Relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in intensive care unit nurses

Objective:The quality of professional life has attracted the attention of many managers owing to its importance,and organizational commitment differs according to work conditions in an *** the largest professional group in the healthcare system,nurses face many stressful factors that can endanger their quality of professional life and organizational *** their huge importance,these 2 variables have rarely been addressed or evaluated in the nursing *** present study was conducted to determine the relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in nurses working in the intensive care units(ICUs)and critical care units(CCUs).Methods:The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 221 nurses working in the ICUs of hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and selected through proportional stratified *** data collection tools comprised demographic questionnaires,the quality of work-life questionnaire by Walton with 8 dimensions,and the valid and reliable organizational commitment scale by Meyer and *** data were analyzed in SPSS,version 23(IBM Corporation,Armonk,New York,United States),using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques,including Spearman correlation,Pearson correlation,the Kruskal-Wallis test,the Mann-Whitney U test,the c2 test,and the independent t test.P<0.050 was set as the level of statistical ***:The mean scores of quality of professional life and organizational commitment were 58.996±14.427 and 93.840±13.900,respectively,in the ICU *** Pearson test showed positive and significant relationships between quality of professional life and organizational commitment(r=0.392,P<0.001).Conclusions:Given the positive relationship found in the present study between organizational commitment and quality of professional life,it is recommended that organizational commitment be modified to improve the quality of profession

Coordination complex of a copper cyanurate(Cu(Ⅱ)-CA) was transformed into coordination polymers upon the stimulus of extra Cu(Ⅱ) through “directed Ostwald ripening”. By increasing the molar ratio of Cu(Ⅱ) to CA, we obtained two coordination polymers with selective coordination sites: Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ NCu(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ O-Cu(Ⅱ), which display disparate magnetic interactions.

Congenital disseminated pyogenic granuloma(CDPG)is characterized by eruptive disseminated or localized lesions,which may arise spontaneously or secondary to predisposing *** rarer is the occurrence of CDPG with numerous lesions affecting variable organs,which develop during the fetal *** report describes the case of a 32-week-old fetus presenting with severe hydrocephalus and vascular intracranial and right lung masses on magnetic resonance *** labor occurred at the 32^(nd)week due to preterm premature rupture of membranes,and the newborn died due to cardiac dysfunction within 2 hours *** subsequent autopsy revealed multiple violaceous to dark red papules,nodules,pedunculated and un-pedunculated mucocutaneous masses,as well as two brain lesions,a lung lesion,a thoracic wall intramuscular mass,and a pyloric *** examination and immunohistochemical evaluation for glucose transporter 1(GLUT1)confirmed the diagnosis of *** represents a rare condition with an elusive etiology and limited reports in the *** diagnosis from multifocal infantile hemangioma,based on GLUT1 negativity of CDPG,is imperative due to differing clinical course and treatment *** report underscores a severe case of CDPG characterized by preterm labor and demise shortly after delivery,notable for its extensive involvement across multiple organs,including the brain,lung,intestine,musculoskeletal system,mucosal,and numerous cutaneous sites.

Power Balance Consideration in the Design of Indirectly Driven Targets

A preliminary design for a heavy ion driver inertial fusion（HIDIF） target is presented. The effect of target material and dimensions on transfer efficiency and symmetrical irradiation in the hohlraum are *** analysis led to the evaluation of optimal target materials and dimensions to achieve a positive power balance of an ICF power *** results show that the best choice is a high Z material for cavity wall materials and a low Z material for the capsule *** is concluded that for achieving the highest transfer efficiency and best symmetrization we need an area ratio between 5≤A2/A1≤9.

Biostratigraphy and Sequence Stratigraphy of the Gurpi Formation at Deh Dasht Area, Zagros Basin, SW Iran

A rich assemblage of planktonic foraminifera has been studied from an outcrop of the Gurpi Formation, the hydrocarbon source rock in the southwest Iran, Deh Dasht area（Kuh-e Siah anticline）. Based on the distribution of the planktonic foraminifera, eight biozones have been recognized that included：Dicarinella concavata Interval Zone（Earliest Santonian）, Dicarinella asymetrica Total Range Zone（Santonian to Earliest Campanian）, Globotruncanita elevata Partial Range Zone（Early Campanian）, Globotruncana ventricosa Interval Zone（Middle to Late Campanian）, Radotruncana calcarata Total Range Zone（Late Campanian）, Globotruncanella havanensis Partial Range Zone（Late Campanian）, Globotruncana aegyptiaca Interval Zone（Late to latest Campanian）, Gansserina gansseri Interval Zone（Latest Campanian to Early Maastrichtian）. These biozones indicates that the Gurpi Formation deposited during the Early Santonian- Early Maastrichtian. These biozones are compared to the most standard biozones defined in Tethysian domain. Based on distribution of morphotype groups of planktonic foraminifera, planktonic to benthic ratio（P/B） and content of carbonate, nine third-order sequences are recognized.

Background:Constipation is a common chronic bowel disorder with an incidence of more than 50%in the elderly *** and alternative medicine is a cost-effective and satisfactory treatment for constipation used widely by the ***:This study evaluates the efficacy of an herbal formula made from Foeniculum vulgare *** Rosa damascena for the treatment of constipation in an elderly population and consequent changes to their quality of ***,setting,participants and intervention:This double-blind randomized active controlled clinical trial,with parallel group allocation ratio of 1:1,was conducted in a referral clinic in Afzalipour Hospital,affiliated to Kerman University of Medical Sciences in Kerman,Southeastern *** over 60 years of age,diagnosed with functional constipation(based on the RomeⅣcriteria),were included in this *** received a sachet of 10 g *** and ***(herbal formula group)or polyethylene glycol 4000(PEG 4000 group)with a glass of warm water two times a day for 4 weeks and were followed up for 4 additional *** outcome measures:Constipation severity,stool consistency,and the quality of life were used as the primary *** side effects were used as a secondary *** outcomes were assessed using the Constipation Assessment Scale,the Bristol Stool Form Scale,and the Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life ***:A total of 25 participants in each group completed the four-week treatment cycle and the eightweek *** the end of the four-week treatment cycle,all clinical outcomes had significant improvements in both groups(P<0.05).The analysis of constipation severity(P<0.001),stool consistency(P<0.001),and the quality of life(P<0.001)showed significant improvements with fewer side effects(mild diarrhea)and a longer duration of symptom relief in the herbal formula group compared to the PEG 4000 ***:Although both interv

Electrochemical Impedance of Ethanol Oxidation in Alkaline Media

Nickel modified NiOOH electrodes were used for the electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol in alkaline so lutions. The electro-oxidation of ethanol in a 1 mol/L NaOH solution at different concentrations of ethanol was stu died by ac impedance spectroscopy. Electrooxidation of ethanol on Ni shows negative resistance on impedance plots. The impedance shows different patterns at different applied anodic potential. The influence of the electrode potential on impedance was studied and a quantitative explanation for the impedance of ethanol oxidation was given by means of a proposed mathematical model. At potentials higher than 0.52 V（vs. Ag/AgCl）, a pseudoinductive behavior was observed, but at those higher than 0.57 V, impedance patterns were reversed to the second and third quadrants. The conditions required for the reversing of impedance pattern were delineated with the impedance model.

Mineralogical Evidence for Regional Metamorphism Overprinted by Contact Metamorphism

The Soursat metamorphic complex （SMC） in northwestern Iran is part of the Sanandaj- Sirjan metamorphic belt. The complex is composed of different metamorphic and plutonic rocks, but is dominated by metapelites composed of garnet, staurolite, kyanite, fibrolite, cordierite, and andalusite. Porphyroblasts in schists have the same fabric, and three stages of schistosity are present. The internal schistosity （Sn） inclusion trails are also offset by conjugate sets of extensional schistosity （Sn＋l） and a second （Sn＋2） that crenulates （Sn＋l）. Polyphase metamorphisms are present in the complex. Garnet, staurolite, kyanite, and fibrolite assemblage preserves conditions during the M1 metamorphic event. This assemblage yields a P-t estimate of 645±11℃ and 6.5±0.5 kbar. Other samples of the central part of SMC contain cordierite and andalusite （M2） overgrowth that yields a P- t estimate of 532±33℃ and 2.1±1.1 kbar.
