Flexible organic materials that exhibit dynamic ultralong room temperature phosphorescence(DURTP)via photoactivation have attracted increasing research interest for their fascinating functions of reversibly writing-reading-erasing graphic information in the form of a long ***,due to the existence of a nonnegligible activation threshold for the initial exposure dose,the display mode of these materials has thus far been limited to binary *** resorting to halogen element doping of carbon dots(CDs)to enhance intersystem crossing and reduce the activation threshold,we were able to produce,for the first time,a transparent,flexible,and fully programmable DURTP composite film with a reliable grayscale display *** of promising applications in UV photography and highly confidential steganography were constructed,partially demonstrating the broad future applications of this material as a programmable platform with a high optical information density.

As environmental concerns from fossil fuel consumption intensify, large-scale energy storage becomes imperative for the integration of renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar with the electrical *** flow batteries, particularly those employing organic molecules, are positioned as a key technology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric organic redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this context. Unlike traditional asymmetric designs based on unique active materials for each electrode, symmetric ORFBs involve a single bipolar species for both electrodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric design, and categorizes five distinct classes of organic bipolar molecules used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a comprehensive overview of their cell cycling and performance characteristics, the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse categories of bipolar molecules are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new research directions and advance the development of practical symmetric ORFBs.

This study aimed to(1) monitor the occurrence and spatiotemporal variations of 100 pesticides in sediments collected monthly from July 2018 to June 2019 from sampling sites in El-Rahawy, Sabal, and Tala, along the Rosetta branch of the Nile River, Egypt, and(2) perform an ecological risk assessment for aquatic organisms upon exposure to the detected sediment pesticides based on the risk quotient(RQ) method. Out of the 100 pesticides monitored, 16 pesticides belonging to seven chemical families were detected, and 55% of the sediment samples were contaminated with one or more pesticide residues. The mean concentration(mg/kg dry weight(dw)) and detection frequency(%) of the four most frequently detected pesticides in the sediment samples were as follows: chlorpyrifos(0.18 mg/kg dw and 34%), p,p-DDE(0.018 mg/kg dw and 30%), cypermethrin(0.03 mg/kg dw and 14%), and deltamethrin(0.026 mg/kg dw and 13%). The spatial distribution exhibited that El-Rahawy had the highest pesticide load(2.86 mg/kg dw) among the studied sites, whereas the temporal variations revealed that the highest total pesticide concentrations were detected in winter season(1.73 mg/kg dw). Meanwhile, 12 pesticides showed high RQs(>1), posing a potential ecological risk to aquatic species that live and feed on such sediments.

Seal authentication is an important task for verifying the authenticity of stamped seals used in various domains to protect legal documents from tampering and *** seal inspection is commonly audited manually to ensure document ***,manual assessment of seal images is tedious and laborintensive due to human errors,inconsistent placement,and completeness of the *** image recognition systems are inadequate enough to identify seal types accurately,necessitating a neural network-based method for seal image ***,neural network-based classification algorithms,such as Residual Networks(ResNet)andVisualGeometryGroup with 16 layers(VGG16)yield suboptimal recognition rates on stamp ***,the fixed training data categories make handling new categories to be a challenging *** paper proposes amulti-stage seal recognition algorithmbased on Siamese network to overcome these ***,the seal image is pre-processed by applying an image rotation correction module based on Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HOG).Secondly,the similarity between input seal image pairs is measured by utilizing a similarity comparison module based on the Siamese ***,we compare the results with the pre-stored standard seal template images in the database to obtain the seal *** evaluate the performance of the proposed method,we further create a new seal image dataset that contains two subsets with 210,000 valid labeled pairs in *** proposed work has a practical significance in industries where automatic seal authentication is essential as in legal,financial,and governmental sectors,where automatic seal recognition can enhance document security and streamline validation ***,the experimental results show that the proposed multi-stage method for seal image recognition outperforms state-of-the-art methods on the two established datasets.

We demonstrated a new type of MAX phase material, chromium titanium aluminum carbide（Cr2TialC2） polymer film, to generate a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser（EDFL）. The film thickness was measured to be around 45 μm, which was fabricated using the embedding method with polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） polymer as hoster. The saturable absorber（SA） film demonstrates a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm and 1 560.19 nm, respectively. The Q-switching pulse duration could be varied from 2.46 μs to 770 ns, while the repetition rate varied from 92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pumping range from 154 mW to 300 mW. The maximum output power and pulse energy of 15.05 mW and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the maximum input power of 300 mW, respectively.

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) has attracted extensive attention as a new technique for in-situ marine application. In this work, the influence of deep-sea high pressure environment on LIBS signals was investigated by using a compact LIBS-sea system developed by Ocean University of China for the in-situ chemical analysis of seawater. The results from the field measurements show that the liquid pressure has a significant effect on the LIBS signals. Higher peak intensity and larger line broadening were obtained as the pressure increases. By comparing the variations of the temperature and salinity with the LIBS signals, a weak correlation between them can be observed. Under high pressure conditions, the optimal laser energy was higher than that in air environment. When the laser energy exceeded 17 mJ, the effect of laser energy on the signal intensity weakened. The signal intensity decreases gradually at larger delays. The obtained results verified the feasibility of the LIBS technique for the deep-sea in-situ detection, and we hope this technology can contribute to surveying more deep-sea environments such as the hydrothermal vent regions.
