Seroprevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis Infection in Women of Procreate Age in the Mayo-Boneye department in Chad

Introduction: Chlamydia trachomatis infections constitute a major public health problem, particularly in women. The objective of this study is to identify Chlamydia trachomatis to improve the health of women in the department of Mayo-Boneye. Methodology: This is a prospective observational study that took place from October to december 2021, including 168 patients with their sociodemographic characteristics. The venous blood of the patients was collected in dry tubes and centrifuged to obtain the serum. The Chlamydia IgG Rapid Test Cassette was used for the detection of antibodies to Chlamydia infection. The Epi Info 7TM software was used to perform the statistical analyses. Results: A total of 168 patients were included in this study. The average age was 26.36 ± 9.21 years, the median was 25.5 years with the extremes of 14 years and 70 years. Among these patients, 46.43% were illiterate, 5.95% and 20.83% were primary and secondary school students, respectively, and 26.79% university students. For marital status, 66.67% were single, 16.67% married, 10.71% divorced and 5.95% widowed. Regarding the profession, 26.79% were traders, 8.93% were employees and 64.29% unemployed. In this study, the 168 patients had performed Chlamydia trachomatis serology among whom 02 (1.19%) were excluded for invalid results and 10.71% presented positive cases. The city of Bongor was the most infected with 61% of cases. Among these patients, 54.22% were linked to risk factors for Chlamydia trachomatis. The most infected age group was between 25 and 35 with a seroprevalence of 5.36% of cases. Conclusion: In this study, Chlamydia trachomatis was positive for 10.71% of diagnosed cases. The most affected age groups are young, sexually active women. The State should emphasize the screening of women, the awareness of students and academics.

Organic Carbon Speciation in Settling Particulate Matter and Sediments

This research study investigated the levels of organic matter content in settling particulate matter and sediments in the Wellington Industrial Estate flood plains;the main objectives are: to determine the moisture content, moisture correction factor of the samples at varying depths, to determine the organic matter content of the soil samples at varying depths. Six locations, which are Wellington Industrial Estate Area 1 (WIEA 1), (WIEA 2), (WIEA 3), (WIEA 4), (WIEA 5), (WIEA 6), were used to collect samples with the aid of scoop and gravel free auger (at varying depths of 0 - 5 cm and 5 - 10 cm);the samples were given laboratory treatment. The Hesse model and Walkley Black technique were used in the determination of moisture content and organic carbon content respectively in samples collected. The results indicated that organic matter content in most of the soil samples collected are high which implies samples have high levels of metal deposition (heavy metals) and can be hazardous to the environment because of their toxic effect;it is also indicative of high level of microbial activities, these activities can also release nutrients to the environment.

State Feedback Tracking Control for Indirect Field-oriented Induction Motor Using Fuzzy Approach

This paper deals with the synthesis of fuzzy controller applied to the induction motor with a guaranteed model reference tracking performance. First, the Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy model is used to approximate the nonlinear system in the synchronous d-q frame rotating with field-oriented control strategy. Then, a fuzzy state feedback controller is designed to reduce the tracking error by minimizing the disturbance level. The proposed controller is based on a T-S reference model in which the desired trajectory has been specified. The inaccessible rotor flux is estimated by a T-S fuzzy observer. The developed approach for the controller design is based on the synthesis of an augmented fuzzy model which regroups the model of induction machine, fuzzy observer, and reference model. The gains of the observer and controller are obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Finally, simulation and experimental results are given to show the performance of the observer-based tracking controller.

Osteopontin protects against hyperoxia-induced lung injury by inhibiting nitric oxide synthases

Background Exposure of adult mice to more than 95% O_2 produces a lethal injury by 72 hours. Nitric oxide synthase （NOS） is thought to contribute to the pathophysiology of murine hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury （ALI）. Osteopontin （OPN） is a phosphorylated glycoprotein produced principally by macrophages. OPN inhibits inducible nitric oxide synthase （iNOS）, which generates large amounts of nitric oxide production. However, the relationship between nitric oxide and endogenous OPN in lung tissue during hyperoxia-induced ALI has not yet been elucidated, thus we examined the role that OPN plays in the hyperoxia-induced lung injury and its relationships with *** One hundred and forty-four osteopontin knock-out （KO） mice and their matched wild type background control （WT） were exposed in sealed cages 〉95% oxygen or room air for 24-72 hours, and the severity of lung injury was assessed; expression of OPN, endothelial nitric oxide synthase （eNOS） and iNOS mRNA in lung tissues at 24,48 and 72 hours of hyperoxia were studied by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）; immunohistochemistry （IHC） was performed for the detection of iNOS, eNOS, and OPN protein in lung *** OPN KO mice developed more severe acute lung injury at 72 hours of hyperoxia. The wet/dry weight ratio increased to 6.85±0.66 in the KO mice at 72 hours of hyperoxia as compared to 5.31±0.92 in the WT group （P〈0.05）. iNOS mRNA （48 hours： 1.04±0.08 vs. 0.63±0.09, P〈0.01; 72 hours： 0.89±0.08 vs. 0.72±0.09, P〈0.05） and eNOS mRNA （48 hours： 0.62±0.08 vs. 0.43±0.09, P〈0.05; 72 hours： 0.67±0.08 vs. 0.45±0.09, P〈0.05） expression was more significantly increased in OPN KO mice than their matched WT mice when exposed to hyperoxia. Effects of different Types of Sludge on Soil Microbial Properties:A Field Experiment on degraded Mediterranean Soils

The recycling of suitable organic wastes can enhance soil fertility via effects on soil physical, chemical and biological properties. To compare the effects of digested (dS), thermally dried (TdS) and composted dewatered (CdS) sewage sludge on soil microbiological properties, an experiment was conducted at field sites for more than one year (401 d) when applied to two Mediterranean degraded soils (loam and loamy sand soils). All three types of sewage sludge had a significant effect on measured parameters. In a short time, the plots of both loamy sand and loam soils amended with TdS showed the highest microbial basal respiration (loam soil: P d soil: P d carbon mineralization coefficient (loam soil: P d soil: P d soil, the plots amended with TdS showed the highest microbial metabolic quotient (qCO 2 ) (P dy revealed that the addition of sludge caused transient non-equilibrium effects on almost all soil microbial properties. However, there were no differences one year later because the remaining organic carbon was stable and quite similar in all treatments. These results may have practical implications for the rehabilitation of degraded soils.

Introgressions from Oryza rufipogon Increase Photosynthetic Efficiency of KMR3 Rice Lines

To understand the wild Oryza genome effect on photosynthesis and its relation to total dry matter accumulation in an elite rice variety, a set of 40 stable introgression lines(ILs) BC_3F_8 derived from a cross of Oryza sativa(KMR3) × Oryza rufipogon(WR120) were grown under well watered conditions. Leaf gas exchange measurements and leaf chlorophyll estimates were conducted at the flowering stage. The results revealed significant variations in net photosynthetic rate(Pn), transpiration rate(E), transpiration efficiency(Pn/E) and carboxylation efficiency(Pn/C_i). Pn showed significant positive correlation with E, stomatal conductance(g_s), Pn/C_i and total canopy dry matter. Specific leaf area and leaf thickness were not significantly correlated with Pn. Thirty-seven out of 40 ILs showed higher Pn than KMR3 [11.28 μmol/(m^2·s)], and 20 ILs showed higher Pn than WR120 [15.08 μmol/(m^2·s)]. The line IL194 showed the highest Pn [21.62 μmol/(m^2·s)] with increased total canopy dry matter followed by lines IL381, IL106, IL363-12, IL198, IL86-18 and IL50, which exhibited Pn above 18.0 μmol/(m^2·s). The ILs with enhanced Pn are a potential source for developing rice varieties and hybrids with higher biomass and yield.

Preparation of quantum size of tin oxide: Structural and physical characterization

SnO2NPs were successfully prepared via a hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction analysis con fi rmed the rutile tetragonal structure of SnO2NPs. The crystallite size increased from 1.18 to 5.06 nm with increasing the preparation temperature from 100 to 180 °C. The SEM photography of the products exhibited the agglomeration of the SnO2nanocrystals to large view particles, while TEM images con fi rmed the polycrystalline phase and crystallite size those analyzed from XRd. The UV–vis absorption of ethanol suspended SnO2NPs was measured. The optical band-gap energies（Eg） were signi fi cantly blue-shifted due to quantum con fi nement. Fluorescence spectra came to con fi rm this shift, where a clear shift in the maximum emission peak was observed. Stokes shift of SnO2nanocrystals was found to be crystallite size dependent.

SUPERPLASTICITY ANd dIFFUSION BONdING OF IN718 SUPERALLOY

The superplasticity and diffusion bonding of IN718 superalloy were studied in this article. The strain rate sensitivity index m was obtained at different temperatures and various initial strain rates using the tensile speed mutation method; m reached its maximum value 0.53 at an initial strain rate of 1×10^-4s^-1 at 1253K. The diffusion bonding parameters, including the bonding temperature T, pressure p, and time t, affected the mechanism of joints. When the bonded specimen with 25μm thick nickel foil interlayer was tensile at room temperature, the shear fracture of the joints with nickel foil interlayer took place at the IN718 part. Microstructure study was carried out with the bonded samples. The microstructure shows an excellent bonding at the interfaces. The optimum parameters for the diffusion bonding are： T = 1273-1323K, p = 20-30MPa, t = 45-60min.

Variation among poplar clones for growth and crown traits under field conditions at two sites of North-western India

We evaluated the growth and crown traits of 36 poplar clones at two distinct agro-climatic regions of Punjab （Ludhiana and Bathinda） in northwestern India, following randomized block design with three replications and plot size of four trees. Significant differences among clones （p〈0.001） were observed for diameter at breast height （dBH）, tree height, volume, crown width and number of branches under both the site conditions. Clones ‘G-3’, ‘25-N’ and ‘41-N’ at Ludhiana and ‘G-3’, ‘Rd-01’ and ‘S7C8’ at Bathinda were found to be superior for volume production. All growth and crown traits registered significantly higher values at Ludhiana in comparison to those at Bathinda. Clone site interaction was also significant （p〈0.001）. For volume, clones ‘L-62/84’, ‘113520’, ‘25-N’ and ‘S4C2’ witnessed huge fluctuations in ranking between sites. The correlations between growth traits were positive and highly significant （p〈0.001） at both sites. The clonal mean heritability was moderate for dBH and volume both at Ludhiana （0.61–0.66） and Bathinda （0.61–0.62）. Across sites, the genetic advance was the highest for volume （49.76%） and the lowest （6.50%） in case of height.

Critical transitions in the shape morphing of kirigami metallic glass

Kirigami, the ancient Japanese paper cutting technique, has been applied to achieve high stretchability and low energy loss of designed metallic glass. despite the exploration of the underlying deformation mechanism of kirigami-inspired structures from the energy point of view, the morphable responses of the kirigami patterns and the origin of the kirigami response are yet to be fully understood. This study reveals the mechanical driven-forms of the kirigami structure with the corresponding deformation stages. Based on the beam deflection theory, the elastic buckling behavior of kirigami metallic glass is manifested and a critical force prediction model is developed. Moreover, a force concentration parameter is introduced in the rigid-plastic deformation stage, predicting the nominal ultimate force. The kirigami-inspired facture force is firstly proposed. The findings of these models are in good agreement with the experimental sizedependent kirigami responses, and expected to provide significant insights into the understanding of the deformation behavior and the design of kirigami metallic glasses.
