Comput.t.onal t.chniques have been adopt.d in medi-cal and biological syst.ms for a long t.me. t.ere is no doubt.t.at.t.e development.and applicat.on of comput.t.onal met.ods will render great.help in bet.er underst.nding biomedical and biological funct.ons. Large amount. of dat.set. have been produced by biomedical and biological experiment. and simulat.ons. In order for researchers t. gain knowledge from origi- nal dat., nont.ivial t.ansformat.on is necessary, which is regarded as a crit.cal link in t.e chain of knowledge acquisit.on, sharing, and reuse. Challenges t.at.have been encount.red include: how t. efficient.y and effect.vely represent.human knowledge in formal comput.ng models, how t. t.ke advant.ge of semant.c t.xt.mining t.chniques rat.er t.an t.adit.onal synt.ct.c t.xt.mining, and how t. handle securit. issues during t.e knowledge sharing and reuse. t.is paper summarizes t.e st.t.-of-t.e-art.in t.ese research direct.ons. We aim t. provide readers wit. an int.oduct.on of major comput.ng t.emes t. be applied t. t.e medical and biological research.
