5G New Ra.io Prototype Implementa.ion Ba.ed on SDR

The fifth genera.ion (5G) New Ra.io (NR) ha. been developed to provide significa.t improvements in sca.a.ility, flexibility, a.d efficiency in terms of power usa.e a.d spectrum a. well. To meet the 5G vision, service a.d performa.ce requirements, va.ious ca.dida.e technologies ha.e been proposed in 5G new ra.io;some a.e extensions of 4G a.d, some a.e developed explicitly for 5G. These ca.dida.e technologies include non-Orthogona. Multiple a.cess (NOMa., a.d Low Density Pa.ity Check (LDPC) cha.nel coding. In a.dition, deploying softwa.e defined ra.io (SDR) instea. of tra.itiona. ha.dwa.e modules. In this pa.er we build a. open source SDR-ba.ed pla.form to rea.ize the tra.sceiver of the physica. downlink sha.ed cha.nel (PDSCH) of 5G NR a.cording to Third Genera.ion Pa.tnership Project (3GPP) sta.da.d. We provide a.prototype for pa.ring between two 5G users using NOMa.technique. In a.dition, a.suita.le design for LDPC cha.nel coding is performed. The intermedia.e sta.e of segmenta.ion, ra.e ma.ching a.d interlea.ing a.e a.so ca.ried out in order to rea.ize a.sta.da.d NR fra.e. Fina.ly, experiments a.e ca.ried out in both simula.ion a.d rea. time scena.io on the designed 5G NR for the purpose of system performa.ce eva.ua.ion, a.d to demonstra.e its potentia. in meeting future 5G mobile network cha.lenges.

The ca.l a.mission control (Ca.) optimizes the use of a.loca.ed cha.nels a.a.nst offered tra.fic ma.nta.ning the required qua.ity of service (QoS). Provisioning QoS to user a. cell-edge is a.cha.lenge where there is limita.ion in cell resources due to inter-cell interference (ICI). Soft Frequency Reuse is ICI mitiga.ion scheme tha. controls the distribution of resources between users. In this pa.er, the Impa.t of four Ca. schemes (Cutoff Priority scheme (CP), Uniform Fra.tiona. Gua.d Cha.nel (UFGC), Limited Fra.tiona. Gua.d Cha.nel (LFGC), New Ca.l Bounding (NCB) scheme) a. cell-edge ha.e investiga.ed using queuing a.a.ysis in a.compa.a.ive ma.ner. The compa.ison is ba.ed on two criteria. The first criterion gua.a.tees a.pa.ticula. level of service to a.rea.y a.mitted users while trying to optimize the revenue obta.ned. The second criterion determines the minimum of number of ra.io resources tha. provides ha.d constra.nts in both of blocking a.d dropping proba.ilities. The four schemes a.e compa.ed a. different scena.ios of new a.d ha.dover ca.l a.riva. ra.es.

Dropping proba.ility of ha.doff ca.ls a.d blocking proba.ility of new ca.ls a.e two importa.t Qua.ity of Service (QoS) mea.ures for LTE-a.va.ced networks. a.plying QoS for Cell edge users in soft frequency reuse scheme in LTE system is a.cha.lenge a. they a.rea.y suffer from limited resources. a.signing some resources for ha.dover ca.ls ma. enha.ce dropping proba.ility but this is in price of degra.a.ion in the blocking proba.ility for new ca.ls in cell-edge. Uniform Fra.tiona. Gua.d Cha.nel (UFGC) is a.ca.l a.mission policy tha. provides QoS without reserving resources for ha.dover ca.ls. In this pa.er, the performa.ce of Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR) in presence of Uniform Fra.tiona. Gua.d Cha.nel (UFGC) will be investiga.ed using queuing a.a.ysis. The ma.hema.ica. model a.d performa.ce metrics will be deduced in this a.sessment. The impa.t of UFGC will be eva.ua.ed in edge a.d core pa.t sepa.a.ely. Then the optima. va.ue for the pa.a.eter of UFGC will be obta.ned to minimize the blocking proba.ility of new ca.ls with the constra.nt on the upper bound on the dropping proba.ility of ha.doff ca.ls.
