Assessment of the relationship between the return to work and the severity of work-related upper limb injuries using the whole person impairment

Purpose:Upper limb disorders are one of the most common and important types of occupational ***,identifying the factors influencing return to work following these injuries is essential to reduce the dimensions of the *** this study,we investigated the return to work and associated factors following occupational injuries leading to upper limb ***:In this retrospective cohort study,the rate of return to work and associated factors were assessed in 256 workers with work-related upper limb injury referred to a teaching hospital from March 2011 to December *** inclusion criterion was a history of occupational injury resulting in upper limb impairment,and exclusion criteria included the presence of simultaneous impairment in other organs,congenital or non-occupational limb defects as well as patients with incomplete information in their medical ***’’ records,including age at the time of injury,gender,date of injury,marital status,education,level of amputation and injury,whole person impairment (WPI) and physiotherapy (prescribed by the physician) were *** WPI was calculated to assess the extent of the *** analyzes were performed by SPSS version ***:The rate of return to work was 54.3%,in which 51.8% for the same job and 48.2% for a new *** main factors associated with non-return to work were more days off work (p = 0.001),higher injury severity (p = 0.001),and dominant hand injury (p = 0.034).Conclusion:The number of days off work,the WPI,and dominant hand injury are the most important determinant in returning to *** addition,increased job satisfaction and support from co-workers and employers are work-related factors that can lead to an increased return to work.

Molecular Phylogeny, Species Delimitation and Taxonomic Revision of the Australian Spider Wasp Genus Heterodontonyx Haupt, 1935 (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae)

Heterodontonyx (Pompilidae: Pepsinae) is an understudied genus with Australasiandistribution and most species are endemic to Australia. There have recently been sometaxonomic changes involving the genera Heterodontonyx and Cryptocheilus based on molecular and morphological evidence, however, phylogenetic relationships within Heterodontonyx, species delimitation and formal revision have not been conducted. Here, we construct a Maximum Likelihood phylogeny estimate of Heterodontonyx based on ITS1, 5.8S, ITS2 region of 30 samples representing seven Heterodontonyx morphospecies. bPTP species delimitation approach was employed and ultimately the taxonomic revision of the genus was carried out. Phylogenetic analyses strongly support the monophyly of Heterodontonyx and the species delimitation method recognizes eight species among which one new species is identified.

Geology,geochemistry,fluid inclusions and O-H stable isotope constraints on genesis of the Lake Siah Fe-oxide±apatite deposit,NE Bafq,Central Iran

The Lake Siah iron±apatite deposit is situated in the Bafq Mining District(BMD),Central *** iron±apatite orebodies are hosted by a succession of rhyolite,rhyolitie tuff,trachyandesite,and andesite of Lower Cambrian *** host rock has undergone wide-spread alteration and mineralization stages including Na(albite-quartz),followed by Na-Ca(albite-calcite--am-phibole-magnetite±quartz±epidote),magnetite-ap-atite,K(biotite±K-feldspar),hydrolytic(sericite-quartz),and argillic(kaolinite--montmorillonite±dickite),*** microprobe analyses(EPMA)from mag-netite and hematite show significant variations of trace *** on Ni/Cr+Mn and Ca+Al+Mn ver-sus Ti+V diagrams,the majority of magnetite samples belong to Kiruna-type *** least,three generations of fluid inclusions,including solid-bearing(L+V+S)(Type I),liquid-rich(L+V)(Type II-A),vapor-rich(L+V)(Type II-B),and liquid or vapor mono-phase(Type II),are recognized in quartz and *** solid-bearing fluid inclusions in quartz completely homogenized at temperatures of 150 to>530℃with salinities of 30--58 wt%NaCl ***-rich fluid inclusions in apatite homogenized to a liquid phase at 175--210℃,whereas the vapor-rich fuid inclusions homogenized to a vapor at 335-350°*** isotope analysis was carried out on quartz and *** hydrogen and oxygen isotopic compositions of quartz(8"Onuid values of 7.57-11.04%)show that with progress in time the ore-forming solutions gradually evolved from a magmatic to meteoric-dominated source.

Prevalence of depression and anxiety among children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background Evaluation of psychiatric disorders in children is essential in timely *** individual studies,there is no information on the exact status of psychiatric disorders in *** present study was conducted to determine the prevalence of depression among children with type 1 and type 2 *** This meta-analysis is registered with PROSPERO(CRD42021231491).Several databases(Web of Science,Scopus,and PubMed)were searched from January 1,2000 to December 15,*** key words included:depression,anxiety,children,and *** steps of search,comprising screening,risk of bias,and extraction of study data,were performed separately by two *** It was found that a total of 109 studies had been conducted involving 52,493 children with type 1 and type 2 *** studies were included in the present review *** prevalence of depression,anxiety among children with type 1 diabetes were 22.2%[95%confidence interval(CI)19.2–25.2],and 17.7%(95%CI 15.2–20.1),*** prevalence of depression was higher among girls(29.7%)than boys(19.7%).The prevalence of depression was higher in lower-middle-income countries at 29.3%(95%CI 18.6–40.0).The prevalence of depression among children with type 2 diabetes was 22.7%(95%CI 17.3–28.0).Conclusion The results of the present study indicate the importance of paying attention to extensive periodic screening and appropriate activities to reduce pediatric depression.

A first order evaluation of the capacity of a healthcare network under emergency

Immediately after an earthquake a healthcare system within a city, comprising several hospitals, endures an extraordinary demand. This paper proposes a new methodology to estimate whether the hospital network has enough capacity to withstand the emergency caused by an earthquake. The ability of healthcare facilities and to provide a broad spectrum of emergency services immediately after a seismic event is assessed through a metamodel that assumes waiting time as main response parameter to assess the hospital network performance. The First Aid network of San Francisco subjected to a 7.2 Mw magnitude earthquake has been used as case study. The total number of injuries and their distributions among the six major San Francisco’s Emergency Departments have been assessed and compared with their capacity that has been determined using a survey conducted by the medical staff of the hospitals. The numerical results have shown that three of the six considered San Francisco’s hospitals cannot provide emergency services to the estimated injured. Two alternatives have been proposed to improve the performance of the network. The fi rst one redistributes existing resources while the second one considers additional resources by designing a new Emergency Department.

Structural Finite Element Software Coupling Using Adapter Elements

This paper describes a versatile and computationally efficient method for coupling several finite element analysis(FEA)programs together so that the unique modeling and analysis capabilities of each code can be utilized simultaneously to simulate the static or dynamic response of a complete numerical *** arbitrary number of finite element analysis software packages can be coupled by adding two special types of elements,namely generic and adapter elements,to each of the finite element applications using their programming *** elements are inserted at the interfaces between the different sub-domains of the complete system modeled by each finite element analysis software *** of data between the coupled FEA codes is accomplished in a modular and synchronized manner using OpenFresco(Opensource Framework for Experimental Setup and Control).OpenFresco is an objectoriented,environment independent software framework initially developed for hybrid simulation in which certain aspects of a complete structure are simulated numerically and other aspects are simultaneously tested *** important practical advantage of this coupled analysis approach is that all of the connected FEA codes run concurrently and continuously,decreasing analysis time consumption by an order of magnitude or more compared to more traditional approaches that shut down and restart the coupled analysis codes at each integration time *** implementation and accuracy of this approach to FE software coupling are demonstrated using dynamic analyses of three simple structural models from the field of earthquake engineering.

Seroepidemiology of bluetongue disease in small ruminants of northeast of Iran

Objective:To estimate the prevalence and distribution of bluetongue vims antibody in sheep and goats in 25 townships of Khorasan *** is an infectious,non-contagious,arthropod born viral disease of ruminants and has been reported from most of the tropical and subtropical regions of the ***:A total number of 1034 serum samples from sheep and goats were collected and transmitted to Serological Laboratory of Veterinary Council of Khorasan *** were screened for the presence of group-specific bluetongue virus antibody using competitive Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay(c-ELISA).Kesults:The seropositivitv of sheep and goats for bluetongue was found to be 89.2%.The highest prevalence rate was seen in ***-abad and Torbat-jam(100%)and the least prevalence rate was seen in Jovein(55%).Conclusions:The results showed that the majority of animals in the north-east of Iran are infected with bluetongue *** correlation between abortion history and seroposivity emphasize the economical importance of bluetongue virus in the sheep herds of the region.

Spatiotemporal variability of channel and bar morphodynamics in the Gorai-Madhumati River,Bangladesh using remote sensing and GIS techniques

Bangladesh is a riparian country that is criss-crossed by the many tributaries and distributaries of the mighty Ganges,Brahmaputra,and Meghna river ***-Madhumati,a distributary of the Ganges River is an example where morphological development of the river is associated with frequent channel shifting within the catchment *** main objective of this research is to quantify the extent of channel migration,erosion-accretion,river width,sinuosity,and charland morpho-dynamics from 1972 to 2018 using geospatial techniques combined with satellite images and hydrological *** study also addressed the impacts of Farakka Barrage construction in India on the shifting,flow behavior,and siltation of Gorai-Madhumati *** study shows that bar surface areas have abnormally increased in both segments after 1975 due to the construction of Farakka *** flow in the Gorai-Madhumati has dropped remarkably in the downstream and instigated huge sedimentation in this *** of the time series satellite images revealed that the morphology of the river channel experienced huge changes simultaneously with the changes in the seasonal flow and sedimentation all over the study *** trend has frequently shifted and taken place in the NW and NE direction in the observed sections of the *** the study period,total amount of accretion was greater than the net percentage of erosion on both banks of the *** discharge,bar accretion,and erosion history show that the Gorai-Madhumati River will no longer exist with the present flowing condition without attention and proper river management.

Antioxidant activity and total phenolic and flavonoid content of the extract and chemical composition of the essential oil of Eremostachys laciniata collected from Zagros

Objective: To examine the chemical component of the essential oil of Eremostachys laciniata and evaluate antioxidant activity of the ***: The hydrodistillated essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Also, antioxidant activity, total phenolic and flavonoid content were determined by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, Folin-Ciocalteu and colorimetric method, ***: The major components of the essential oil were p-cymene(21.64%), linalool(17.93%), and a-pinene(11.42%). Also, the extract obtained by methanol showed a good antioxidant activity. The same extract also exhibited high phenolic and flavonoid ***: These results indicate that Eremostachys laciniata can be used in dietary applications with a potential to reduce oxidative stress.
