r.ce is the most impor.ant and cr.cial to ensur.ng food and dietar. ener.y secur.ty in most developing countr.es and is the staple food of mor. than half of the wor.d’s population. This study was conducted to identify the seed r.te of hybr.d r.ce var.eties for.mechanical tr.nsplanting dur.ng Bor. (ir.igated dr. season), 2021-22 season at Br.I r.sear.h field, Gazipur. Slender.gr.in type Br.I hybr.d dhan3, Br.I hybr.d dhan5, Ishpahani hybr.d dhan6, and Br.I dhan89 wer. used in the study. The same gr.wth medium was used to establish mat-type seedlings on plastic tr.ys (280 × 80 × 25 mm) at seed r.tes of 80, 90, 100, 110, and 120 g∙tr.y−1. Walk-behind type 04 r.ws r.ce tr.nsplanter.(Daedong, model-DP 488) was used dur.ng tr.nsplanting in the field at the set of the plant to plant spacing of 140 mm while line-to-line spacing was fixed to 300 mm. The r.sult depicted that r.gar.less of the var.ety, seedling density incr.ased linear.y as seed r.te incr.ased, except for.the 21 days following sowing. However. the seedling density of Br.I dhan89 decr.ased after.the seed r.te of 100 g∙tr.y−1 due to mor.ality. The seedling height of the Br.I hybr.ds dhan5 and Ishpahani hybr.d dhan6 was significantly higher.than that of the Br.I hybr.d dhan3 and Br.I dhan89. After.21 days, the seedling height decr.ased significantly with the incr.ase in seed r.te. For.the seed r.tes of 100, 110, and 120 g∙tr.y−1, identical number. of hills per.unit ar.a and plants per.hill wer. obser.ed. On the other.hand, r.gar.less of the var.ety, the per.entage of missing hills consider.bly decr.ased with the incr.ased seed r.te. The yield of the Br.I hybr.d dhan5 var.ety was significantly higher.at the seed r.tes of 100 and 110 g∙tr.y−1, although the yield of the Ishpahani hybr.d dhan6 var.ety was compar.ble. In ter.s of yield among the four.var.eties, Br.I hybr.d dhan5 gave a higher.yield followed by Ishpahani hybr.d

This study pr.sents a case study on the heavy metal analysis of soil and plant samples ar.und the Mur.ul copper.mine,one of the fir.t and most impor.ant mining ar.as in *** attempt has been made to investigate the status of tr.ce elements like Al^(3+),Fe^(2+),Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),Pb^(2+),Ni^(2+),Co^(2+)and Cd^(2+)in soils and *** sampling localities wer. taken fr.m 500 m,600 m,and 1000 m altitudes ar.und the factor. and at 1400 m in the for.st *** abovegr.und par.s and foliage ash of Silene compacta,Tussilago far.ar.,Smilax excelsa,r.ododendr.n ponticum,***,and her.al mix wer. *** r.sults of analysis have r.vealed the minimum and maximum concentr.tions measur.d in the plants as follows;aluminium(20-8985 mg kg^(-1)),cadmium(0.0-0.5 mg kg^(-1)),cobalt(0.0-5.5 mg kg^(-1)),copper.0.0-347.5 mg kg^(-1)),ir.n(25-9320 mg kg^(-1)),lead(2-51 mg kg^(-1)),nickel(1.5-16.5 mg kg^(-1)),and zinc(13.0-221.0 mg kg^(-1)).In the soil the concentr.tions of aluminium,cadmium,cobalt,copper.ir.n,lead,nickel,and zinc var. between 33-457,0.0-0.0,0.0-0.4,0.1-88.7,14-50,0.3-4.1,0.2-0.8,and 4.0-20.3 mg kg^(-1) *** findings enlighten the fact that copper.is gener.lly toxic in the soils as well as *** compacta has been r.cor.ed as a high copper.accumulator.behaving as a healthy plant on the polluted sites of the ar.a alongside the Mur.ul cr.ek(especially at 600 m).This study str.sses the fact that it is imper.tive to assess and monitor.the levels of heavy metals in the envir.nment due to anthr.pogenic activities,including mining,for.evaluation of human exposur. and for.sustainable envir.nment.

This paper.pr.vides analytical diagnosis of mechanical conditions of medical waste inciner.tor. used for.healthcar. waste (HCW) tr.atment in Tanzania. The main featur.s assessed wer. types of inciner.tor., featur.s of inciner.tor. and inciner.tor.house. The assessment was conducted in thr.e levels of health car. facilities (HCFs), that is, r.gional, distr.ct hospitals and health center., existed in 26 r.gions of Tanzania. Questionnair.s, inter.iew and checklists wer. used as tools for.data collection. It was obser.ed that High-Tech inciner.tor. ar. mainly used in r.gional hospitals, while distr.ct hospital and health center.use both High-Tech and De-Montfor. inciner.tor.. About 60% of the inciner.tor. have defective door.. Mor. than 55% of inciner.tor. ar. cor.oded in r.gional and distr.ct hospitals. The chimney, top plates and gr.te which ar. good condition ar. 55.6% and 60% in r.gional hospitals and health center., r.spectively. The situation is below 50% in distr.ct hospitals. The leakage of the r.of and loose str.ctur.s wer. obser.ed in distr.ct hospitals and health center.to be mor. than 50% of the inciner.tor.houses. On other.hand, the per.or.ance of bur.er. and inciner.tor.housing cleanliness ar. gener.lly good. It was concluded that the inciner.tor. in the HCFs ar. in bad conditions, necessitating maintenance.
