3D hand pose and shape estimation from monocular RGB via efficient 2D cues

estimating 3D hand shape from a single-view RGB image is important for many ***,the diversity of hand shapes and postures,depth ambiguity,and occlusion may result in pose errors and noisy hand *** full use of 2D cues such as 2D pose can effectively improve the quality of 3D human hand shape *** this paper,we use 2D joint heatmaps to obtain spatial details for robust pose *** also introduce a depth-independent 2D mesh to avoid depth ambiguity in mesh regression for efficient hand-image *** method has four cascaded stages:2D cue extraction,pose feature encoding,initial reconstruction,and reconstruction ***,we first encode the image to determine semantic features during 2D cue extraction;this is also used to predict hand joints and for ***,during the pose feature encoding stage,we use a hand joints encoder to learn spatial information from the joint ***,a coarse 3D hand mesh and 2D mesh are obtained in the initial reconstruction step;a mesh squeeze-and-excitation block is used to fuse different hand features to enhance perception of 3D hand ***,a global mesh refinement stage learns non-local relations between vertices of the hand mesh from the predicted 2D mesh,to predict an offset hand mesh to fine-tune the reconstruction *** and qualitative results on the FreiHAND benchmark dataset demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Bearing capacity of circular footings on multi-layered sand-waste tire shreds reinforced with geogrids

The presence of waste tires poses an environmental challenge as they occupy a significant amount of land and are expensive to dispose in ***,reusing waste tires can address this issue when waste tires are used in geotechnical *** determine the viability of this approach,laboratoryscale tests were conducted to investigate load-bearing capacity of circular footings on sand-tire shred(sTs)mixtures with shredded waste tire contents of 5%e15%by weight and three different widths of *** investigation focused on analyzing the thickness of layers composed of sTs mixtures,the soil cap,and the impact of geogrids on bearing *** results indicate that a specific mixture of sand and tire shreds provides the highest footing-bearing *** addition,the optimal shred content and size were found to be 10%by weight and 2 cm×10 cm,***,for a given tire shred width,a particular length provides the largest bearing *** results agree well with that of previous research conducted by the first author and his colleagues in direct shear and California bearing ratio(CBR)*** primary finding of this research is that the use of two-layered sTs mixtures reinforced by geogrids significantly enhances the bearing capacity.

Raindrop size Distributions in the Zhengzhou extreme Rainfall event on 20 July 2021:Temporal-spatial Variability and Implications for Radar QPe

In this study,a regional Parsivel OTT disdrometer network covering urban Zhengzhou and adjacent areas is employed to investigate the temporal-spatial variability of raindrop size distributions(DsDs)in the Zhengzhou extreme rainfall event on 20 July *** rain rates observed by disdrometers and rain gauges from six operational sites are in good agreement,despite significant site-to-site variations of 24-h accumulated rainfall ranging from 198.3 to 624.1 *** Parsivel OTT observations show prominent temporal-spatial variations of DsDs,and the most drastic change was registered at Zhengzhou station where the record-breaking hourly rainfall of 201.9 mm over 1500-1600 LsT(local standard time)was *** hourly rainfall is characterized by fairly high concentrations of large raindrops,and the mass-weighted raindrop diameter generally increases with the rain rate before reaching the equilibrium state of DsDs with the rain rate of about 50 mm h^(−1).Besides,polarimetric radar observations show the highest differential phase shift(K_(dp))and differential reflectivity(Z_(dr))near surface over Zhengzhou station from 1500 to 1600 *** light of the remarkable temporal-spatial variability of DsDs,a reflectivity-grouped fitting approach is proposed to optimize the reflectivity-rain rate(Z-R)parameterization for radar quantitative precipitation estimation(QPe),and the rain gauge measurements are used for *** results show an increase of mean bias ratio from 0.57 to 0.79 and a decrease of root-mean-square error from 23.69 to 18.36 for the rainfall intensity above 20.0 mm h^(−1),as compared with the fixed Z-R *** study reveals the drastic temporal-spatial variations of rain microphysics during the Zhengzhou extreme rainfall event and warrants the promise of using reflectivity-grouped fitting Z-R relationships for radar QPe of such events.

The ability to make accurate energy predictions while considering all related energy factors allows production plants,regulatory bodies,and governments to meet energy demand and assess the effects of energy-saving *** energy consumption falls within normal parameters,it will be possible to use the developed model to predict energy consumption and develop improvements and mitigating measures for energy *** objective of this model is to accurately predict energy consumption without data limitations and provide results that are easily *** proposed model is an implementation of the stacked Long short-Term Memory(LsTM)snapshot ensemble combined with the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)and *** and Berard’s Individual Household electric-Power Consumption(IHePC)dataset incorporated with weather data are used to analyse the model’s accuracy with predicting energy *** model is trained,and the results measured using Root Mean square error(RMse),Mean Absolute error(MAe),Mean Absolute Percentage error(MAPe),and coefficient of determination(R^(2))metrics are 0.020,0.013,0.017,and 0.999,*** stacked LsTM snapshot ensemble performs better than the compared models based on prediction accuracy and minimized *** results of this study show that prediction accuracy is high,and the model’s stability is high as *** model shows that high levels of accuracy prove accurate predictive ability,and together with high levels of stability,the model has good interpretability,which is not typically accounted for in ***,this study shows that it can be inferred.

In this study,we conducted a search for dark matter using a part of the data recorded by the CMs experiment during run-I of the LHC in 2012 with a center of mass energy of 8 TeV and an integrated luminosity of 11.6 fb−*** data were gathered from the CMs open *** matter,in the framework of the simplified model(mono-Z′),can be produced from proton-proton collisions in association with a new hypothetical gauge boson,Z′.Thus,the search was conducted in the dimuon plus large missing transverse momentum *** benchmark scenario of mono-Z′,which is known as light vector,was used for interpreting the CMs open *** evidence of dark matter was observed,and exclusion limits were set on the masses of dark matter and Z′at 95%confidence level.

GsT family genes in jujube actively respond to phytoplasma infection

Jujube witches’broom(JWB)caused by phytoplasma has a severely negative effect on multiple metabolisms in *** GsT gene family in plants participates in the regulation of a variety of biotic and abiotic *** study aims to identify and reveal the changes in the jujube GsT gene family in response to phytoplasma ***,70 ZjGsTs were identified in the jujube genome and divided into 8 *** them,the Tau-class,including 44 genes,was the *** analysis indicated that Tau-class genes were highly conserved among species,such as Arabidopsis,cotton,chickpea,and *** chromosome location analysis,37.1%of genes were clustered,and 8 of 9 gene clusters were composed of Tau class *** RT-PCR,qRT-PCR and enzyme activity detection,the results showed that the expression of half(20/40)of the tested ZjGsTs was inhibited by phytoplasma infection in field and tissue culture conditions,and GsT activity was also significantly *** the resistant and susceptible varieties under phytoplasma infection,ZjGsTU49-ZjGsTU54 in the cluster IV showed opposite expression patterns,which may be due to functional divergence during *** upregulated genes(ZjGsTU45,ZjGsTU49,ZjGsTU59,and ZjGsTU70)might be involved in the process of jujube against *** yeast two-hybrid results showed that all 6 Tauclass proteins tested could form homodimers or ***,the comprehensive analysis of the jujube GsT gene family revealed that ZjGsTs responded actively to phytoplasma ***,some screened genes(ZjGsTU24,ZjGsTU49-52,ZjGsTU70,and ZjDHAR10)will contribute to further functional studies of jujube-phytoplasma interactions.

electro-optic tuning in composite silicon photonics based on ferroionic 2D materials

Tunable optical materials are indispensable elements in modern optoelectronics,especially in integrated photonics circuits where precise control over the effective refractive index is essential for diverse ***-dimensional materials like transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)and graphene exhibit remarkable optical responses to external ***,achieving distinctive modulation across short-wave infrared(sWIR)regions while enabling precise phase control at low signal loss within a compact footprint remains an ongoing *** this work,we unveil the robust electro-refractive response of multilayer ferroionic two-dimensional CuCrP2s6(CCPs)in the near-infrared wavelength *** integrating CCPs into silicon photonics(siPh)microring resonators(MRR),we enhance lightmatter interaction and measurement sensitivity to minute phase and absorption *** show that electrically driven Cu ions can tune the effective refractive index on the order of 2.8×10−3 RIU(refractive index unit)while preserving extinction ratios and resonance ***,these devices exhibit low optical losses and excellent modulation efficiency of 0.25 *** with a consistent blue shift in the resonance wavelengths among all devices for either polarity of the applied *** results outperform earlier findings on phase shifters based on ***,our study demonstrates distinct variations in electro-optic tuning sensitivity when comparing transverse electric(Te)and transverse magnetic(TM)modes,revealing a polarization-dependent response that paves the way for diverse applications in light *** combined optoelectronic and ionotronic capabilities of two-terminal CCPs devices present extensive opportunities across several *** potential applications range from phased arrays and optical switching to their use in environmental sensing and metrology,optical imaging systems,and neuromorphic systems in light-sensitive artificial synapses.
