Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(p<0.001),poor sleep quality(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(p<0.001),and multiple symptoms(p<0.001).VO_(2peak)demonstrated threshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk compared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF component associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

The relationship between pain and associated characteristics of chronic ankle instability:A retrospective study

Background'. Up to 74% of people with a history of ankle sprain develop chronic ankle instability (CAI). One commonly reported residualimpairment is ankle pain;however, it has not been included in models or inclusion criteria for CAL We investigated the prevalence of pain inpeople with CAI and the association between presence of pain and other CAI ***'. Retrospective data from 1147 participants with CAI (age 26.6 ± 10.7 years, 59% female) were collated from previous studies that usedthe Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool as an assessment tool. Pain was assessed from Item 1 of the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool, whichasks participants about ankle pain. Responses were divided into 3 categories: pain during daily activities, pain during moderate/vigorous physicalactivities, and no pain. The presence of pain was analyzed with descriptive statistics, the correlation between pain category and CAI characteris・tics was analyzed by /2 tests and factors associated with each pain category were analyzed by logistic ***'. Among the participants, 60.1% (n = 689) reported ankle pain. Of all participants, 12.4% (n = 142) reported pain during daily activities,47.7% (n = 547) reported pain during moderate/vigorous physical activities, and 39.9% (n = 458) reported no pain. There was a strong associationbetween ankle instability and ankle pain (/2 = 122.2, p < 0.001, OR = 53& 95% confidence interval (CI): 3.84—7.53). Perceived ankle instability,age and unilateral ankle sprains were independently associated with pain (ankle instability: /2 = 43.29, p < 0.001;age: /2 = 30.37,p < 0.001;unilateral ankle sprains: /2 = 6.25, p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the presence of pain between ***-. The prevalence of pain in people with CAI was high and was related to perceived ankle instability. Background:Little is known about the association between different types of physical activity(PA)and chronic back conditions(CBCs)at the population *** investigated the association between levels of total and type-specific PA participation and ***'.The sample comprised 60,134 adults aged>16 years who participated in the Health Survey for England and Scottish Health Survey from 1994 to *** logistic regression models,adjusted for potential confbunders,were used to examine the association between total and type-specific PA volume(walking,domestic activity,sport/exercise,cycling,football/rugby,running/jogging,manual work,and housework)and the prevalence of ***'.We found an inverse association between total PA volume and prevalence of *** with inactive participants,the fully adjusted odds ratio(OR)for very active participants(≥15 metabolic equivalent h/week)was 0.77(95%confidence interval(CI):0.69—0.85).Participants reporting≥300 min/week of moderate-intensity activity and≥75 min/week of vigorous-intensity activity had 24%(95%CI:6%—39%)and 21%(95%C1:11%—30%)lower odds of CBCs,*** odds of CBCs were observed for participation in high-level manual domestic activity(OR=1.22;95%CI:1.00-1.48).Sport/exercise was associated with CBCs in a less consistent manner(e.g.,OR=1.18(95%CI:1.06—1.32)for low levels and OR=0.82(95%CI:0.72—0.93)for high levels of sport/exercise).Conclusion'.PA volume is inversely associated with the prevalence of CBCs.

Biochar from vegetable wastes:agro-environmental characterization

Considering the global issue of vegetable wastes generation and its impact on the environment and resources,this study evalu-ated the conversion of four largely produced vegetable wastes(cauliflower,cabbage,banana peels and corn cob residues)into *** waste was tested individually and as a combined blend to assess feedstock influences on biochar *** addition,various pyrolysis temperatures ranging from 300℃ to 600℃ and two particle size fractions(less than 75μm,75-125μm)were *** were characterized for various properties that can influence the biochars’effective-ness as a soil *** was found that pyrolysis temperature was the most dominant factor on biochar properties,but that individual feedstocks produced biochars with different *** biochars had characteristics that varied as follows:pH 7.2-11.6,ECE 0.15-1.00 mS cm^(−1),CEC 17-cmolc kg^(−1)andζ-potential−0.24 to−43 *** on optimal values of these parameters from the literature,cauliflower and banana peels were determined to be the best feedstocks,though mixed vegetable waste also produced good *** optimum temperature for pyrolysis was around 400℃,but differed slightly(300-500℃)depending on the distinct ***,smaller particle size of biochar application was always *** yields were in the range of 20-30%at this temperature range,except for corn cobs which were *** study demonstrates that pyrolysis of dried vegetable wastes is a suitable waste valorization approach to produce biochar with good agricultural properties.

Background:The *** Force physical fitness assessment(PFA)is used to determine the overall fitness of their *** is currently unknown to what extent the PFA scores of Reserve Officers’Training Corps(ROTC)cadets are affected by mandatory physical *** purpose of this investigation was to longitudinally examine the PFAs of ROTC cadets over a four-year period,evaluate the results across class ranks,and evaluate the sensitivity of the classification of the ***:Air Force ROTC cadets performed the PFAs(abdominal circumference,1-min pushups,1-min sit-ups,and a 1.5-mile run)in both the spring(n=26)and fall(n=22)*** were compiled over a four-year period(Spring 2014–Fall 2017)and were performed in accordance with Air Force Instruction 36–2905.A oneway repeated measures ANOVA was performed separately for the fall and spring groups for each dependent variable across the 4 ***,a one-way between groups ANOVA was performed for each dependent variable during the time point(fall 2015;n=46)with the most recorded cadets for each class ***:Longitudinal assessments revealed a main effect of time(P=0.010)on abdominal circumference;cadets had a smaller abdominal circumference in their freshman year than in their senior year.A main effect of time(P=0.006)was also observed on sit-up quantity;cadets performed more sit-ups in their junior year than in their freshman *** between class ranks during the same year(between-subjects ANOVA)revealed a main effect of class rank on sit-up quantity(P=0.003);the freshmen completed fewer repetitions than the sophomores(P=0.018)and the juniors did(P=0.001).Conclusions:The results indicated that only the sit-up component showed differences between class *** findings suggest that the Air Force PFA may not be sensitive enough to detect changes in physical fitness or distinguish between class ranks regarding physical performance,even after years of *** limitation may b
