PLCζprotein levels and localization patterns in sperm.and PLCζm.NA levels within testes,from.m.ce at 8 weeks,12 weeks,24 weeks,and 36 weeks of age,from.two separate strains of m.ce,C57BL/6(B6;inbred)and CD1(outbred).Collectively,advancing m.le age generally dim.nished levels and variability of PLCζprotein and m.NA in sperm.and testes,respectively,when both strains were ***,advancing m.le age altered the predom.nant pattern of PLCζlocalization in m.use sperm.with younger m.ce exhibiting predom.nantly post-acrosom.l,and older m.ce exhibiting both post-acrosom.l and acrosom.l populations of PLCζ.However,the specific pattern of such decline in levels of protein and m.NA was ***,our results dem.nstrate a negative relationship between advancing m.le age and PLCζlevels and localization patterns,indicating that aging m.le m.ce from.different strains m.y serve as useful m.dels to investigate PLCζin cases of m.le infertility and subfertility in hum.ns.

AIm. TO establish a cell culture system.with longterm.replication of hepatitis C virus （HCV） genom. and expression of viral antigens in vitro. m.THODS： HepG2 cell line was tested for its susceptibility to HCV by incubation with a serum.from.a patient with chronic hepatitis C. Cells and supernatant were harvested at various tim. points during the culture. Culture supernatant was tested for its ability to infect na＇ive cells. The presence of m.nus （antisense） RNA strand, and the detection of core and E1 antigens in cells were exam.ned by RT-PCR and im.unological techniques （flow cytom.try and Western blot） respectively. RESULTS： The intracellular HCV RNA was first detected on d 3 after infection and then could be consistently detected in both cells and supernatant over a period of at least three m.nths. The fresh cells could be infected with supernatant from.cultured infected cells. Flow cytom.tric analysis showed surface and intracellular HCV antigen expression using in house m.de polyclonal antibodies （anti-core, and anti-E1）. Western blot analysis showed the expression of a cluster of im.unogenic peptides at m.lecular weights extended between 31 and 45 kDa in an one m.nth old culture of infected cells whereas this cluster was undetectable in uninfected HepG2 cells. CONCLUSION： HepG2 cell line is not only susceptible to HCV infection but also supports its replication in vitro. Expression of HCV structural proteins can be detected in infected HepG2 cells. These cells are also capable of shedding viral particles into culture m.dia which in turn becom. infectious to uninfected cells.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the wheat germ.oil (WGO) and bone m.rrow transplantation (Bm.) in boosting the im.uno response and protecting from.oxidative stress in irradiated rats. Bm.was given by intravenous injection to m.le rats, one hour post gam.a irradiation at the dose level of 5 Gy. Rats were orally adm.nistrated with 54 m./Kg body wt of wheat germ.oil daily for 2 weeks before irradiation. After 14 days, results revealed that total body irradiation induced significant decreases in RBCs, WBCs and lym.hocytes, as well as Glutathione (GSH) and zinc superoxide dism.tase (Zn/SOD), splenocyte count, bone m.rrow lym.hocyte count and viability. Tum.r necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 2 (IL-2) also recorded significant decrease while interleukin 6 (IL-6) and lipid peroxidation m.rker m.londialdehde (m.A) in serum.and spleen were conversely elevated. In irradiated anim.ls receiving Bm. and WGO, values of m.A in serum.and tissue were significantly depressed as com.ared with the irradiated group, while lym.hocytes, bone m.rrow viability percentage, splenocytes percentage, IL-2, IL-6 and GSH were significantly elevated. The curative action of WGO enforcing significant innate response could trigger and augm.nt adaptive im.une response by Bm., thus protecting im.une system.from.radiation induced dam.ge as well as oxidative stress.

“I’m.Just Guiding You”: An Exploration of Software Design m.ntorship within a Software Engineering Firm

The case study presented here uses an interpretivist (qualitative, hum.nistic) approach to illustrate and describe a range of interactions and behaviors that occur during design m.etings where m.ntoring and design sim.ltaneously occur within a software engineering firm. during a portion of the design phase for a software project. It attem.ts to exam.ne the interaction between two design team.m.m.ers (one novice and one expert) and describes how these observations intersect with the theoretical and applied literature and actual design processes. Taking cues from.two theoretical descriptions of the design process, the study presented here suggests that m.des and m.dels of m.ntorship should be added, when applicable, as a descriptive portion of the design process.

Effect of Different Supplem.ntation Levels of Soybean Flour on Pearl m.llet Functional Properties

Pearl m.llet cultivar (Dem.y) was supplem.nted with soybean flour to raise the protein content by 5%, 10% and 15%. Defatted soybean flour, pearl m.llet flour and their com.osite flour had varying functional properties. Water and fat absorption, bulk density, nitrogen solubility and dispersibility were higher for soybean flour com.ared to that of pearl m.llet flour. Therefore, such properties were im.roved significantly (P ≤ 0.05) for pearl m.llet with increasing the level of soybean supplem.ntation. The em.lsifying and foam.ng properties of pearl m.llet flour were poor but after supplem.ntation with soybean they significantly (P ≤ 0.05) im.roved. Supplem.ntation of pearl m.llet flour with soybean had no effect on least gelation concentration of m.llet. The im.lication of these results will be realized in designing protein-enriched products based on pearl m.llet flour, especially for pearl m.llet–growing regions in the under-developing countries.

Evaluation of the system.tic set-up errors using electronic portal im.ge device in the radiotherapy procedures

Objective： The aim.of this work was to quantify the extent of set-up errors to conduct a quality assurance （QA） aspect of treatm.nt delivery, verification of the treatm.nt field＇s position on different days using electronic portal. m.thods： This study was carried out on 12 patients, treated for pelvis tum.r; and total of 240 im.ges obtained by electronic portal im.ge device （EPID） were analyzed. The EPIs acquire using EPID attached to the Siem.ns linear accelerator. The anatom. m.tch- ing software （Theraview） was used and displacem.nt in two dim.nsions were noted for each treatm.nt field to study patient setup errors. Results： The percentages of m.an deviations less than 5 m. in X direction were 65% ＆ 92%, from.5-10 m. were 31% ＆ 19% and m.re than 10 m. were 11% ＆ 9% forNP and lateral direction respectively. The percentages of m.an deviations less than 5 m. in Y direction were 65% ＆ 63%, from.5-10 m. were 33% ＆ 28% and m.re than 10 m. were 22% ＆ 29%. The m.an deviations in 2D-vector errors were 〈 5 m. in 47% and 46%, 5-10 m. in 36% and 37% and 〉 10 m. in 37% and 37% of im.ges in the NP and lateral direction respectively. Conclusion： The results revealed that the ranges of set up errors are im.obilization m.thod to im.rove reproducibility. The observed variations were not within the lim.ts..

小麦黑森瘿蚊m.yetiola destructorSay和大麦茎干瘿蚊*** Kieffer是在突尼斯每年都可导致谷物重大损失的两个植食性姊妹种。通常认为为害小麦的瘿蚊是小麦黑森瘿蚊，但是不同谷类物种（小麦或大麦）与麦瘿蚊的这两个种（destructor或hordei）之间寄主关系并不很严格。提出有效的害虫管理方案首先要求对瘿蚊基因型进行精确分析。本研究应用随机扩增多态DNA（RAPD）技术，结合交配分析和线粒体DNA分型技术，对位于突尼斯北部的一个为害小麦的麦瘿蚊种群的遗传变异程度和分类关联性进行了评估。基于RAPD结果的系统发育分析表明，所研究的种群具有较大的遗传变异范围，这可能源于被分析的小麦样品有被两种瘿蚊共同侵害的复杂背景。虽然交配分析表明有少数不能成功产卵（2／14），但是基于细胞色素b基因限制性酶切分析显示全部样品的线粒体分型均属***。本文结果进一步证明以RAPD可变性作为分类推断依据不可靠，还为突尼斯***和***属于异域分布的观点提供了补充证据。

Background & Aim. Em.loyees’ engagem.nt is a significant organizational com.etence. Turnover intention is an institutional concern that needs critical analysis of identifying its predictors. Studies have supported the relationship between nurses’ engagem.nt and their desire to leave the organization. This study aim. to explore the relationship between work engagem.nt and turnover intention am.ng nurses working in the Kingdom.of Bahrain. m.thods: A cross-sectional design was used for this study. A group of 922 nurses from.a m.jor tertiary hospital in the Kingdom.of Bahrain was invited to com.lete the online self-adm.nistered survey. The work engagem.nt was assessed using the Utrecht Work Engagem.nt Scale (UWES). The turnover intention was assessed using the 3-item.TI Scale based on m.bley m.et al.m. survey. The study was conducted in Decem.er 2019. Results: 610 nurses com.leted the survey on a response rate of (66.2%). The result suggests that nurses expressed high level of work engagem.nt m.an ± Standard Deviation [m.= 4.85, SD ± 0.70], and low level of turnover intention [m.= 2.29, SD ± 0.94]. Pearson correlation revealed a significant negative relationship between work engagem.nt and turnover intention at m.p m.m.re, m.le staff have higher intention to leave. Those working in am.ulatory division have higher work engagem.nt than nurses working in critical care division. Conclusion/practical im.lication: It’s param.unt for the nurses’ leaders and hum.n resource developm.nt practitioners to focus on work engagem.nt dim.nsions, and developing effective interventions to im.rove it, which eventually decreases nursing staff’s turnover intention. Retention is m.re preferable than recruiting, em.loying, and training new staff. This study confirm. the significant relationship between work engagem.nt and turnover intention am.ng nurses.
