Dear Editor,We report the cases of three siblings with gyrate atrophy(GA)of the choroid and retina with foveoschisis,anterior subcapsular cataracts,and capsular bag *** is a rare autosomal recessive degenerative disorder of the choroid and *** one-third of all reported cases are from Finland where the incidence is estimated to be around 1:50000 whereas the theoretical global incidence is only 1:1500000[1].

Extranodal Tuberculosis of Head and Neck: A Series of 29 Cases

Background: Despite a re-increase in the incidence of tuberculosis, extranodal location on head and neck remains rare. Clinical symptomatology is non-specific and even data from paraclinical explorations often pose the problem of differential diagnosis with tumor pathology. Methods: We report a series of 29 cases of extranodal tuberculosis collected over a period of 32 years [1986-2018] in ENT department of the military hospital of Tunis. Results: Rhinosinusopharyngeal involvement was predominant (45%) followed by glandular involvement (14%). Diagnosis was histopathological in most cases. Concomitant pulmonary tuberculosis was detected in two cases and spinal lumbar in one case. Treatment was medical in all cases. Conclusion: Clinical presentation of extranodal tuberculosis is various and non-specific. Neoplastic pathology is the main differential diagnosis. However, diagnosis should be systematically raised in endemic countries. Treatment is essentially medical.

We reviewed the data of all patients managed for retroperitoneal paragangliomas(PGLs)between June 2010and June 2011 to present our experience concerning this uncommon entity to highlight diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of retroperitoneal *** patients were admitted to the department of general and hepatobiliary surgery in the regional hospital of Jendouba,*** size of the tumor was taken at its largest dimension,as determined in a computed tomography(CT)scan and pathological *** were 4 patients(all women)with a median age of 48 years(range46-56 years).Abdominal pain was the commonest *** showed and localized the tumors which were all *** patients had successfu surgical resection of the tumors under invasive arterial blood pressure *** patient underwent surgery for a presumed tumor of the pancreatic *** fresh-mount microscopic study of the peroperative biopsy yielded inflammatory tissue without malignancy and no resection was *** histologica examination of the biopsy concluded PGL.A secondlaparotomy was performed and the tumor was entirely *** diagnosis was made after surgery by histology in all *** control of the blood pressure was improved after surgery in 3 *** are rare *** retroperitoneal localization is *** surgical resection remains the only curative treatment but it is often challenging as these tumors are located near multiple vital blood vessels.
