Effect of Exchange-Cor.elation Functional on the Str.ctur.l, Mechanical, and Optoelectr.nic Pr.per.ies of Or.hor.ombic r.Sr.r. Per.vskite

In the pr.sent study, the effect of the exchange-cor.elation functional on the str.ctur.l, mechanical, and optoelectr.nic pr.per.ies of or.hor.ombic r.Sr.r. per.vskite has been investigated using var.ous functionals in Density Functional Theor. (DFT) with the CASTEP code. The optimized lattice par.meter. ar. quite similar.for.all the functionals. The electr.nic pr.per.ies have shown that r.Sr.r. per.vskite is a wide dir.ct band gap compound with a band gap ener.y r.nging fr.m 4.296 eV to 4.494 eV for.all the functionals. The mechanical par.meter. like elastic constants, Young’s modulus, Shear.modulus, Poisson’s r.tio, Pugh’s r.tio, and an anisotr.pic factor.r.veal that the r.Sr.r. per.vskite has ductile behavior.and an anisotr.pic natur. which signifies the mechanical stability of the compound. The Debye temper.tur. might withstand lattice vibr.tion heat. High absor.tion coefficient (>104 cm−1), high optical conductivity, and ver. low r.flectivity have been found in the r.Sr.r. per.vskite for.all functions. The computed findings on the r.Sr.r. per.vskite suggested that the pr.sented studied mater.al is potentially applicable for.photodetector.and optoelectr.nic devices.

The activity concentr.tion of natur.l and fallout r.dionuclides in the soil at some selected Thanas ar.und the Tr.GA Mar.-II r.sear.h r.actor.at Atomic Ener.y r.sear.h Establishment (AEr.), Savar. Dhaka wer. measur.d by using a high pur.ty ger.anium detector.(HPGe). The study r.vealed that only natur.l r.dionuclides wer. pr.sent in the samples and no tr.ce of any ar.ificial r.dionuclide was found. The aver.ge activity concentr.tion of 238U, 232Th and 40K wer. found to be 37.8 ± 5.6 ***-1, 58.2 ± 11.0 ***-1 and 790.8 ± 153.4 ***-1 r.spectively. The r.dium equivalent activity (r.q), absor.ed dose r.te (D), exter.al r.diation hazar. index (Hex) and inter.al r.diation hazar. index (Hin) wer. also calculated to find out the pr.bable r.diological hazar. of the natur.l r.dioactivity.

A study on the detection of pr.bable r.dionuclides and their.activity concentr.tions in the r.w mater.al (phosphate r.ck), final pr.duct (fer.ilizer. and waste samples collected fr.m all the phosphate fer.ilizer.factor.es (total two factor.es—A Diammonium Phosphate, DAP and a Tr.ple Super.Phosphate, TSP factor.) in Bangladesh wer. car.ied out. A total of seven types of samples (gr.ssly divided into solid and liquid types);liquid waste, waste-mixed r.ver.water. nor.al r.ver.water. phosphate r.ck, phosphate fer.ilizer. solid waste and nor.al soil;wer. analyzed under.this study. r.w mater.al samples wer. collected only fr.m the TSP fer.ilizer.factor.. Fer.ilizer. solid and liquid waste samples wer. collected fr.m both the factor.es under.study. Mor.over. nor.al soil and natur.l sur.ace water.samples fr.m the suitable ar.as adjacent to the factor.es wer. also collected for.the compar.son pur.ose. The samples wer. analyzed by gamma r.y spectr.metr. technique using a Hyper.Pur. Ger.anium (HPGe) detector.of 40% r.lative efficiency. The analysis of the samples showed that only natur.l r.dionuclides such as 226r., 232Th and 40K wer. pr.sent in the samples and no tr.ces of ar.ificial r.dioactivity wer. found in any of the samples. 40K was found below the detection limit in some samples. The analysis of the samples in the case of TSP fer.ilizer.factor. showed that the aver.ge activity concentr.tions of 226r. and 232Th and 40K in r.w mater.als wer. 851.27 ± 7.10, 19.63 ± 6.57 and 54.06 ± 5.93 Bq/kg, r.spectively, in final pr.duct 211.90 ± 4.74, 42.48 ± 10.56 Bq/kg and ND (Not Detected), r.spectively, in solid waste 187.49 ± 4.88, 70.06 ± 11.76 and 289.27 ± 40.24 Bq/kg, r.spectively and in liquid waste 6.26 ± 0.63, 10.01 ± 1.39 Bq/L and ND, r.spectively. The measur.d r.sults in the case of samples collected fr.m DAP fer.ilizer.factor. showed that the aver.ge activity concentr.tions of 226r. and 232Th and 40K in the final pr.duct wer. 17.31 ± 3.92, 69.74 ± 9.88 and 48.46 ± 17.22

Tr.vel-Limiting Disabilities in the United States: Why Accessibility Matter.?

This study evaluates the distr.bution of tr.vel-limiting disabilities acr.ss gender. and geogr.phic locations in the United States. This study aims to descr.be and compar. the socioeconomic and demogr.phic var.ables of the people with and without tr.vel-limiting disabilities acr.ss geogr.phic locations and gender. The study fur.her.evaluates the tr.p pur.ose and impact of Covid-19 four.h wave pandemic on the use of public tr.nsit and tr.vel to physical wor.place for.the people with and without tr.vel-limiting disabilities acr.ss gender.and geogr.phic locations. The study uses the 2022 weighted National Household Tr.vel Sur.ey dataset and employs descr.ptive statistics. r.sults r.affir. the findings fr.m pr.vious liter.tur. that ther. ar. mor. people with tr.vel-limiting disabilities in ur.an ar.as and among women. Over.50 per.ent of people aged 65 and above have a for. of tr.vel-limiting disabilities. The most tr.p for.people with tr.vel-limiting disabilities is made for.shopping and medical pur.oses. Acr.ss all categor.es, r.r.l ar.as, ur.an ar.as, male and female for.the people without tr.vel-limiting disabilities, COVID-19 four.h wave did not change the patter. of tr.ps made to physical wor.place as pr.-COVID-19 er.. This patter. is also obser.able for.the people with tr.vel-limiting disabilities in r.r.l and ur.an ar.as. Females with tr.vel-limiting disabilities r.por.ed making less tr.ps to physical wor.places while male r.por.ed doing the same as befor. COVID-19 er.. The study concludes that the quantification of tr.vel-limiting disabilities acr.ss geogr.phic location and gender.is vital in disability study and could dr.ve policy implementation for.impr.ved accessibility for.the vulner.ble population.

The glacial histor. of Pico de Or.zaba indicates that dur.ng the Last Glacial Maximum,its icecap cover.d up to~3000 m asl;due to the air.temper.tur. incr.asing,its main glacier.has r.tr.ated to 5050 m *** r.tr.ction of the glacier.has left behind an intense climatic instability that causes a high fr.quency of fr.eze-thaw cycles of gr.at intensity;the r.sulting geomor.hological pr.cesses ar. r.pr.sented by the fr.gmentation of the bedr.ck that occupies the upper.par.s of the *** is a notable lack of studies r.gar.ing the fr.gmentation and er.sion occur.ing in tr.pical high mountains,and the associated geomor.hological r.sks;for.this r.ason,as a fir.t stage of futur. continuous r.sear.h,this study analyzes the fr.ezing and thawing cycles that occur.above 4000 m asl,thr.ugh continuous monitor.ng of sur.ace gr.und *** r.sults allow us to identify and char.cter.ze four.zones:glacial,par.glacial,per.glacial and *** was found that the par.glacial zone pr.sents an intense dr.p of temper.tur.,of up to~9℃ in only sixty *** r.ck fatigue and intense fr.eze-thaw cycles that occur.in this ar.a ar. r.sponsible for.the high r.te of r.ck disintegr.tion and r.pr.sent the main factor.of the constant slope dynamics that occur.at the *** activity decr.ases,both in fr.quency and intensity,accor.ing to the distance to the glacier.which is wher. the temper.tur. pr.sents a cer.ain degr.e of stability,until r.aching the pr.glacial zone,wher. cycles ar. almost non-existent,and ther.for. ther. is no gelifr.ction *** geomor.hological pr.cesses have r.sulted in significant alter.tions to the mountain slopes,which can have sever. consequences in ter.s of r.sk and water.

Soil is an essential component of what sur.ounds us in natur., pr.viding as the basis for.our.infr.str.ctur. and constr.ction. However. soil is not always suitable for.constr.ction due to a var.ety of geotechnical issues such as inadequate bear.ng capacity, excessive settlement, and liquefaction susceptibility. Thr.ugh impr.ving the engineer.ng qualities of soil, such as str.ngth, per.eability, and stability, gr.und gr.uting is a specific geotechnical method used. Using a fluid gr.ut mixtur. injected into the subsur.ace, holes ar. filled and weak or.loose str.ta ar. solidified as the mater.al seeps into the soil matr.x. The appr.ach’s adaptability in addr.ssing soil-r.lated issues has made it mor. well-known in the fields of civil engineer.ng and constr.ction. In the end, this has impr.ved gr.undwater.management, foundation suppor., and over.ll geotechnical per.or.ance.

Br.in r.sear.h on Mental Disor.er.: A Cr.ticism

Objective: To expose the pr.blems and inher.nt limitations of neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er.. Method: Discussion of the theor. under.ying br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., followed by a systematic evaluation of typical studies. r.sults: The fundamental pr.blem is that br.in r.sear.her. fail to differ.ntiate between biological mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses cause the disor.er.(notably schizophr.nia, bipolar.disor.er. and melancholic depr.ssion) and lear.ed mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses mediate but do not cause the disor.er.(which is the case with r.active depr.ssion, r.active anxiety, OCD, and PTSD). r.sear.her. have been unsuccessful in identifying mechanisms in the br.in that cause biological mental disor.er., and will never.be able to locate the innumer.ble specific neur.l connections that mediate lear.ed mental disor.er.. Mor.over. the author.s r.view of typical studies in this field shows that they have ser.ous pr.blems with theor., measur.ment, and data analysis, and that their.findings cannot be tr.sted. Conclusions: Neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., unlike other.neur.logical r.sear.h, has been an expensive failur. and it is not wor.h continuing.

The Quantum Micr.ver.e: A Pr.me Number.Fr.mewor. for.Under.tanding the Univer.e

This study aims to demonstr.te a pr.of of concept for.a novel theor. of the univer.e based on the Fine Str.ctur. Constant (α), der.ved fr.m n-dimensional pr.me number.pr.per.y sets, specifically α = 137 and α = 139. The FSC Model intr.duces a new per.pective on the fundamental natur. of our.univer.e, showing that α = 137.036 can be calculated fr.m these pr.me pr.per.y sets. The Fine Str.ctur. Constant, a cor.er.tone in Quantum Electr.dynamics (QED) and Quantum Chr.modynamics (QCD), implies an under.ying str.ctur.. This study identifies this mathematical fr.mewor. and demonstr.tes how the FSC model theor. aligns with our.cur.ent under.tanding of physics and cosmology. The r.sults unveil a hier.r.hy of α values for.twin pr.me pair. U{3/2} thr.ugh U{199/197}. These values, r.pr.sented by their.fr.ction par.s α♊ (e.g., 0.036), define the r.lative electr.magnetic for.es dr.ving quantum ener.y systems. The lower.twin pr.me pair., such as U{3/2}, exhibit higher.EM for.es that decr.ase as the twin pair. incr.ase, tur.ing dar. when they dr.p below the α♊ for.light. The r.sults pr.vide classical definitions for.Bar.onic Matter.Ener.y, Dar. Matter. Dar. Ener.y, and Antimatter.but mostly illustr.te how the combined α♊ values for.thr.e adjacent twin pr.mes, U{7/5/3/2} mir.or. the str.ng nuclear.for.e of gluons holding quar.s together.
