Effectiveness of biofertilizers foliar application on y.eld and quality.traits of flax(Linum usitatissimum L.)

Flax is considered to be one of the most significant dual-purpose crops for oil and fiber production in Egy.t and worldwide.Biofertilizers have a substantial impact on various metabolic processes,including increased photo-sy.thesis,endogenous hormone levels,ion absorption,nucleic acid sy.thesis,and protein sy.thesis.These factors collectively.contribute to the growth and development of plants.Therefore,this study.aims to investigate how three biofertilizers(Algae extract,CMS as a by.product of y.ast,and Metalosate multi minerals as amino acids)can enhance both the quantity.and quality.of flax seed y.eld under sandy.soil conditions.Two field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Station of National Research Centre in Nubaria District,Behira Governorate,Egy.t during two seasons(2021/2022)using a randomized complete block design(RCBD).The results revealed significant differences among all tested biofertilizers in terms of various characteristics studied in flax.Foliar application of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L resulted in an increase in seed y.eld(ton/ha)by.26.69%&19.89%,straw y.eld(ton/ha)by.8.08%&17.12%,and oil y.eld(kg/ha)by.47.72%&33.69%compared to the control group during both seasons respectively.Foliar applications of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L along with CMS at a rate of 5 m L/L and amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/L demonstrated significantly.higher macronutrient contents(N,P,K),micronutrient contents(Fe,Zn,Mn),seed oil content,and protein content in flax seeds during both seasons.The highest values for seed oil content and protein content%were obtained through foliar application of amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/L.It can be concluded that foliar spray. with these bio-fertilizers effectively.improved flax performance by.increasing seed straw and oil y.elds,nutrients oil,protein and fatty.acids seeds contents.

Anthropogenic mineral generation and its potential resource supply. The case of niobium

The strategy.of carbon neutrality.is reshaping the global landscape of resource flow and recy.ling. As the final sink of geological minerals, the proliferated anthropogenic minerals, also called secondary.resources, play.an increasingly.important role in resource supply.enrichment. Niobium is a critical metal that lacks full concern for its sustainability. The fundamental principle of niobium circularity.is to recy.le and maintain the material as close to the manufacturing process as possible. Here we estimate the niobium-containing applications lost at their end-of-life, underscoring the imperative to minimize such disposal.Additionally. we elucidate the extraction processes for scrap and alloy.quantities throughout the industry.s lifecy.le. Drawing from anticipated waste generated by.the majority.of niobium applications, a forecast indicates a potential loss of approximately.168 kt by.2090 in the absence of recy.ling. Contrastingly. with a recy.ling efficiency.of 90% for niobium, the projected loss diminishes to approximately.16 kt. We delve into the significance of niobium's circular economy.and explore various aspects that demand further investigation for a seamless transition from linear to circular practices.

Entropy.per Rapidity.in Pb-Pb Central Collisions using Thermal and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)Models at LHC Energies

The entropy.per rapidity.dS/dy.produced in central Pb-Pb ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions at LHC energies is calculated using experimentally.identified particle spectra and source radii estimated from Hanbury.Brown-Twiss (HBT) correlations for particles π, k, p, Λ, Ω, and ∑ and π, k, p, Λ, and K^(0)_(s) at √s =2.76 and 5.02 TeV, respectively. An artificial neural network (ANN) simulation model is used to estimate the entropy.per rapidity.dS/dy.at the considered energies. The simulation results are compared with equivalent experimental data, and a good agreement is achieved. A mathematical equation describing the experimental data is obtained. Extrapolation of the transverse momentum spectra at pT =0 is required to calculate dS/dy.thus, we use two different fitting functions, the Tsallis distribution and hadron resonance gas (HRG) model. The success of the ANN model in describing the experimental measurements leads to the prediction of several spectra values for the mentioned particles, which may.lead to further predictions in the absence of experiments.

In this study.we conducted a search for dark matter using a part of the data recorded by.the CMS experiment during run-I of the LHC in 2012 with a center of mass energy.of 8 TeV and an integrated luminosity.of 11.6 fb−1.These data were gathered from the CMS open data.Dark matter,in the framework of the simplified model(mono-Z′),can be produced from proton-proton collisions in association with a new hy.othetical gauge boson,Z′.Thus,the search was conducted in the dimuon plus large missing transverse momentum channel.One benchmark scenario of mono-Z′,which is known as light vector,was used for interpreting the CMS open data.No evidence of dark matter was observed,and exclusion limits were set on the masses of dark matter and Z′at 95%confidence level.

The efficient transmission of images,which play. a large role inwireless communication sy.tems,poses a significant challenge in the growth of multimedia technology.High-quality.images require well-tuned communication standards.The Single Carrier Frequency.Division Multiple Access(SC-FDMA)is adopted for broadband wireless communications,because of its low sensitivity.to carrier frequency.offsets and low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio(PAPR).Data transmission through open-channel networks requires much concentration on security.reliability.and integrity.The data need a space away.fromunauthorized access,modification,or deletion.These requirements are to be fulfilled by.digital image watermarking and encry.tion.This paper ismainly.concerned with secure image communication over the wireless SC-FDMA sy.temas an adopted communication standard.It introduces a robust image communication framework over SC-FDMA that comprises digital image watermarking and encry.tion to improve image security.while maintaining a high-quality.reconstruction of images at the receiver side.The proposed framework allows image watermarking based on the Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT)merged with the Singular Value Decomposition(SVD)in the so-called DCT-SVD watermarking.In addition,image encry.tion is implemented based on chaos and DNA encoding.The encry.ted watermarked images are then transmitted through the wireless SC-FDMA sy.tem.The linearMinimumMean Square Error(MMSE)equalizer is investigated in this paper to mitigate the effect of channel fading and noise on the transmitted images.Two subcarrier mapping schemes,namely.localized and interleaved schemes,are compared in this paper.The study.depends on different channelmodels,namely.PedestrianAandVehicularA,with a modulation technique namedQuadratureAmplitude Modulation(QAM).Extensive simulation experiments are conducted and introduced in this paper for efficient transmission of encry.ted watermarked images.In addition,different variants of SC-FDMA based on the Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT),Discre

Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly.nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish culture.Tilapia fish has many.impressive qualities making them very.suitable for aquaculture.Therefore,this study.aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MOAE)at vary.ng concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 day.)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile tilapia.Additionally.histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were evaluated.Significant enhancements(Pells,hemoglobin,packed cell volume,white blood cells,and total serum protein were observed in fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet compared with other groups.However,a significant reduction(Py.function tests and non-significant changes in lipid profile were recorded.On the other hand,fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed disturbance in the corresponding parameters.Severe histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet.In comparison,fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other groups.Concomitant immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic features.Accordingly.a dietary.MOAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney.functions in Nile tilapia.Meanwhile,caution must be considered when using MOAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet.

A Model for a Dual Universe

A model for a dual universe is proposed, based on the assumption that simultaneously.with our universe an anti-matter counterpart was initiated immediately.following the Big Bang. At the heart of the model is a primordial anti-particle that differentiates itself from its counterpart, a previously.hy.othesized S-particle responsible for the formation of our own universe, through its course of rotation. The angular rotation of the anti-particle, in accordance with space-time rotation, together with the counter rotation of the S-particle, resulted in a time difference in the formation processes of both universes and consequently.led to a large distance between the spatial locations occupied by.our universe and its dual counterpart in the same space-time continuum. The existence of this anti-matter universe might solve the present my.tery.of matter anti-matter asy.metry.and thus explain why.hardly.any.free anti-matter can be observed in our universe. Moreover, the model implicates the possibility.of the presence of a repulsive gravitational force exerted by.the clusters of anti-particles in the anti-matter universe upon our universe. The repulsive gravitational force from the clusters of antiparticles in the dual universe as a whole upon our universe is completely.different from the electrostatic repulsive force between similarly.charged particles. It is also different from that due to possible gravitational or anti-gravitational interaction between individual matter and antimatter or particle and its antiparticle that might violate the CPT invariance, the theory.of general relativity.or the law of energy.conservation. It is rather, a kind of negative gravity.that affects our universe as a whole, due to the opposite course of rotation of the dual anti-universe relative to ours. The effect of this opposite rotation of the dual universe can cause anti-gravitational waves that penetrate our universe interacting with the space-time mesh around the galaxies in our universe as a whole, resulting in a negative-like curvatur

Bearing capacity.of circular footings on multi-lay.red sand-waste tire shreds reinforced with geogrids

The presence of waste tires poses an environmental challenge as they.occupy.a significant amount of land and are expensive to dispose in landfills.However,reusing waste tires can address this issue when waste tires are used in geotechnical applications.To determine the viability.of this approach,laboratory.cale tests were conducted to investigate load-bearing capacity.of circular footings on sand-tire shred(STS)mixtures with shredded waste tire contents of 5%e15%by.weight and three different widths of shreds.The investigation focused on analy.ing the thickness of lay.rs composed of STS mixtures,the soil cap,and the impact of geogrids on bearing capacity.The results indicate that a specific mixture of sand and tire shreds provides the highest footing-bearing capacity.In addition,the optimal shred content and size were found to be 10%by.weight and 2 cm×10 cm,respectively.Furthermore,for a given tire shred width,a particular length provides the largest bearing capacity.The results agree well with that of previous research conducted by.the first author and his colleagues in direct shear and California bearing ratio(CBR)tests.The primary.finding of this research is that the use of two-lay.red STS mixtures reinforced by.geogrids significantly.enhances the bearing capacity.

Response Evaluation Using Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound for Unresectable Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated With Ty.osine Kinase Inhibitors Plus Anti-PD-1 Antibody.Therapy

Objective: The aim of the work described here was to evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with ty.osine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody.therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.treatment for unresectable HCC between January.2022 and October 2022 was included in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Changes in the largest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced US and the largest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with unenhanced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography.(MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y. Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in the target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenhanced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was a high degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

“碳中和”战略正在重塑全球资源流动和循环利用的格局,迅速增长的“城市矿产”(也称为二次资源)作为地质矿产的延伸,在资源供给和平衡方面发挥着越来越重要的作用.铌是一种关键金属,但目前缺乏对其可持续性的研究.循环利用的基本原则是尽可能的在其全生命周期过程中高效利用该金属,对此,我们评估了含铌材料在报废过程中的损耗,揭示了最大限度减少此类损耗的必要性,阐明了全生命周期中含“城市矿产”和合金的利用过程.根据对大多数铌应用产生的“城市矿产”预测,如果不进行回收利用,到2090年可能会损失16.8万吨.相反,如果金属铌的回收利用率增至90%,预计其损失将减少到1.6万吨.因此,需要探索各种措施,以实现从线性经济到循环经济的无缝过渡,促进铌资源的可持续利用.
