The Indian summer monsoon is one of the most dominant tropical circulation systems in the general circulation of the atmosphere. The country receives more than 80% of the annual rainfall during a short span of four months (June to September) of the southwest monsoon season. Variability in the quantum of rainfall during the monsoon season has profound impacts on water resources, power generation, agriculture, economics and ecosystems in the country. The inter annual variability of Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) depends on atmospheric and oceanic conditions prevailed during the season. In this study we have made an attempt to understand the variation of the of zonal winds in the tropical Upper Troposphere and Lower Stratosphere (UT/LS) region during deficient and Excess rainfall years of Indian summer monsoon and its relation to Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR). It is found that in the equatorial Upper Troposphere zonal winds have westerly anomalies during deficient rainfall year’s and easterly anomaly during excess rainfall years of Indian summer monsoon and opposite zonal wind anomaly is noted in the equatorial Lower Stratosphere during the deficient and excess rainfall years of Indian summer monsoon. It is also found that the June to September upper troposphere zonal winds averaged between 15°N and 15°S latitudes have a long-term trend during 1960 to 1998. Over this period the tropical easterlies and the tropical jet stream have weakened with time.

We investigated ^(50,52-54)Cr-induced fusion reactions for the synthesis of the superheavy element in the 104≤Z≤122 *** cross sections produced in this investigation using ^(54)Cr projectiles were compared with those obtained in prior *** estimated cross sections from this analysis are consistent with the findings of prior *** the current study,the predicted cross section was found to be 42fb at 236 MeV for ^(53)Cr+^(243)Am,23.2 fb at 236 MeV for ^(54)Cr+^(247)Cm,95.6 fb at 240 MeV for ^(53)Cr+248Bk,and 1.33 fb at 242 MeV for ^(53)Cr+***,these projected cross sections with excitation energy and beam energy will be useful in future Cr-induced fusion reaction investigations.

Monosodium urate(MSU)crystals activate inflammatory pathways that overlap with interleukin-1β(IL-1β)***,the post-translational mechanisms involved and the role of signaling proteins in this activation are *** the present study,we investigated the intracellular signaling mechanisms involved in MSU-induced activation of THP-1 macrophages and human nondiseased synovial fibroblasts(NLSFs)and the in vivo efficacy of an inhibitor of tumor grovArth factor-β(TGF-β)-activated kinase 1(TAK1),5Z-7-oxozeaenoI,in MSU-induced paw inflammation in C57BL76 ***-1 macrophage activation with MSU crystals(25-200 ng/ml)resulted in the rapid and sustained phosphorylation of interleukin-1 receptor-activated kinase 1(IRAK1 Thr^(209))and TAK1(Thr^(184/187))and their association with the E3 ubiquitin ligase *** the cellular level,MSU inhibited the deubiquitinases A20 and UCHL2 and increased 20s proteasomal activity,leading to a global decrease in K^(63)-linked ubiquitination and increase in K^(48)-linked ubiquitination in THP-1 *** MSU did not stimulate cytokine produaion in NLSFs,it significantly amplified IL-1β-induced IL-6,IL-8,and ENA-78/CXCL5 *** studies and MD simulations followed by TAK1 in vitro kinase assays revealed that uric acid molecules are capable of arresting TAK1 in an active-state conformation,resulting in sustained TAK1 kinase ***,MSU-induced proinflammatory cytokine production was completely inhibited by 5Z-7-oxozeaenol but not IRAK1/4 or TRAF6 *** of 5Z-7-oxozeaenol(5 or 15 mg/kg;orally)significantly inhibited MSU-induced paw inflammation in C57BL/6 *** study identifies a novel post-translational mechanism of TAK1 activation by MSU and suggests the therapeutic potential of TAK1 in regulating MSU-induced Inflammation.

Hippophae rhamnoides *** a plant of immense ethnopharmacological importance and is a known source for various valuable biochemicals and *** production of folate,a vitamin involved in several vital functions,in this plant is rather poorly ***,we investigate the hypothesis that rhizobial bacteria serve the plant in this essential vitamin’s *** strains of Bacillus,Azorhizobium,Frankia,Paenibacillus,Brevibacillus and Pseudomonas,were isolated from the rhizosphere of the *** and LCMS were used to trace the production of intra and extra-cellular folate by representative rhizospheric bacterial strains in *** the seventeen functionally characterized bacterial strains of the plant’s rhizosphere,thirteen produced significant amounts of *** BR5401 produced the maximum amount of folic acid(424μg/mL),and Bacillus GY779 was the only strain capable of producing both intracellular and extra-cellular folic *** Open Reading Frame coding for dihydroneopterin aldolase,an enzyme involved in folate biosynthesis,was found in one of the representative *** experimental findings help us to suggest that the folate synthesized by rhizobial bacteria is transported to the plant,highlighting a significant benefit of coexistence.

Let m ≥ 2 be any natural number and let be a finite non-chain ring, where and q is a prime power congruent to 1 modulo (m-1). In this paper we study duadic codes over the ring and their extensions. A Gray map from to is defined which preserves self duality of linear codes. As a consequence self-dual, formally self-dual and self-orthogonal codes over are constructed. Some examples are also given to illustrate this.

Let f(u) and g(v) be two polynomials of degree k and l respectively, not both linear which split into distinct linear factors over Fq. Let be a finite commutative non-chain ring. In this paper, we study polyadic codes and their extensions over the ring R. We give examples of some polyadic codes which are optimal with respect to Griesmer type bound for rings. A Gray map is defined from which preserves duality. The Gray images of polyadic codes and their extensions over the ring R lead to construction of self-dual, isodual, self-orthogonal and complementary dual (LCD) codes over Fq. Some examples are also given to illustrate this.

Central insulin resistance, the diminished cellular sensitivity to insulin in the brain, has been implicated in diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders. However, whether and how central insulin resistance plays a role in the eye remains unclear. Here, we performed intracerebroventricular injection of S961, a potent and specific blocker of insulin receptor in adult Wistar rats to test if central insulin resistance leads to pathological changes in ocular structures. 80 mg of S961 was stereotaxically injected into the lateral ventricle of the experimental group twice at 7 days apart, whereas buffer solution was injected to the sham control group. Blood samples, intraocular pressure, trabecular meshwork morphology, ciliary body markers, retinal and optic nerve integrity, and whole genome expression patterns were then evaluated. While neither blood glucose nor serum insulin level was significantly altered in the experimental or control group, we found that injection of S961 but not buffer solution significantly increased intraocular pressure at 14 and 24 days after first injection, along with reduced porosity and aquaporin 4 expression in the trabecular meshwork, and increased tumor necrosis factor α and aquaporin 4 expression in the ciliary body. In the retina, cell density and insulin receptor expression decreased in the retinal ganglion cell layer upon S961 injection. Fundus photography revealed peripapillary atrophy with vascular dysregulation in the experimental group. These retinal changes were accompanied by upregulation of pro-inflammatory and pro-apoptotic genes, downregulation of anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and neurotrophic genes, as well as dysregulation of genes involved in insulin signaling. Optic nerve histology indicated microglial activation and changes in the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein, tumor necrosis factor α, and aquaporin 4. In monocytic cells, Toll-like receptor 4 （TLR4）- and TLR2-induced reactive oxygen species （ROS） cause oxidative stress and inflammatory response; however, the mechanism is not well understood. The present study investigated the role of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase （IRAK）, extracellular signal-regulated kinase （ERK）, p67phox and Nox-2 in TLR4- and TLR2-induced ROS generation during interleukin-1 beta （IL-1β） transcription, processing, and secretion. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor, U0126, PD98059, an NADPH oxidase inhibitor （diphenyleneiodonium （DPI））, and a free radical scavenger （N-acetyl cysteine （NAC））-attenuated TLR4 （lipopolysaccharide （LPS））- and TLR2 （Pam3csk4）-induced ROS generation and IL-1β production in THP-1 and primary human monocytes. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor and siRNA-attenuated LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced ERK-IRAK1 association and ERK phosphorylation and activity. LPS and Pam3csk4 also induced IRAK1/4-, ERK- and ROS-dependent activation of activator protein-1 （AP-1）, IL-1β transcription, and IL-1β processing because significant inhibition in AP-1 activity, IL-lp transcription, Pro- and mature IL-p expression, and caspase-1 activity was observed with PD98059, U0126, DPI, NAC, an IRAK1/4 inhibitor, tanshinone Ila, and IRAK1 siRNA treatment. IRAK-dependent ERK-p67phox interaction, p67phox translocation, and p67phox-Nox-2 interaction were observed. Nox-2 siRNA significantly reduced secreted IL-lp, IL-1β transcript, pro- and mature IL-1β expression, and caspase-1 activity indicating a role for Nox-2 in LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced IL-1β production, transcription, and processing. In the present study, we demonstrate that the TLR4- and TLR2-induced IRAK-ERK pathway cross-talks with p67phox-Nox-2 for ROS generation, thus regulating IL-1β transcription and orocessin; in monocvtic cells.
