Non-Invasive Early Diagnosis of Obstructive Lung Diseases Leveraging Machine Learning Algorithms

Lungs are a vital human body organ,and different Obstructive Lung Diseases(OLD)such as asthma,bronchitis,or lung cancer are caused by shortcomings within the ***,early diagnosis of OLD is crucial for such patients suffering from OLD since,after early diagnosis,breathing exercises and medical precautions can effectively improve their health state.A secure non-invasive early diagnosis of OLD is a primordial need,and in this context,digital image processing supported by Artificial Intelligence(AI)techniques is reliable and widely used in the medical field,especially for improving early disease ***,this article presents an AIbased non-invasive and secured diagnosis for OLD using physiological and iris *** research work implements different machine-learning-based techniques which classify various subjects,which are healthy and effective *** iris features include gray-level run-length matrix-based features,gray-level co-occurrence matrix,and statistical *** features are extracted from iris ***,ten different classifiers and voting techniques,including hard and soft voting,are implemented and tested,and their performances are evaluated using several parameters,which are precision,accuracy,specificity,F-score,and *** on the statistical analysis,it is concluded that the proposed approach offers promising techniques for the non-invasive early diagnosis of OLD with an accuracy of 97.6%.

Rock Hyraxes Swarm Optimization: A New Nature-Inspired Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithm

This paper presents a novel metaheuristic algorithm called Rock Hyraxes Swarm Optimization(RHSO)inspired by the behavior of rock hyraxes swarms in *** RHSO algorithm mimics the collective behavior of Rock Hyraxes to find their eating and their special way of looking at this *** hyraxes live in colonies or groups where a dominant male watch over the colony carefully to ensure their safety leads the ***-eight(22 unimodal and 26 multimodal)test functions commonly used in the optimization area are used as a testing benchmark for the RHSO algorithm.A comparative efficiency analysis also checks RHSO with Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Artificial-Bee-Colony(ABC),Gravitational Search Algorithm(GSA),and Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO).The obtained results showed the superiority of the RHSO algorithm over the selected algorithms;also,the obtained results demonstrated the ability of the RHSO in convergence towards the global optimal through optimization as it performs well in both exploitation and exploration ***,RHSO is very effective in solving real issues with constraints and new search *** is worth mentioning that the RHSO algorithm has a few variables,and it can achieve better performance than the selected algorithms in many test functions.

Mercury speciation in aquatic environment south eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea,Egypt

This study aims to describe distribution and speciation of Hg in coastal water,fish and sediments from the Western harbour(main harbour)in Egypt and has been studied in two *** slightly high annual mean of total dissolved mercury TDHg value(1.81 mg/L)in the surface layer might reflect the highest average surface value(6.09 mg/L),selected at the outer part,due to the entering the water loaded by industrial pollutants from El Mex Bay to the harbour *** addition to the internal activities as petroleum Quay(petroleum basin)and in front of Noubaria Canal outfall(5.13 and 5.32 mg/L respectively).On the other hand,the increased levels of mercury in suspension(particulate form)during the study period may be due to the effects of heavy winter rain over the highly industrialized area,also the surface input of mercury and its regeneration at the sediment/water interface in the *** the present study,the total and methyl mercury in the studied fish was exceeded the regulatory limit of the European Union for mercury concentration in *** contamination of *** species was higher than that of the other studied species due to its habitat,represented by small schools in very shallow water close to the bottom sediments,and its different approach in *** present study of surface sediments reveals that,there were probably an uncomplexed strong Hg-binding site available in the sediments,the major portion of mercury found in these sediments is in organo-chelated form followed by acid reducible ***,mercury in residual fraction(mercury of natural origin)is the relatively low portion *** though the percentage of the first three fractions of mercury is relatively high,absolute values of these mobile Hg fractions are quite high due to the high total mercury values.

Hydroquinone(HQ)is an phenolic aromatic compound used in cosmetic medicine as skin lightening material since long time *** the several pathological conditions that observed,the use of HQ for this purpose was recently *** commonly noted health problem associated with hydroquinone use was contact *** present study was designed and conducted to determine the HQ presence and concentrations in ten samples of skin lightening cosmetics available in the local ***-MS analysis was employed for detection of HQ qualitatively while HPLC analysis was used as a quantitative analysis for determination of the HQ concentrations in each *** results obtained indicated that the overall range of HQ levels in all respected samples ranged from 0.0039%to 0.14%.

Cardiac involvement in disseminated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma,successful management with chemotherapy dose reduction guided by cardiac imaging: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Secondary cardiac involvement by lymphoma has received limited attention in the medical literature, despite its grave prognosis. Although chemotherapy improves patients' survival, a subgroup of treated patients dies suddenly due to myocardial rupture following chemotherapy initiation. Reducing the initial chemotherapy dose with dose escalation to standard doses may be effective in minimizing this risk but the data are limited. We report on the successful management of a patient with disseminated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL) involving the heart using such *** SUMMARY An 18-year-old male presented to our hospital with six months history of progressive dyspnea, orthopnea and cough. On physical examination, the patient was found to have a plethoric and mildly edematous face, fixed elevation of the right internal jugular vein, suggestive of superior vena cava obstruction, and a pelvic mass. Investigations during admission including a thoracoabdominal computed tomography(CT) scan with CT guided biopsy of the pelvic mass,echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging led to the diagnosis of disseminated DLBCL with cardiac involvement. The patients were successfully treated with chemotherapy dose reduction followed by dose escalation to standard doses, under the guidance of cardiac imaging. The patient completed chemotherapy and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant. He is currently in remission and has a normal left ventricular *** Imaging-guided chemotherapy dosing may minimize the risk of myocardial rupture in cardiac lymphoma. Data are limited. Management should be individualized.

This study explores the role of Bedouins in preserving Palestinian land through their own means of community resilience through the concept of“Art of being”and its entailed“Arts of presence and persistence”.This is examined through the correlation between Bedouin lifestyle and the spatial distribution of structures within“Al-Kurshan”Bedouin clan in Area C in the West *** on a mixed qualitative and spatial methodologies,information was gathered through semi-structured interviews with Al-Kurshan Bedouins and employees of organizations supporting Bedouins,on-site observation,and analyses of maps and photos,in addition to drawings and *** spatial distribution of Bedouin built structures is analyzed in relation to landscape and climate,social aspects within the families,and available service and sectorial *** analyses give insight on how Bedouins struggle against adopting other *** study shows that the Bedouins are slowly forced to negotiate their semi-nomadic lifestyle,but resist giving up their right to exist against the threat of forced *** maintain their“Art of being”which partly represents their own way of safeguarding Palestinian lands from *** study contributes to the wider discussion of spatial dynamics of Bedouins and their community resilience within the Palestinian geopolitical context.

Sensor Faults Observer Design with H_∞ Performance for Non-linear T-S systems

This paper deals with the problem of the state estimation and the sensor faults detection for nonlinear perturbed systems described by Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy models with unmeasurable premise variables. Indeed, a T-S observer is synthesized, in descriptor form, to estimate both the system states and the sensor faults simultaneously. The idea of the proposed approach is to introduce the sensor fault as an auxiliary variable in the state vector. Besides, the T-S model with unmeasurable premise variables is reduced to a perturbed model with measurable variables. Convergence conditions are established with Lyapunov theory and the H∞ performance in order to guarantee the best robustness to disturbances. These conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. The parameters of the observer are computed using the solution of the LMI conditions. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures. Simulation results show the satisfactory performances.

Exploitation of Fenton and Fenton-like reagents as alternative conditioners for alum sludge conditioning

The use of Fenton＇s reagent （Fe^2＋/H2O2） and Fenton-like reagents containing transition metals of Cu（Ⅱ）, Zn（Ⅱ）, Co（Ⅱ）, and Mn（Ⅱ） for an alum sludge conditioning to improve its dewaterability was investigated. The results obtained were compared with those obtained from conditioning the same alum sludge using cationic and anionic polymers. Experimental results show that Fenton＇s reagent was the best among the Fenton and Fenton-like reagents for the alum sludge conditioning. A considerable effectiveness of capillary suction time （CST） reduction efficiency of 47% can be achieved under test conditions of Fe^2＋/H2O2 = 20/125 mg/g DS （dry solid） and pH 6.0. The observation of floc-like particles after Fenton＇s reagent conditioning of alum sludge suggested that the mechanism of Fenton＇s reagent conditioning was different from that of polymer conditioning. In spite of the lower efficiency in the CST reduction of Fenton＇s reagent in alum sludge conditioning compared to that of polymer conditioning, Fenton＇s reagent offers a more environmentally safe option. Tiffs study provided an example of proactive treatment engineering, which is aimed at seeking a safe alternative to the use of polymers in sludge conditioning towards achieving a more sustainable sludge management strategy.
