The gut microbiome is defined as an ecological community of commensal symbiotic and pathogenic microorganisms that exist in our *** microbiome dysbiosis is a condition of dysregulated and disrupted intestinal bacterial homeostasis,and recent evidence has shown that dysbiosis is related to chronic inflammation,insulin resistance,cardiovascular diseases(CVD),type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),and *** is well known that obesity,T2DM and CVD are caused or worsened by multiple factors like genetic predisposition,environmental factors,unhealthy high calorie diets,and sedentary ***,recent evidence from human and mouse models suggest that the gut microbiome is also an active player in the modulation of metabolic syndrome,a set of risk factors including obesity,hyperglycemia,and dyslipidemia that increase the risk for CVD,T2DM,and other *** research aims to identify treatments to increase the number of beneficial microbiota in the gut microbiome in order to modulate metabolic syndrome by reducing chronic inflammation and insulin *** is increasing interest in supplements,classified as prebiotics,probiotics,synbiotics,or postbiotics,and their effect on the gut microbiome and metabolic *** this review article,we have summarized current research on these supplements that are available to improve the abundance of beneficial gut microbiota and to reduce the harmful ones in patients with metabolic syndrome.

Cholesteric liquid crystal(Ch-LC)exhibits many remarkable optical properties due to formation of a macroscopic helical structure.A low amount of monomer(5wt.%)is dispersed into cholesteric liquid crystal and get polymerized under UV radiations to form polymer stabilized cholesteric texture(PsCT).The thermo-chromic response made this device suitable for the developing applications in thermal *** based measurements of PsCT exploits the key property of some polymer stabilized cholesteric liquid crystals(PsCLC)to reflect definite colors at specific *** selective color of PsCT texture shifts with raise in temperature from 30oC to 85oC,which can be utilized in thermal imaging applications.

The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(MsK)anatomy course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving MsK anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental *** participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of MsK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).Many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement MsK course *** with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

AIM: To assess the correlation between blood pressure levels and fasting plasma glucose levels among young adults attending Chatrapati shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, ***: The present study was cross-sectional in nature, conducted among students in the Institute of Paramedical sciences, Chatrapati shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur. study subjects included 185 young adults. Among them, 94 were males and 91 were females, in the age group 17 to 19 ***: Mean age among males was 18.5 ± 1.5 years and among females was 17.9 ± 1.8 years. Of the total 185 study subjects, 61(32.9%) were classified as pre-diabetic and 20(10.8%) as pre-hypertensive. Mean waist circumference, systolic blood pressure and serum high density lipoprotein did not vary significantly between normoglycemic and pre-diabetic subjects. However, the mean diastolic blood pressure of pre-diabetics(82 ± 5 mm Hg) was significantly higher than normoglycemics(79 ± 6 mm Hg). Mean serum cholesterol, serum triglycerides, serum low density lipoprotein(LDL) and serum very low density lipoprotein was also higher among pre-diabetic subjects in comparison to normoglycemic subjects and the difference was statistically significant. Upon multiple linear regression analysis, it was observed that body mass index(BMI)(β = 0.149), diastolic blood pressure(β = 0.375) and serum LDL(β = 0.483) were significantly associated with fasting plasma glucose. Multiple linear regression with diastolic blood pressure as the outcome variable showed that BMI(β = 0.219), fasting blood glucose(β = 0.247) and systolic blood pressure(β = 0.510) were significantly ***: A significant prevalence of pre-diabetes and pre-hypertension in young adults is a matter of concern therefore all young adults need to be targeted for screening of diabetes and hypertension and lifestyle modification.

The mechanical environment is known to influence fracture healing. We speculated that connexin43 （Cx43） gap junctions, which impact skeletal homeostasis, fracture healing and the osteogenic response to mechanical load, may play a role in mediating the response of the healing bone to mechanical strain. Here, we used an established rat fracture model, which uses a 2 mm osteotomy gap stabilized by an external fixator, to examine the impact of various cyclical axial loading protocols （2%, 10%, and 30% strain） on osteotomy healing. We examined the presence of Cx43 in the osteotomy-healing environment and assessed how mechanical strain modulates Cx43 expression patterns in the callus. We demonstrated that increased cyclical axial strain results in increased radiographic and histologic bone formation. In addition, we show by immunohistochemistry that Cx43 is abundantly expressed in the healing callus, with the expression most robust in samples exposed to increased cyclical axial strain. These data are consistent with the concept that an increase in Cx43 expression by mechanical load may be part of the mechanisms by which mechanical forces enhances fracture healing.

The formation of C–C bonds is a crucial aspect of organic synthesis. synthesists' long-term objective is to identify novel catalysts to optimize reaction systems based on traditional transition metal catalysis. This study explores the synthesis and catalytic potential of palladium-installed covalent metal-organic frameworks(CMOFs) based on copper cyclic trinuclear units(Cu-CTUs). By incorporating palladium ions into the imine-based framework JNM-7 through a straightforward immersion method, we achieved a notable enhancement in catalytic activity for critical C–C coupling reactions, including C–H arylation and sonogashira cross-coupling. The resulting JNM-7-Pd demonstrated remarkable stability and recyclability, maintaining its efficiency over at least three cycles without any decline in efficiency.

strong>Background:strong> Childhood cataract causing visual impairment can compound developmental delay (DD) if left untreated. Current literature in children with DD is limited;thus, we evaluated cataract etiology, challenges, and treatment compliance in this group. strong>Purpose:strong> To report the presentation and challenges associated with cataract management in children with developmental delay (DD) at a tertiary care pediatric hospital. strong>Methods:strong> Retrospective review of 100 patients (173 eyes) presenting with cataracts and DD from February 2014 to December 2017. strong>Results:strong> 100 patients (173 eyes) were included. 27 patients had unilateral cataracts and 73 bilateral. The average age was 120.55 months (sD 63.77, range 5.87 - 243.16);the average follow-up period was 57.7 months (sD 139.14, range 1.03 - 1412.30). 61% of patients (55% eyes) underwent medical management for cataracts due to: cataract was not visually significant (66% eyes), parent deferred surgery (11% eyes), self-abusive behavior (14% eyes), and medical conditions that limited visual recovery (9% eyes). 32% of patients were unable to perform objective visual acuity by age 5. Patients with self-abusive behavior were more likely to present with or develop retinal detachment (RD) (35%) compared to those without self-abusive behavior (6%) (p = 0.0028). A statistically significant difference in the difficulty of examination (p sses wear (p s found in nonverbal patients. surgical complications occurred in 39% of eyes. Those with intraocular lens placement after cataract extraction were more likely to develop visual axis opacification (27% eyes) than those who remained aphakic (9% eyes) (p = 0.0313). strong>Conclusion:strong> Cataract extraction in pediatric patients with DD can be associated with success, however, providers should prepare for limitations in managing these patients.
