High resolution sequence stratigraphy of the mishrif Formation(Cenomanian-Early Turonian)at zubair oilfield(al-rafdhiah dome),southern Iraq

The mishrif Formation(Cenomanian-E Turonian)is one of the most important geological formations in the middle East and Iraq because it contains enormous petroleum accumulations.It is considered to be the first reservoir in the region,and is still being studied because of its economic significance.The carbonate of the mishrif Formation derives from a variety of depositional settings,including mid-ramp,shoal,lagoon,and intertidal.The five main microfacies discussed in this paper are wackestone,packstone,grainstone,floatstone,and bindstone.The most frequent fossilised components found in the mishrif Formation are rudists,benthic foraminifera,echinoderms,burrows molluscs,and algae.According to the microfacies and analysed wireline log data,the sequence stratigraphy of the studied formation is composed of two regression cycles.Five parasequences of transgressive-regressive cycles make up the depositional sequence of the mishrif Formation.The standard depositional environments seem to demonstrate a gradual regression,beginning with a short period of the outer ramp,then a steady period of the mid-ramp,and ending in the intertidal environment.Additionally,the study recorded two regional maximum flooding surfaces:K-135 and K-140.The former is present in the lowermost part of the formation,while the other lies in the middle.This study shows a close relationship between facies(environments)and hydrocarbon accumulation.The increased accumulation focuses on the lower part of the studied formation,and seems to be lower in the upper part of the formation as a result of changes in the environment of deposition.

Tracking load changes in a pressurized water reactor(PWR)with the help of an efficient core power control scheme in a nuclear power station is very important.The reason is that it is challenging to maintain a stable core power according to the reference value within an acceptable tolerance for the safety of PWR.To overcome the uncertainties,a non-integer-based fractional order control method is demonstrated to control the core power of PWR.The available dynamic model of the reactor core is used in this analysis.Core power is controlled using a modified state feedback approach with a non-integer integral scheme through two different approximations,CRONE(Commande Robuste d’Ordre Non Entier,meaning Non-integer orderRobust Control)and FOmCON(non-integer order modeling and control).Simulation results are produced using mATLAB■program.Both non-integer results are compared with an integer order PI(Proportional Integral)algorithm to justify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.Sate-spacemodel Core power control Non-integer control Pressurized water reactor PI controller CRONE FOmCON.

In-situ measurement on air-water flux of CH_(4),CO_(2) and their carbon stable isotope in lakes of northeast Tibetan Plateau

Inland waters are important sources of greenhouse gases(GHGs)to the atmosphere that may partially offset the terrestrial carbon sink.However,GHG emissions from high altitude saline lakes on the Tibetan Plateau are currently poorly constrained.In this study,we measured methane(CH_(4))and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))concentrations and their carbon stable isotope(δ13C),and calculated diffusive water-to-air fluxes from two saline high-altitude lakes,Qinghai Lake and Hala Lake,located in northeast Tibetan Plateau in October 2020.The two lakes were mostly supersaturated in CH_(4)(89.8%-4623.9%sat)and acted as sources of CH_(4) to the atmosphere.Conversely,more than 96%investigated area of Qinghai Lake and all investigated area of Hala Lake was a sink of CO_(2).The average diffusive fluxes of CH_(4) and CO_(2) in the surface waters of Qinghai Lake were 34.51μmol m−2 d−1 and−1.29 mmol m−2 d−1,while diffusive fluxes of CH_(4) and CO_(2) in Hala Lake averaged 5.48μmol m−2 d−1 and−5.24 mmol m−2 d−1,respectively.Salinity(Sal),fluorescent dissolved organic matter(fDOm),temperature(Temp)and dissolved oxygen(DO)are key factors for diffusive CH_(4) and CO_(2) flux in Qinghai Lake and Hala Lake.CH_(4) diffusive fluxes across water-air interface from Qinghai Lake and Hala Lake were found to be significantly lower than other freshwater lakes,likely due to their saline nature.A simple isotope mixing model(miller-Tans plots)revealed a distinctly different isotopic source values of CO_(2) and CH_(4) in Qinghai Lake and Hala Lake.The CH_(4) production pathway of Qinghai Lake was mainly by the acetate fermentation,while that of Hala Lake was mainly by the CO_(2) reduction.The results show that the continuous measurement can help capture the spatial variability of GHGs fluxes in saline lakes.

medulloblastoma(mB)is considered the commonest malignant brain tumor in children.multimodal treatments consisting of surgery,radiation,and chemotherapy have improved patients’survival.Nevertheless,the recurrence occurs in 30%of cases.The persistent mortality rates,the failure of current therapies to extend life expectancy,and the serious complications of non-targeted cytotoxic treatment indicate the need for more refined therapeutic approaches.most mBs originating from the neurons of external granular layer line the outer surface of neocerebellum and responsible for the afferent and efferent connections.Recently,mBs have been segregated into four molecular subgroups:Wingless-activated(WNT-mB)(Group 1);Sonichedgehog-activated(SHH-mB)(Group 2);Group 3 and 4 mBs.These molecular alterations follow specific gene mutations and disease-risk stratifications.The current treatment protocols and ongoing clinical trials against these molecular subgroups are still using common chemotherapeutic agents by which their efficacy have improved the progression-free survival but did not change the overall survival.However,the need to explore new therapies targeting specific receptors in mB microenvironment became essential.The immune microenvironment of mBs consists of distinctive cellular heterogeneities including immune cells and none-immune cells.Tumour associate macrophage and tumour infiltrating lymphocyte are considered the main principal cells in tumour microenvironment,and their role are still under investigation.In this review,we discuss the mechanism of interaction between mB cells and immune cells in the microenvironment,with an overview of the recent investigations and clinical trials.

Intelligent Sign multi-Language Real-Time Prediction System with Effective Data Preprocessing

A multidisciplinary approach for developing an intelligent sign multi-language recognition system to greatly enhance deaf-mute communication will be discussed and implemented. This involves designing a low-cost glove-based sensing system, collecting large and diverse datasets, preprocessing the data, and using efficient machine learning models. Furthermore, the glove is integrated with a user-friendly mobile application called “Life-sign” for this system. The main goal of this work is to minimize the processing time of machine learning classifiers while maintaining higher accuracy performance. This is achieved by using effective preprocessing algorithms to handle noisy and inconsistent data. Testing and iterating approaches have been applied to various classifiers to refine and improve their accuracy in the recognition process. Additionally, the Extra Trees (ET) classifier has been identified as the best algorithm, with results proving successful gesture prediction at an average accuracy of about 99.54%. A smart optimization feature has been implemented to control the size of data transferred via Bluetooth, allowing for fast recognition of consecutive gestures. Real-time performance has been measured through extensive experimental testing on various consecutive gestures, specifically referring to Arabic Sign Language (ArSL). The results have demonstrated that the system guarantees consecutive gesture recognition with a lower delay of 50 milliseconds.

Assessment of Radiation Hazard from External and Internal Exposures at Adham and Surroundings in KSA

Twenty-eight environmental samples (eight well water, sixteen granitic rocks and four soils) were collected from different parts of Adham governorate (Adham, Haqal and Al-Jaizah), to assess the radiological hazard and cancer risk from different perspectives. Adham is situated in a valley between two granitic mountain chains, where much of water supply for drinking, house use and irrigation comes from wells collecting water rains. The activity concentrations of naturally occurring 40K, 226Ra and 232Th and radionuclides were measured by gamma-ray spectrometry for all samples using RGK-1, RGU-1 and RGTh-1, IAEA reference standards issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency, for detector efficiency calibration. The measured values were utilized to evaluate the internal and external exposures both outdoors and indoors. Different standard room models were adopted for this respect to evaluate the indoor gamma-rays exposure from construction materials as well as internal exposure to radon gas emanating from them. Radon concentration indoors, exceeded the upper reference level in dwellings set at 300 Bq/m3 by the world health organization, in many scenarios. The mean value of the total excess lifetime cancer risk (due to external exposure from gamma-rays) was 2.29 × 10-3, above the world average value of 1.45 × 10-3. Furthermore, the measured radon concentrations in all water samples exceeded the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) 11.1 Bq·L-1 standard for drinking water, ranging from 12 to 38 Bq·L-1 with a mean value of 27 Bq·L-1. The total annual effective dose (due to inhalation and ingestion) from radon in water, ranged from 58 to 192 μSv/y (for adults) exceeding the international permissible limit of 100 μSv/y, in seven out of eight samples. Background:The increasing occurrence of diabetes mellitus(Dm)noted worldwide has considerably elicited concern in the recent past.Dm is associated with elevated vascular complications,morbidity,mortality,and poor quality of life.In this context,mesenchymal stem cells(mSCs)have shown significant therapeutic potentialities in managing and curing type 1 Dm owing to their self-renewable,immunosuppressive,and differentiation capacities.We investigated the potential action of N,N′-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine(DPPD),a well-known synthetic antioxidant to enhance the therapeutic ability of the adipose-derived stem cells(AD-mSCs)in alleviating kidney and liver complications in diabetic rats.methods:Over the four weeks of experiments,albino male rats(n=36)were split into six test groups:control,DPPD(250 mg/kg,i.p.),STZ-diabetic(D),D+DPPD,D+AD-mSCs(1×10^(6)cell/rat,i.v.),and D+AD-mSCs+DPPD treated groups.Results:Significant declines in the renal and hepatic oxidative stress markers(mDA,ROS,and AGEs)were observed coupled with a significant elevation in many antioxidant marker levels(GSH,SOD,CAT,GPx,HO-1,and TAC)in the diabetic rats treated with either DPPD or AD-mSCs or their co-administered injection compared to the diabetic untreated rats.This was suggested to be the leading cause of amelioration of the kidney functions(as measured by urea,uric acid,and creatine levels)and liver functions(as evidenced by the levels of AST,ALT,ALP,bilirubin,total proteins,albumin,and globulins).Conclusion:DPPD and AD-mSCs co-administration showed superior results in terms of the enhancement of the relative hepato-renal function,indicating the beneficial role of DPPD supplementation in increasing the therapeutic potential of AD-mSCs.

Probing shock geometry via the charge to mass ratio dependence of heavy ion spectra from multiple spacecraft observations of the 2013 November 4 event

In large Solar Energetic Particle （SEP） events, ions can be accelerated at coronal mass ejection （CmE）-driven shocks to very high energies. The spectra of heavy ions in many large SEP events show features such as roll-overs or spectral breaks. In some events when the spectra are plotted in terms of energy/nucleon, they can be shifted relative to each other to make the spectral breaks align. The amount of shift is charge to mass ratio （Q/A） dependent and varies from event to event. This can be understood if the spectra of heavy ions are organized by the diffusion coefficients （Cohen et al. 2005）. In the work of Li et al. （2009）, the Q/A dependence of the scaling is related to shock geometry when the CmE-driven shock is close to the Sun. For events where multiple in-situ spacecraft observations exist, one may expect that different spacecraft are connected to different portions of the CmE-driven shock that have different shock geometries, therefore yielding different Q/A dependence. In this work, we examine one SEP event which occurred on 2013 November 4. We study the Q/A dependence of the energy scaling for heavy ion spectra using helium, oxygen and iron ions. Observations from STEREO-A, STEREO-B and ACE are examined. We find that the scalings are different for different spacecraft. We suggest that this is because ACE, STEREO- A and STEREO-B are connected to different parts of the shock that have different shock geometries. Our analysis indicates that studying the Q/A scaling of in-situ particle spectra can serve as a powerful tool to remotely examine the shock geometry for large SEP events.

Induction of sub-G0 arrest and apoptosis by seed extract of moringa peregrina（Forssk.） Fiori in cervical and prostate cancer cell lines

Objective: This study investigated cytotoxicity and induction of apoptosis in human cervical cancer cells(HELA) and prostate cancer cells(PC-3) using the most active fraction of moringa peregrina seed extract.methods: Dried and powdered seeds were extracted using 95% ethanol. The total ethanolic extract was further dissolved in distilled water and separated into petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and aqueous extracts. Based on the results of in vitro anticancer studies of all extracts, the most highly active extract was selected for evaluation of apoptosis induction and cell cycle analysis on HELA and PC-3 cells at its half maximal inhibitory concentration using flow cytometry;DNA fragmentation by agarose gel electrophoresis and the expression of protein were measured by Western blot.Results: The chloroform fraction from the ethanolic extract of m. peregrina(CFEE) was the most active antitumor fraction. The selectivity index, determined using the normal Vero cell line, indicated that CFEE had a high degree of selectivity against HELA and PC-3 cells. CFEE induced apoptosis, confirmed by cell cycle arrest at sub-G0 phase and DNA fragmentation. CFEE induced an increase in mRNA expression of caspase-3, a decrease in Bcl-2 mRNA expression, and decreased ATP levels. CFEE increased protein expression of caspase-3 and decreased protein expression of poly-ADP-ribose polymerase-1(PARP-1).Flow cytometric analysis showed an appreciable increase in the number of cells in the early apoptotic stage in CFEE-treated HELA and PC-3 cells. CFEE treatment significantly increased lipid peroxidation(malondialdehyde level) in HELA and PC-3 cells.Conclusion: Seed extract of m. peregrina displayed a significant antitumor effect through apoptosis induction in HELA and PC-3 cells.
