Objective: The study a.med to investiga.e the effects of ma.erna. dia.etes on pre- a.d post-na.a. pa.crea.ic a.d periphera. tissues redox a.d oxida.ive sta.us in order to cla.ify their role in the dia.etogenic progra.ming of F1 offspring. Methods: Two groups of fema.e Wista. ra.s were used (dia.etic a.d control);dia.etes wa. neona.a.ly induced by STZ injection to 5-da. old ra.s. 10 pregna.cies of ea.h group were termina.ed a. GD 17 to obta.n pla.enta. a.d feta. pa.crea., liver, muscle a.d a.ipose tissues for prena.a. mea.urements. The rest of pregna.cies were completed to term a.d the offspring were wea.ed to control diet or high-ca.oric (HCD) diet a.d followed up for 30 weeks. Every 5 weeks 10 ma.e ra.s were sa.rificed a.d serum a.d tissues were obta.ned for a.sessment of fa.ting blood glucose, tissues content of 8-oxo-dG, TBa.S, GSH, GSSG, a.tioxida.t enzymes a.d ca.pa.e-3. Results: The results indica.ed tha., prena.a.ly redox sta.us of the foetuses of dia.etic mothers is shifted towa.d more oxidizing environment which results from eleva.ed oxida.ive stress a.d impa.red a.tioxida.ts a. indica.ed by eleva.ed feta. tissues content of 8-oxo-dG, TBa.S a.d GSSG a.d decrea.ed GSH a.d GSH/GSSG ra.io. a.l of these induce the a.optotic pa.hwa. in feta. pa.crea.. Postna.a.ly, impa.red glucose tolera.ce in the offspring of dia.etic mothers is detected a. 15th week of a.e a.d no hyperglycemia.wa. detected until a.e of 30 weeks in the offspring under CD while some of offspring under HCD a. a.e 25 weeks a.d most of them a. 30 weeks ha.e developed hyperglycemia. The pa.crea. of the offspring of dia.etic mothers suffers from oxida.ive stress from the 5th week of a.e a. indica.ed by eleva.ed levels of nuclea. a.d mitochondria. 8-oxo-dG contents a.d TBa.S. a.so, GSH level showed depletion with a.e a.d the a.tivity of gluta.hione reduc

Objective: The study wa. conducted to eva.ua.e the rela.ion between insulin-like growth fa.tor-1 a.d osteoca.cin a.d ma.kers of bone modula.ion (osteoprotegerin;OPG, receptor a.tiva.or nuclea. ka.pa.B;Ra.K a.d Ra.K liga.d;Ra.KL) in postmenopa.sa. Type 2 dia.etic women with a.d without osteoporosis. Methods: The study wa. conducted on 90 fema.e divided into three groups (30 ea.h). Group I included hea.thy postmenopa.sa. women a. a.control, Group II included dia.etic postmenopa.sa. women without osteoporosis Group III included dia.etic postmenopa.sa. women with osteoporosis. Fa.ting blood sa.ples were obta.ned for the determina.ion of blood glucose, Hba.c, tota. a.d ionized ca.cium, OPG, Ra.K a.d Ra.KL. a.so the levels of IGF-1 a.d osteoca.cin were a.sessed. Results: In postmenopa.sa. Type 2 dia.etic women, the osteoporosis resulted in dera.gement in OPG/sRa.KL system. The serum level of OPG wa. eleva.ed while sRa.KL declines in osteoporotic postmenopa.sa. Type 2 dia.etic women. IGF-1 level decrea.ed in dia.etic postmenopa.sa. women but those women with osteoporosis showed a.grea. decline by a.out 60%. IGF-1 level in osteoporotic dia.etic postmenopa.sa. women wa. correla.ed with BMD a.d most bone turnover ma.kers (OPG, sRa.KL, OPG/sRa.KL). Osteoca.cin declined significa.tly only in those women with osteoporosis not without osteoporosis. Conclusions: The circula.ing levels of OPG a.d sRa.KL were not useful ma.kers for bone sta.us in postmenopa.sa. women while the circula.ing levels of IGF-1 a.d osteoca.cin might give useful informa.ion a.out bone sta.us in postmenopa.sa. dia.etic women.

This study a.ms to identify fa.tors tha. a.fect the professiona. outcome of nurses suffering from occupa.iona. derma.itis. Methods: This wa. a.multicenter cross-sectiona. study concerning nurses decla.ed ha.ing occupa.iona. derma.itis in the centra. region of Tunisia. a.synoptic sheet rela.ed to socio-professiona. a.d a.ministra.ive da.a.wa. completed. a.self-a.ministered Questionna.re going over medica. a.d occupa.iona. cha.a.teristics wa. completed during a.direct interview. Results: The study involved forty nurses working in four public hospita.s in the center of Tunisia. Only 37 workers were included in the study. a.professiona. recla.sifica.ion wa. introduced a.ong 19 workers (51% of study popula.ion). Work-sta.ion a.a.ta.ion wa. requested in 14 ca.es (38%).
