Association between cag-pathogenicity island in Helicobacter pylori isolates from peptic ulcer,gastric carcinoma,and non-ulcer dyspepsia subjects with histological changes

AIM： To investigate the presence of the cag-pathogenicity island and the associated histological damage caused by strains with complete cag-PAI and with partial deletions in correlation to the disease status. METHODS： We analyzed the complete cag-PAI of 174 representative Helicobacter pylori （H pylori ） clinical isolates obtained from patients with duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastric cancer, and non-ulcer dyspepsia using eight different oligonucleotide primers viz cagA1, cagA2, cagAP1, cagAP2, cagE, cagT, LEC-1, LEC-2 spanning five different loci of the whole cag-PAI by polymerase chain reaction （PCR）. RESULTS： The complete screening of the genes comprising the cag-PAI showed that larger proportions of subjects with gastric ulcer （97.8%） inhabited strains with complete cag-PAI, followed by gastric cancer （85.7%）, non-ulcer dyspepsia （7.1%）, and duodenal ulcer （6.9%）, significant differences were found in the percentage distribution of the genes in all the clinical groups studied. It was found that strains with complete cag-PAI were able to cause severe histological damage than with the partially deleted ones. CONCLUSION： The cag-PAI is a strong virulent marker in the disease pathogenesis as it is shown that a large number of those infected with strain with complete cag-PAI had one or the other of the irreversible gastric pathologies and interestingly 18.5% of them developed gastric carcinoma. The presence of an intact cag- PAI correlates with the development of more severe pathology, and such strains were found more frequently in patients with severe gastroduodenal disease. Partial deletions of the cag-PAI appear to be sufficient to render the organism less pathogenic.

Manual investigation of chest radiography(CXR)images by physicians is crucial for effective decision-making in COVID-19 ***,the high demand during the pandemic necessitates auxiliary help through image analysis and machine learning *** study presents a multi-threshold-based segmentation technique to probe high pixel intensity regions in CXR images of various pathologies,including normal *** information is extracted using gray co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)-based features,while vessel-like features are obtained using Frangi,Sato,and Meijering *** learning models employing Decision Tree(DT)and RandomForest(RF)approaches are designed to categorize CXR images into common lung infections,lung opacity(LO),COVID-19,and viral pneumonia(VP).The results demonstrate that the fusion of texture and vesselbased features provides an effective ML model for aiding *** ML model validation using performance measures,including an accuracy of approximately 91.8%with an RF-based classifier,supports the usefulness of the feature set and classifier model in categorizing the four different ***,the study investigates the importance of the devised features in identifying the underlying pathology and incorporates histogrambased *** analysis reveals varying natural pixel distributions in CXR images belonging to the normal,COVID-19,LO,and VP groups,motivating the incorporation of additional features such as mean,standard deviation,skewness,and percentile based on the filtered ***,the study achieves a considerable improvement in categorizing COVID-19 from LO,with a true positive rate of 97%,further substantiating the effectiveness of the methodology implemented.

Studies on thermally grown oxide as an interface between plasma-sprayed coatings and a nickel-based superalloy substrate

A thermally grown oxide layer formed by hot corrosion was investigated as an interface between plasma-sprayed coatings and a nickel-based superalloy substrate. The hot corrosion mechanism of NiCr–Cr_2O_3 and Al_2O_3–40wt% TiO_2(A40T) plasma coated Inconel 617 was evaluated. The experiments were carried out at 1000°C using a combination of Na_2SO_4, NaCl, and V_2O_5 salts to simulate the conditions of a gas turbine in a marine environment. The hot corrosion results revealed the spallation and dissolution of oxides upon prolonged exposure. Optical images and scanning electron micrographs of the exposed samples revealed the formation of oxide scale and provided details of its morphology in NiCr–Cr_2O_3 coated samples. Microstructure characterization of A40T coatings demonstrated a thermally grown oxide(TGO) layer at 1000°C. Increasing the thickness of the TGO layer decreased the corrosion resistance. The elemental analysis and image mapping revealed the migration of active elements from the substrate and coatings toward the corrosive environment.

Objective:To explore the hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects of piperine against acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in ***:In mice,hepatotoxicity was induced by a single dose of acetaminophen(900 mg/kg b.w.i.p.).Piperine(25 mg/kg b.w.i.p.) and standard drug silymarin(25 mg/kg b.w.i.p.) were given to mice,30 min after the single injection of *** 4 h,the mice were *** of liver marker enzymes [(aspartate transaminase(AST),alanine transaminase(ALT),and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)]and inflammatory mediator tumour necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) were estimated in serum,while lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status(superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase,glutathione-s-transferase and glutathione) were determined in liver homogenate of control and experimental ***:Acetaminophen induction(900 mg/kg b.w.i.p.) significantly increased the levels of liver marker enzymes,TNF-α,and lipid peroxidation,and caused the depletion of antioxidant *** and silymarin treatment to acetaminophen challenged mice resulted in decreased liver marker enzymes activity,TNF-αand lipid peroxidation levels with increase in antioxidant ***:The results clearly demonstrate that piperine shows promising hepatoprotective effect as comparable to standard drug silymarin.

Approximate Computing is a low power achieving technique that offers an additional degree of freedom to design digital *** is one of the types of approximate circuit design technique which removes logic gates or wires in the circuit to reduce power consumption with minimal insertion of *** this work,a novel machine learning(ML)-based pruning technique is introduced to design digital *** machine-learning algorithm of the random forest deci-sion tree is used to prune nodes selectively based on their input *** addi-tion,an error compensation value is added to the original output to reduce an error *** results proved the efﬁciency of the proposed technique in terms of area,power and error *** to conventional pruning,proposed ML pruning achieves 32%and 26%of the area and delay reductions in 8*8 multi-plier *** power image processing algorithms are essential in various applications like image compression and enhancement *** real-time evaluation,proposed ML optimized pruning is applied in discrete cosine transform(DCT).It is a basic element of image and video processing *** results on benchmark images show that proposed pruning achieves a very good peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)value with a considerable amount of energy savings compared to other methods.

Improved QoS-Secure Routing in MANET Using Real-Time Regional ME Feature Approximation

Mobile Ad-hoc Network(MANET)routing problems are thoroughly studied several approaches are identified in support of *** the Quality of Service(QoS)performance of MANET is achieving higher *** reduce this drawback,this paper proposes a new secure routing algorithm based on real-time partial ME(Mobility,energy)*** routing method RRME(Real-time Regional Mobility Energy)divides the whole network into several parts,and each node’s various characteristics like mobility and energy are randomly selected neighbors *** is done in the path discovery phase,estimated to identify and remove malicious *** addition,Trusted Forwarding Factor(TFF)calculates the various nodes based on historical records and other characteristics of multiple ***,the calculated QoS Support Factor(QoSSF)calculating by the Data Forwarding Support(DFS),Throughput Support(TS),and Lifetime Maximization Support(LMS)to any given *** route was found to implement the path of maximizing MANET QoS based on QoSSF *** the proposed technique produces the QoS based on real-time regional ME feature *** proposed simulation implementation is done by the Network Simulator version 2(NS2)tool to produce better performance than other *** achieved a throughput performance had 98.5%and a routing performance had 98.2%.
