Within the last several decades,the scientific community has made substantial progress in elucidating the complex pathophysiology underlying spinal cord ***,despite the many advances using conventional mammalian models,both cellular and axonal regeneration following spinal cord injury have remained out of *** this sense,turning to non-mammalian,regenerative species presents a unique opportunity to identify pro-regenerative cues and chara cterize a spinal cord microenvironment permissive to *** the signaling pathways hypothesized to be dysregulated during spinal cord injury is the purinergic signaling *** addition to its well-known role as energy currency in cells,ATP and its metabolites are small molecule neurotransmitte rs that mediate many diverse cellular processes within the central nervous *** our unde rstanding of the roles of the purinergic system following spinal cord injury is limited,this signaling pathway has been implicated in all injury-induced secondary processes,including cellular death,inflammation,reactive gliosis,and neural *** that the purinergic system is also evolutionarily conserved between mammalian and non-mammalian species,comparisons of these roles may provide important insights into conditions responsible for recovery ***,we compare the secondary processes between key model species and the influence of purinergic signaling in each *** our understanding of this signaling system and pro-regenerative conditions continues to evolve,so does the potential for the development of novel therapeutic interventions for spinal cord injury.

The revised version of ISO 9001：2015 places a demand before many food producers to face the problem of updating the old or developing new food quality and safety management systems. In order to help the organizations in this endeavor, this paper presents a model for planning and implementation of IMS （integrated management system） for quality and food safety, using the example of biscuit products manufacturing, and explains its conception. The integrative approach is based on the synergetic effect between the mutually related business processes. It has been established that the introduction of the model can help the biscuit producers in efficiently addressing such challenges as limited resources, increasing competition, as well as higher expectations of customers and other stakeholders.

This publication considers the possibilities of achieving sustainable indicators for the quality of biscuit products through management of purchasing processes, risk analysis and impact study of raw materials as part of the quality management system. On the basis of the results from this research it can be assumed that the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis （FMEA） can be applied in risk management and risk analysis of raw materials used in manufacturing the product and in achieving sustainable quality of the finished product. Analysis of raw materials impact was carried out with the aim of achieving sustainable sensory indicators for biscuit products. It was established that the integrated approach, applied in managing and solving problems related to authenticity, quality and safety of raw materials, contributes to manufacturing biscuit products with sustainable quality and in conformity with customer requirements.

Oilseed Brassica species are vulnerable to heat and drought stress,especially in the early reproductive *** evaluated plant imaging of whole plant and flower tissue,leaf stomatal conductance,leaf and bud temperature,photochemical reflectance index,quantumyield of photosynthesis,and leaf gas exchange for their suitability to detect tolerance to heat(H)and/or drought(D)stress treatments in 12 Brassica genotypes(G).A replicated factorial experiment was set up with 7 d of stress treatment fromthe beginning of anthesis with various levels of three factors H,D,and𝐺.Most phenomics tools detected plant stress as indicated by significant main effects of H,D,and H×*** plant volume was highly correlated with fresh weight changes,suggesting that whole plant imaging may be a useful surrogate for fresh weight in future ***,the maximum carboxylation rate of photosynthesis,increased rapidly on day 1 in H and H+D treatments,and there were significant interactions of G×H and G×*** of genotypes on day 1 inHandH+Dtreatments was positively correlated with their harvested seed *** onday 1 andday3were clustered with seed yield in H and H+D treatments as shown in the heatmaps of genotypic ***,the rate of triose phosphate use,also showed significant positive genotypic correlations with seed yield in H+D *** volume showed significant interactions of G×H and G×D on day 7,and flower volume of genotypes on day 7 inHwas positively correlated with their harvested seed *** were few interactions of G×H or G×D for leaf stomatal conductance,leaf and bud temperature,photochemical reflectance index,and quantum yield of ***,TPU,and volume of flowers are potential nondestructive phenomic traits for heat or combined heat and drought stress tolerance screening in Brassica germplasm.

The implementation of Integrated Management System （IMS） of the quality management and safety is aiming to provide production of biscuit products corresponding to particular specification and client＇s requirements. This paper explores the possibilities of achieving stable sensory and microbiological parameters of the biscuits, through the implementation of IMS. An analysis was carried out of the factors affecting the achievement of stable quality. The achievement of the stability of the parameters of 150 different lots of biscuits has been measured before, during and after the implementation of IMS in the manufacturing company The performed water activity analysis and sensory analysis confirmed that despite the dynamic changes in the internal and external environments as well as the significant changes in the requirements of the standards and the legislation, the implemented IMS has allowed the maintenance of the stable quality and safety of the biscuit products.

Applying Downscaled Global Climate Model Data to a Hydrodynamic Surface-Water and Groundwater Model

Precipitation data from Global Climate Models have been downscaled to smaller regions. Adapting this downscaled precipitation data to a coupled hydrodynamic surface-water/groundwater model of southern Florida allows an examination of future conditions and their effect on groundwater levels, inundation patterns, surface-water stage and flows, and salinity. The downscaled rainfall data include the 1996-2001 time series from the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting ERA-40 simulation and both the 1996-1999 and 2038-2057 time series from two global climate models: the Community Climate System Model (CCSM) and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamic Laboratory (GFDL). Synthesized surface-water inflow datasets were developed for the 2038-2057 simulations. The resulting hydrologic simulations, with and without a 30-cm sea-level rise, were compared with each other and field data to analyze a range of projected conditions. Simulations predicted generally higher future stage and groundwater levels and surface-water flows, with sea-level rise inducing higher coastal salinities. A coincident rise in sea level, precipitation and surface-water flows resulted in a narrower inland saline/fresh transition zone. The inland areas were affected more by the rainfall difference than the sea-level rise, and the rainfall differences make little difference in coastal inundation, but a larger difference in coastal salinities.

The incorporation of lyophilized lactic acid bacteria in dough formulation is a current trend in bread making in order toachieve quality improvement and extension of shelf life of bread. Another major aspect for today＇s bread making industry is anincrease of the biological value of bread, by addition of mineral substances that are deficient in bread （such as zinc and selenium）.This is an effective approach to combat the existing mineral deficiency in population nutrition. The aim of the present study is toinvestigate the development of lactic acid bacteria in a medium enriched with zinc and selenium. It was found that the addition ofZnSO4-7H20 in an amount of 0.174 g/kg flour and Na2SeO3.5H20 in an amount of 880.28 μg/kg flour （alone and in combination） didnot inhibit the development of lactic acid bacteria used as starter cultures in bread dough formulation. It was found that the growth ofthe lactococcal component of the applied starters is dominant. The results reveal the possibility of obtaining bread with increasedbiological value and improved quality.

This report reviews the context surrounding GO＇s （global organization） vehicle workshops and environmental management in South Sudan, specifically relating to hazardous waste management. Potential recycling opportunities are identified and some preliminary suggestions for hazardous waste management are made.

Purpose: To evaluate the measurements of the peripapillary retinal neurofiber layers (RNFL) and the ganglion cells complex (GCC) obtained by Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in eyes with preperimetric open-angle glaucoma. Methods: One hundred and forty eyes of 75 patients (21 male and 54 female), 80 eyes with preperimetric glaucoma (PPG) (45 patients) and 60 normal eyes (30 subjects) were included in this study. Automated visual field examination was done to all participants using Humphrey field analyzer, program 30-2. The GCC thickness and peripapillary RNFL thickness were measured using RTVue-100 (Optivue, Inc., Fremont, CA). The areas under ROC (receiver operating characteristic)—curves (AUCs) were defined for all examined GCC and RNFL parameters. Results: GCC of the eyes with PPG was significantly thinner than GCC of the normal eyes: (89.58 vs 97.82 microns, P < 0.001). There was no significant difference between upper and lower GCC halves in both study groups. We found a reduction of RNFL thickness in glaucomatous eyes (P < 0.001) compared with normals. AUCs for GCC parameters in eyes with PPG were larger than AUCs for RNFL parameters. Conclusion: Our study showed that the peripapillary RNFL and GCC thickness are lower in preperimetric glaucoma than in normal eyes. Despite the fact that GCC measurements (especially GLV) show better AUC than peripapillary measurements, we suggest that two scans (GCC and ONH) put together are superior in detecting early structural glaucomatous damage. Several diagnostic parameters should be considered in the clinical diagnosis of preperimetric glaucoma.
