To elucidate the molecular mechanisms of the potent anti-obesity effect of Moringa oleifera Lam.(M. oleifera) ethanolic extract and to clarify the link between these mechanisms and the associated metabolic and vascular risks in the experimental model of visceral ***: M. oleifera ethanolic extract was orally administered at 600 mg/kg body weight in obese female rats daily for 12 weeks. At the end of treatment, body weight was determined, and the atherogenic index, coronary artery index, glucose level, insulin resistance status, liver and kidney functions were assessed. Also, the m RNA of leptin, adiponectin and resistin in visceral adipose tissue was determined by quantitative real ***: The results showed that M. oleifera extract down-regulated m RNA expression of leptin and resistin, while it up-regulated adiponectin gene expression in obese rats relative to untreated obese control counterparts. This amelioration of genes expression was paralleled by a reduction in body weight and improvement of the atherogenic index and coronary artery index, as well as glucose level and insulin resistance value without adverse effects on liver or kidney functions, versus the untreated obese control ***: It is reasonable to assume that the anti-obesity, anti-atherogenic and antidiabetic properties of M. oleifera are mechanistically achieved via working directly on the adipokines of the visceral adipose tissue. Therefore, M. oleifera may be a good therapeutic candidate for the symptoms of metabolic syndrome.

The beet armyworm(BAW),Spodoptera exigua(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)is a highly destructive pest of vegetables and field *** of beet armyworm primarily relies on synthetic pesticides,which is threatening the beneficial community and *** importantly,the BAW developed resistance to synthetic pesticides with making it difficult to ***,alternative and environment-friendly pest management tactics are urgently *** use of pesticidal plant extracts provides an effective way for a sustainable pest management *** evaluate the use of pesticidal plant extracts against BAW,we selected six plant species(Lantana camara,Aloe vera,Azadirachta indica,Cymbopogon citratus,Nicotiana tabacum,and Ocimum basilicum)for initial screening *** out of six plant species such as ***,***,*** and *** showed promising mortality of more than 50%.Therefore,we selected these four plant extracts for the subsequent *** contact bioassay,*** showed high mortality 66.63%,followed by the *** 53.33%,at 10%w/v ***,*** showed the highest mortality rate,66%at 10%w/v concentration,followed by the *** 46%through feeding ***,the feeding deterrence assay showed that *** had a high antifeedant index(−50)followed by ***(−39),and ***(−28).In living plant assay,the *** extract showed a low mean damage score 3.6 on living cotton plant followed by *** 4.5 and *** ***,extracts of three plant species provided promising results against the BAW,which can minimize the use of synthetic chemicals,particularly for small landholding *** studies are also required to evaluate the effects of these plant extract against BAW on cotton plants under field conditions to optimize the further use.

Protracted Adjuvant Temozolomide in Glioblastoma Multiforme

Purpose: Radiotherapy with concurrent temozolomide (TMZ), followed by 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ, is the standard of care for newly diagnosed Glioblastoma Mulltiforme (GBM). However tumor progression is the role with median survival of almost 14 months. With lack of effective second line chemotherapy, many physicians and some guidelines advocate prolonged use of adjuvant TMZ more than 6 months. We conduct this study to test the efficacy of protracted adjuvant conventional dose TMZ over the standard 6 doses of adjuvant TMZ. Material and Methods: This phase II trial enrolled patients newly diagnosed as GBM, older than age 18 years, with a Karnofsky performance score (KPS) of ≥60, Neurological Performance Scale (NPS) of ≤3. Patients were randomly assigned to the standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) followed by 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ or the same treatment with more than 6 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy extended as long as the patient in good performance, with no unacceptable toxicity, no signs of disease progression. The primary end point was OS. Results: A total of 59 patients were recruited in the study and were randomized in two arms. 29 patients joined arm 1 aiming at receiving CCRT followed by adjuvant 6 cycles TMZ (6 cycles arm) and 30 joined arm 2 aiming at receiving the same treatment with more than 6 cycles of TMZ (>6 cycles). 16 patients managed to complete the adjuvant 6 cycles in arm 1. 19 patients in arm 2, completed the 6 cycles with additive more doses with a median of 11 cycles (range: 8 - 23 cycles). Median PFS was 12.1 months for (6 cycles) arm, and 18.8 months for (>6 cycles) arm, HR 0.88 (95% CI: 1.185 - 4.901) (P 0.015);the overall survival for (6 cycles) arm was 18.1 months, versus 24.1 months, HR 0.70 (95% CI: 1.007 - 4.037) (P 0.048). No significant added toxicity was notice and the 4 weekly TMZ was well tolerated. Medical treatment of inflammatory punctual stenosis monitored by anterior segment optical coherence tomography

AIM:To evaluate the role of medical treatment in the management of inflammatory punctum stenosis guided by spectral domain anterior segment optical coherence tomography(OCT).METHODS:This prospective study included 60 patients complaining of epiphora due to inflammatory punctual *** were divided into two groups:Group A(30 patients)treated with a combination of preservative free hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 3.35 mg/m L eye drops,and preservative free artificial tears based on sodium hyaluronate,polyethylene and propylene Glycol;Group B(30 patients)treated with the same preservative free artificial tears *** normal subjects were included for comparison of pre-treatment anatomical *** starting treatment,all patients underwent anterior segment assessment including slit lamp examination,measurement of intraocular pressure(IOP),fluorescein dye disappearance test,and measurement of the outer punctum diameter(OPD)by Spectral domain anterior segment *** assessments were repeated at each follow up done at 1 and 3 mo later,together with subjective evaluation of patient’s satisfaction of the treatment outcome by simple rating ***:Punctual diameter increased significantly with treatment in both groups(P<0.0001);although the widening was more in Group A as compared to group B(16.2%vs 8%of the original punctual size,mean difference of 28.933μm,P=0.0076).Subjective satisfaction with treatment outcome was also better in group A(70%vs 40%,Chi-square P=0.0397).CONCLUSION:A combination of preservative free steroid eye drops and artificial tears causes significant widening of inflammed stenotic punctae and improvement of the associated epiphora.

From the beginning,the process of research and its publication is an ever-growing phenomenon and with the emergence of web technologies,its growth rate is *** a rough estimate,more than thirty thousand research journals have been issuing around four million papers annually on *** engines,indexing services,and digital libraries have been searching for such publications over the ***,getting the most relevant articles against the user requests is yet a *** is mainly because the articles are not appropriately indexed based on the hierarchies of granular subject *** overcome this issue,researchers are striving to investigate new techniques for the classification of the research articles especially,when the complete article text is not available(a case of nonopen access articles).The proposed study aims to investigate the multilabel classification over the available metadata in the best possible way and to assess,“to what extent metadata-based features can perform in contrast to content-based approaches.”In this regard,novel techniques for investigating multilabel classification have been proposed,developed,and evaluated on metadata such as the Title and Keywords of the *** proposed technique has been assessed for two diverse datasets,namely,from the Journal of universal computer science(***)and the benchmark dataset comprises of the articles published by the Association for computing machinery(ACM).The proposed technique yields encouraging results in contrast to the state-ofthe-art techniques in the literature.

针对埃及尼罗河三角洲地区传统灌溉方式存在的水分利用效率低、产量低和农户增收困难等问题,通过田间试验探索该地区玉米种植适宜的灌溉施肥模式。大田试验于2012年和2013年在埃及苏伊士运河大学试验基地进行,共设置滴灌（D）、涌泉细流沟灌（B）、传统沟灌（F）3个灌溉方式和施无机肥（C）、液态有机肥（O）2个施肥种类,共6个处理。试验研究了水肥互作对玉米叶面积指数（LAI）、地上生物量（ADM）、产量构成要素、经济产量、水分利用效率（WUE）和经济效益的影响。结果表明：抽雄期以后,灌溉方式和施肥种类对玉米LAI和ADM的影响均有显著差异（P〈0.05）,其中OD处理的LAI和ADM均处最高水平。两种施肥条件下,D、B和F 3种灌溉方式对玉米产量和WUE的影响均表现为：B〉D〉F。不同灌水条件下,O处理比C处理玉米产量提高18.6%～24.4%,WUE提高18.7%～23.4%。CB处理玉米的年均净效益最高,达7 373元/hm2,但与CF处理差异不显著。CB处理（即涌泉细流沟灌技术与施无机肥结合）是埃及尼罗河三角洲玉米最佳种植模式。

基于物联网的雾培生菜根域降温系统开发及雾培试验

目前的雾化栽培系统采集作物根域环境参数需要花费大量的时间,并且采集过程要耗费大量的人力。根区温度是影响雾化栽培植物生长的最重要因素之一。因此,本研究的目的是开发基于物联网的雾培作物根区温湿度测控系统,用于获取雾化栽培系统内的温度和相对湿度数据,通过与Arduino板连接的冷却风扇,采用低成本高效的新型冷却技术自动冷却根部区域,使作物获得较优的根区温度环境。系统开发完成后的测试结果表明,该系统能够在Internet服务器上实时监控和记录数据,同时它还可以显示在智能手机应用程序上,同时可以excel表格形式把温度和湿度数据每周发送给个人电子邮件。当最大外部温度为38.1°C时,该系统能将根区温度控制在28.7-29.2°C之间,而传统的雾化栽培系统的平均温度在29.5-31.5°C之间波动。雾化栽培试验结果表明,本文开发的自动化冷却根系系统使生菜的生长速度明显增加,品质明显提高,N、P、K等无机养分对莴苣的吸收率分别提高了45.5%、66.6%、45%,新鲜体重、总叶绿素、抗坏血酸、总碳水化合物和总氨基酸分别比常规航空系统增加了131%、26.2%、41.9%、30.7%、6.2%。此外,抗氧化性(DPPH和FRAP试验)也有显著的增加。因此,我们的研究可能在未来智能雾化栽培中发挥重要作用,可以雾化栽培作物提供更合适的根区生长环境参数,并且可以大大减少人工。

In this article, we study the problem of predicting future records and order statistics (two-sample prediction) based on progressive type-II censored with random removals, where the number of units removed at each failure time has a discrete binomial distribution. We use the Bayes procedure to derive both point and interval bounds prediction. Bayesian point prediction under symmetric and symmetric loss functions is discussed. The maximum likelihood (ML) prediction intervals using “plug-in” procedure for future records and order statistics are derived. An example is discussed to illustrate the application of the results under this censoring scheme.
